Chapter Twenty:
Robert's Point of View
I walked out of the room, the echo of her words still resonating in my ears like a cold slap.
I stopped in the dark hallway, wondering in amazement: Did she just kick me out? Did that tiny girl dare to kick me out of the room that I own, and from the place where I am imprisoning her?
A wave of anger swept over me at her limitless audacity; I felt a desire to go back, to open the door and tell her that everything she sees and touches, even the air she breathes, is by my grace and under my mercy.
But I didn't.. instead, I found myself walking away with steady steps, while my pride boiled beneath my black jacket.
That little kitten was learning quickly how to scratch, and the biggest problem wasn't in her boldness, but in the bitter truth I suddenly realized: I had begun to enjoy this rebellion.
I climbed the stairs with fast, tense steps and ordered the guard to call Olivia to my office immediately.
