Yes, Raina.
After a meticulous interrogation, Luca had pretty much figured out her deal.
As a researcher working under Hydra, she had only infiltrated the Aurantius Group as a secretary on orders from The Clairvoyant. Her goal was simply to steal Luca's research.
However, right now, even her boss, The Clairvoyant, was nearly killed as a scapegoat for planting spies in Strucker's faction. At this point, nobody in the SHIELD-Hydra faction really cared about Raina anymore.
In fact, Raina wasn't exactly a die-hard Hydra loyalist. The only reason she mixed with them was to gain superpowers—to become what she called an "Angel."
Yeah, that's right.
In Raina's eyes, superpowers were a divine gift, and her life's pursuit was to receive this blessing from the heavens.
She just had rotten luck in the original timeline. The powers she eventually got turned her into a hideous hedgehog-woman, which nearly broke her spirit completely.
Right now, Raina was still in the early stages of chasing those powers. Previously within Hydra, she had been in charge of the Centipede Soldier project, which involved fusing the Extremis virus with the human body.
This happened to align with Dr. List's research. So, Luca decided to keep her in Sokovia to handle the local company operations while assisting Dr. List with his research on unlocking superpowers.
Almost forgot—Dr. List was actually quite an interesting character.
Like Raina, he only joined Hydra to get enough resources to complete his own research projects.
In fact, long before Luca arrived in Sokovia, List had already vaguely sensed that Baron Strucker was being controlled.
But he didn't care who he worked for. As long as he had enough resources, he could turn a blind eye to everything else. The reason he sucked up to Luca at the airport was just to secure more R&D support from the superior who could control Strucker.
Now, naturally, he would continue his research alongside Raina.
These two's research direction might actually overlap with the Yuri technology later on.
That was exactly why Luca decided not to kill off these two talented individuals.
Luca didn't plan to dive too deep into biological research himself yet. Human energy is limited, after all. If he could gather a "5/5" set from a bio-tech world later and instantly learn it, he wouldn't say no.
But for now, his real-world studies would focus on electronic and mechanical engineering. For biology, medicine, anatomy, and genetics, having Sherry, Baymax, and now Dr. List and Raina was more than enough.
"After I leave, don't rush into experimenting on the Maximoff twins. Human trials can wait. I might be able to give you some reference materials later. Report your progress to me at any time, and don't be too radical."
Before leaving the Sokovia airport, Luca instructed List and Raina.
These mad scientists, especially the bio-types, always wanted to jump straight to human trials. If they accidentally caused a massive disaster in Sokovia, Luca would have nowhere to cry about it.
As for Baron Zemo, the cooperation they agreed upon was already moving forward.
Policy support, guiding public opinion—the local Sokovian faction was gradually showing their sincerity.
However, in their eyes, the collaboration with Luca was still in a covert stage. It wasn't suitable to expose it to Hydra yet.
So since their last talk, there had been no public contact between Luca and Zemo.
As for Baron Strucker, he had been replaced by a new robot Luca manufactured. His real body was still under mind control but was secretly locked away, so Luca didn't need to explain anything to him.
After I get back, I need to draft the blueprints for the folding base first. Otherwise, who knows when I'll be able to synthesize the MCV.
In fact, among all the "Synthesis Materials" for the [Yuri Construction Yard], this was the only troublesome one.
The others, like production lines, robotic arms, and signal towers, could be built anytime.
Even the intimidating-sounding "Bio-Reactor" shouldn't be an issue. Based on Luca's experience with the System, building a waste-to-energy plant or a microbial fuel cell would likely pass the synthesis check.
Efficiency didn't matter; as long as the specs were sufficient, the System's judgment usually passed it.
The only headache was the "Foldable Industrial Base." Not only were there no ready-made references, but normal people wouldn't even think of researching such a bizarre thing.
Luca had to design it from scratch himself, then send the blueprints to Sokovia for construction.
But this is good. Building such a large-scale transformable device will serve as a technical reserve for the transforming frame needed for the spaceship later.
Luca hadn't forgotten that he still held the cornerstone for his journey to the stars.
After arranging everything here, Luca set off for New York again.
However, this time back in New York, Luca didn't plan to just sit back and farm resources quietly. He was planning to make a few moves.
Aurantius Villa.
Luca sat at his computer, browsing through the data obtained from Hydra.
Actually, Raina's involvement in the Centipede Project had reminded him of a perfect opportunity for the Aurantius Group to intervene in politics—something he had almost forgotten.
Looking at the detailed images and data, Luca wasn't alone; his AI, Hakimi, was also helping filter and analyze the intel.
"I didn't expect Hammer Industries to be involved too. That woman really doesn't know when to quit."
"What is this? The Iron Man Villains League?"
"But what does Hammer Industries have right now? Just those half-dead connections?"
In Hydra's eyes, the current Hammer Industries was at best a useful peripheral partner. Naturally, the Hydra leaders didn't think much of them.
However, Luca hadn't expected Justin Hammer (or rather, his company) to get in bed with Advanced Idea Mechanics.
Yes, the data Luca was looking at concerned another peripheral company cooperating with Hydra.
The villainous company from Iron Man 3 that developed the Extremis virus.
AIM.
