Chapter 10 - Mission Operation: Commencement chapter 10

Yuan had prepared his fake ID the previous night, late in the quiet hours.

In a dimly lit room, under the faint glow of a lamp… His fingers moved silently over the papers. His face showed nothing.

For him, this was nothing new.

Name.

Date of birth.

Temporary work permit.

Everything flawless.

When he closed the documents, it was almost morning. Yuan lay down but didn't sleep. His mind had already made its decision.

Morning.

A new day had begun, but for Yuan, days were all the same. Only the objectives changed.

He ate breakfast quickly and silently at the hotel. Halfway through, he stood. Dressed in simple, black clothes, he added a jacket that concealed his ID. His weapons were not yet on him; today was not about speed it was about infiltration.

He looked briefly in the mirror.

Cold.

Steady.

Invisible.

Exactly as it should be.

He took public transportation, blending into the crowd. No one looked at him. No one noticed him.

Four stops later, he got off.

The Voskresensky Center was still far.

Yuan chose to walk.

The cold bit into his bones. Snow crunched under his shoes. His breath was even. His mind, however, was running through the plan, step by step.

Two hours later…

The center loomed before him in all its grandeur.

Massive.

Cold.

A scent of power.

Glass facades, armed guards, cameras.

Yuan paused. No hesitation. Only analysis.

He walked forward.

At the entrance, two guards stopped him.

"Stop."

Yuan calmly reached into his pocket. He produced his fake ID. His face held an ordinary, slightly nervous expression. His role was perfect.

"I'm a temporary cleaning staff," he said quietly.

"Started today."

The guards inspected the ID. One glanced at the other. A quick check on the computer.

Silence.

Then one nodded.

"Go," said the guard sharply.

"Elevator is on the right. Fifth floor. Take your equipment from the cleaning room. Don't dawdle."

Threatening eyes.

Yuan gave a small nod.

"Understood."

Inside the elevator, he was alone.

Cameras. Angles. Blind spots. Every detail etched into his mind.

He reached the fifth floor.

Entered the cleaning room. Dressed in the uniform. Gloves on. Holding a mop, he stepped out completely invisible.

The corridors stretched.

Silent.

And full of cameras.

Yuan moved from room to room, pretending to clean. But his eyes devoured every detail.

Camera angles.

Security patrols.

Emergency exits.

Everything was noted. In his mind. Flawlessly.

Then he saw him.

Sylas Voskresensky.

Platinum hair glinted coldly in the light. His tailored suit was perfect. His steps exuded confidence. The expression on his face… that familiar, arrogant coldness.

Advisors walked past him. Clearly heading to another meeting.

Yuan tilted his head as if mopping. But his eyes were up.

Cold.

Sharp.

Familiar.

A faint stir within him. Last night's car. That voice. That gaze…

But he suppressed it.

Now was not the time.

Sylas entered the room. The door closed.

Yuan remained motionless.

Then, slowly, he continued moving the mop.

The center breathed.

And Yuan was now inside it.

This was just the beginning.

The real game… was about to start
