Chapter 12 - Chapter 11: Beautiful, Kind, and Smart!

Inside the old gymnasium.

Although Hawke's Little Universe had awakened, the habit of punching ten thousand times a day for a thousand consecutive days was not something he could just drop.

So, these days, he still maintained the habit of punching ten thousand times daily.

He had nothing else to do anyway.

Moreover, with these days of daily punching, Hawke could still feel that another star in his Little Universe had faintly lit up.

Although it hadn't fully lit up yet, he estimated that if he could persist for a month, it would truly be illuminated.

Clearly, lighting up stars was not limited to just combat.

At the very least, combat wasn't the only option; it was just the only shortcut compared to the efficiency of punching ten thousand times a day for a month to light up a star.

But that wasn't important.

Hawke didn't care.

Firstly, he didn't think of himself as a violent maniac, nor was it possible for him to become a 'I don't eat beef' type of person the day after gaining supernatural powers.

A thousand consecutive days, ten thousand punches daily, refined not only his strength but, more importantly, his character.

He controlled the power, and the power did not control him.

Secondly, he hadn't even gathered all the materials needed to forge a saint cloth yet, so he wasn't in a hurry to light up his constellation.

As everyone knows.

A saint seiya without a saint cloth and a saint seiya with a saint cloth are two different species.

Uh…

At least, most of them are.

A while later.

After taking a shower and changing into a new T-shirt and pants, Hawke, with his single-shoulder bag, walked out of the old gymnasium and headed towards the school gate.

His independent hearing was scheduled for 3:30 PM today.

At this time, taking a bus from the school gate and then transferring twice would get him to the courthouse by around 3:00 PM.

Sitting at the bus stop by the school gate, Hawke munched on a sandwich while waiting for the bus.

Hawke watched the various vehicles entering and exiting the school gate and began to wonder if he should buy a car himself.

Of course, before buying one, he should get his driver's license.

Yes.

Compared to his peers, who almost all had a driver's license, he did not.

After all, Hawke had never thought about buying a car before.

But now he had the idea.

He didn't think about it before his Little Universe awakened because he needed to consider his future; after all, there would be no federal subsidies after adulthood, and he would need to bear the rent alone, and possibly student loan debt for college in the future.

The foreseeable pressure of life made him almost breathless; how could he even think about cars?

Did he deserve it?

He didn't deserve it; he might not even be able to afford the insurance after buying a car.

But now it was different.

If Hawke were to describe his biggest feeling after awakening his Little Universe, it would be a huge sigh of relief in his heart.

He had completely shed the pressure of an unknown future.

After all…

After awakening his Little Universe, if nothing unexpected happened, he would only have two choices for his future.

Living comfortably and living even more comfortably.

In fact, if he were a bit darker inside, relying on his awakened Little Universe, after forging his saint cloth, he could completely live like an emperor, where those who follow him prosper and those who defy him perish.

Power is might.

Might is fist.

Coincidentally.

His fist, currently at the speed of sound, would surpass the speed of light in the future.

But he didn't have such thoughts, nor did he have that 'I don't eat beef' idea.

At least not now.

However, after shedding the pressure of the future, Hawke felt that he should be able to improve his quality of life.

Among other things, he still had five Chitauri alien weapons hidden, ready to be sold when the opportunity arose.

Even if one alien weapon sold for a cheap twenty thousand U.S. dollars, five of them would add up to one hundred thousand U.S. dollars.

So…

Buying a car to improve his life didn't seem impossible.

Hawke was thinking, and just as he was starting to wonder why the bus hadn't arrived after such a long wait, a yellow Toyota corolla with the personalized license plate 'GW521' pulled up in front of him.

The car window rolled down.

Gwen, with her golden hair casually tied up, a delicate face, and a pair of blue eyes that seemed to see through people's hearts, appeared in Hawke's line of sight.

"Get in."

"…"

Hawke looked at Gwen, who was waving at him, and was silent for a moment: "No, I'll just wait for the bus, thank you."

Gwen smiled.

"Are you sure you're not getting in? The bus service is suspended today."

"Suspended?"

Hawke was stunned at her words.

"When? Why?"

"Noon."

Gwen said with a smile: "The New York Drivers' Union is on strike today. Didn't you notice there's no one at the bus stop?"

Hawke subconsciously looked around.

Indeed, he was the only one at the entire bus stop.

Damn!

Hawke took a deep breath, looked at Gwen, who was sitting in the car, smiling at him, thought for a moment, got up from the seat, picked up his backpack that was placed beside him, walked to the car, opened the passenger door, and got in.

"I appreciate it, thank you."

"You're welcome."

Gwen said, and after Hawke got in, she stepped on the gas, and the car shot out, carrying Hawke towards the Queens courthouse.

"Oh, by the way."

Gwen, who was driving, remembered something and glanced at Hawke in the passenger seat: "The judge for your independent hearing has been changed to General Ross, and the time has been moved up to three o'clock."

"?"

Hawke listened to this sentence, a question mark slowly appearing above his head, and he subconsciously looked at Gwen.

Gwen smiled slightly: "Your contact number on file was the school's, and the counselor couldn't reach you. I saw you go to the old gymnasium at noon, so I guessed you might be waiting for the bus here."

Hawke then realized, and nodded.

A moment later.

He reacted, looked at Gwen who was driving, and thanked her once again.

"Thank you."

"Again, you're welcome."

Gwen responded with a smile and looked at Hawke: "I'm the grade student assistant; helping students is what I should do."

This was true.

At Midtown High School, Gwen, as the eleventh-grade student assistant, was always recognized as beautiful and kind-hearted.

Gwen could patiently help students who came to her with questions, explaining knowledge points patiently.

For example, Daisy.

Even when Flash Thompson sometimes approached her, she would patiently answer his questions.

Gwen would also step forward when she saw a classmate being bullied.

For example, Peter.

Even when she saw her female classmate Maria being bullied by the cheerleading Captain, she would step forward to protect Maria and scold the cheerleading Captain.

The most important point.

Gwen's grades were also excellent.

So…

Beautiful.

Kind-hearted.

Good grades.

This was all about Gwen Stacy!
