Chapter 122: Cooperating to Develop a New Move
"Is there any progress on your mission?"
Psykos controlled Gyoro-Gyoro and contacted the Wild Monster Recruitment Squad.
Also known as the Monster Association's Human Resources Department.
As the group leader, Slugman said cautiously:
"Your Excellency Gyoro-Gyoro, the mission has only just begun. Our group is still searching for Monsters hidden in the city."
"That Lord has issued instructions," Gyoro-Gyoro's voice transmitted through a small Clone.
"From now on, your group's focus will primarily be on the dark Criminal Underworld. Also, keep an eye out for any traces of human trafficking and report any findings immediately."
"That Lord..." Slugman nodded heavily. "We will certainly follow the instructions to the letter!"
Then he snapped his legs together, straightened his back, held his head high, and shouted:
"Loyalty!"
The other members of the Monster Association's Human Resources Department also struck the same pose and shouted in unison:
"Loyalty!"
"Work hard; your performance is under that Lord's watchful eye."
Psykos finished her last sentence and ended the contact.
Afterward, she collapsed onto the sofa, feeling mentally exhausted.
"Hey Psykos, do you really have to come here for this? You could have contacted them from any random trash heap!" Mosquito Girl stood before her, staring unhappily.
"...Are you saying that receiving and carrying out Lord Aokiji's orders is only fit for someone in a trash heap?" Psykos remained slumped in a relaxed posture, but her words were a trap.
"That's not what I meant at all, you bitch!"
Mosquito Girl was so angry that her wings began to flutter.
"Anyway, leave right now! This villa was specially prepared for me by Lord Aokiji!"
"Is that so? When I first became Lord Aokiji's subordinate, I lived here for several days. Lord Aokiji only allowed you to stay here long-term because he saw you were brainless and didn't want you running around outside."
"You call that 'living' here for a few days?" Mosquito Girl was shocked by Psykos's level of acceptance.
"Wasn't that just being trained?!"
"In terms of the result, isn't it correct?" Psykos felt ashamed inside, but she would never show it in front of Mosquito Girl. She acted indifferent, as if it were nothing.
"In any case, Lord Aokiji has invested far more in me than in you."
"Huh??" Mosquito Girl stepped onto the sofa, leaning down to glare at her defiantly. "How can your little bit compare to me! My digestive capacity is countless times higher than yours!"
This female mosquito with a head full of filth, is that even what I'm talking about?!
Psykos facepalmed, speechless.
"I'm talking about attention, importance, and the granting of power—things your empty head will never have the chance to obtain in this lifetime."
Mosquito Girl couldn't argue with her.
She glared at Psykos, puffing out her cheeks and trying to kick her out.
"If you're so amazing, why are you still slacking off here? I'm going to tell Lord Aokiji to train you for a few more days!"
"Whatever," Psykos said, completely unthreatened. "I'm under orders to find a place to hide and not interfere."

"This is the technique selected as the most suitable for Fubuki," Aokiji said, patting the Capsule Pod as he introduced it.
"The enhancement of Psychic Power is solid and not superficial. There are no side effects after recovery, and aside from a bit of pain, there are no negative reactions."
Tatsumaki pretended to observe the surroundings... but she couldn't understand it.
She then picked up the recovery potions and sensed them with her Psychic Power.
She indeed didn't sense any issues.
It wasn't that Tatsumaki didn't trust Aokiji; it was just her instinctive concern for her sister that made her want to understand the situation better.
"Judging by Fubuki's current recovery, the next enhancement will be in six days. You can watch from the side then."
"I should have come the first time!" Tatsumaki tossed her head, her small curls swaying along with the movement.
"Fubuki took it upon herself and didn't even tell me; she just ran here on her own."
She complained a bit about her disobedient sister.
Tatsumaki casually brought the conversation back to the beginning.
"So, what's the deal with that woman named Psykos?"
Her voice, cute as her appearance, was flat, but a hint of danger could be felt.
"Didn't she tell you?"
"Oh, she told me. A secretary," Tatsumaki said sarcastically.
"I'm referring to what she did before," Aokiji said, appearing very calm.
This successfully diverted Tatsumaki's attention again.
Her eyebrows knitted slightly as she asked:
"What she did before? Wasn't she just Fubuki's former classmate?"
"Through developing her Psychic Power, she awakened a 'Third Eye' that can see the future," Aokiji explained succinctly.
"She saw a portion of the future, and the tragic fate of humanity caused her a massive mental shock, leading her thoughts to extremes—you could also say she went mad."
Tatsumaki looked up in slight surprise.
That bloated... that woman is a lunatic?
I couldn't tell; she's actually a bit like those ordinary people who fear her power.
Aokiji saw Tatsumaki's skepticism. "She was defeated by me and then persuaded. Given her criminal record, she certainly can't be allowed to return to society freely. The secretary position is just a figurehead role to keep her stable."
"Otherwise, why would I need a secretary?" Aokiji, the leader of the Monster Association, looked sincerely at Tatsumaki. "I don't have any businesses to manage."
"Furthermore, if her precognitive abilities are developed further and used for good, they will be a significant help—not just for me, but for human society."
That seemed to make some sense.
Tatsumaki reluctantly accepted his explanation.
However, a faint sense of something being wrong in her intuition kept her staring at Aokiji with suspicion.
So Aokiji threw out another bombshell topic:
"I've developed a new Psychic Power."
"Huh? Always messing around with flashy, useless things," Tatsumaki said, looking at him with disdain. "Is it turning into some animal again? Or releasing water or fire or something?"
Aokiji didn't speak; he just held out his palm in front of her.
With a thought, a soft, bouncy Paw Pad appeared in his palm.
"Pfft—" Tatsumaki burst out laughing.
"What is this? It's so ridiculous. Did you turn into a cat? You even grew Paw Pads to act cute."
She reached out a finger and poked the Paw Pad.
The soft texture combined with the elasticity made Tatsumaki touch it a few more times for some reason.
It's... actually quite fun?
Tatsumaki had already passed the stage where she couldn't stand slight physical contact with Aokiji. She unceremoniously grabbed his hand and began pressing and studying the Paw Pad.
Like a veteran customer at a cat cafe, she held the cat's paw and played with the pads, unable to put it down.
"The Paw Pad is just a basic transformation; it can be hidden."
As Aokiji spoke, the Paw Pad on his hand disappeared.
Tatsumaki slapped his hand and commanded arrogantly, "Change it back!"
"Changing it back is no problem," Aokiji slowly proposed his condition.
"But you have to cooperate with me to develop a new ability."
