Chapter 58 - Chapter 58: Still, The News Guys Are Something Else

Connecticut, Aurantius Residence.

The sun had fully risen, and the gentle breeze made the fallen trees seem to come alive again.

The villa, silent for the entire night, was now buzzing with activity.

A large number of Connecticut local police and medical vehicles were fully locking down the scene, while rapidly transporting bodies onto ambulances.

However, as the owner of the villa, Luca sat calmly on the sofa in the living room, watching these busy people.

Just then, Lawyer Simpson, who had been negotiating with the police, seemed to have reached an agreement. She left the helplessly-looking sheriff behind and walked straight towards Luca with her assistant, Foggy.

"Mr. Aurantius, you really gave me a surprise attack this time."

Seeing her distressed look, Luca just smiled faintly, not taking it to heart at all.

Although Lawyer Simpson was indeed called out of her home in the middle of the night to handle this tricky situation, he paid her well. Naturally, he wouldn't feel guilty just because she complained a little.

Hmm, and don't even think about charging extra!

Simpson was tactful. Seeing Luca didn't respond to her complaint, she immediately composed her expression, showing full professional attitude.

"Mr. Aurantius, thanks to the surveillance installed in your villa, the police have preliminarily characterized this as justifiable self-defense. They will only open a case regarding the intruders."

"However..."

"However what?" Luca asked nonchalantly, tapping the armrest of the sofa lightly.

"However, due to the significant lack of surveillance footage, we can only confirm that you and your bodyguard effectively fought back when the villa was invaded. But regarding the subsequent kidnapping, there isn't enough evidence yet," Simpson explained.

"Moreover, since the kidnapping location mentioned in your statement is in Manhattan, New York, this part may require cooperation between the Connecticut local police and the NYPD to investigate and verify the truth of your statement."

Hearing this, Luca just shrugged slightly.

"That's all the surveillance footage there is. As for the NYPD, once they find that warehouse, the truth will naturally come out."

"As for the remaining work, isn't that exactly why I hired a big lawyer like you?"

Hearing Luca say this, Simpson showed a professional smile.

"Naturally. In fact, many of my old clients live in the villas near yours. The entire community committee takes this attack by thugs very seriously. They will jointly pressure the Connecticut Police Department and keep a close eye on this matter."

"Later, I will contact some old friends in the media and prepare a press release based on the Connecticut Police Department's statement. I believe even the NYPD wouldn't want the impact of this incident to expand further."

Taking a document full of sticky notes from Foggy beside her, she handed it to Luca.

"But before that, for the media and the community committee, Mr. Aurantius, you need to sign this authorization letter first."

Luca quickly scanned the content of the authorization letter, then took out a fountain pen, fluently signed his name on the paper, and smilingly handed it back to Simpson.

"As expected of a professional, you always handle these things flawlessly."

Simpson took the document and looked at the police cars gradually leaving outside, saying softly.

"Your safety is the greatest compliment to us."

However, at this moment, perhaps feeling that the formal work between Simpson and Luca was done, Foggy, who had been silent beside her, looked at Luca with a complex expression and asked.

"Mr. Aurantius, does the turmoil in Hell's Kitchen last night really have nothing to do with you?"

But as soon as he asked this, before Luca could say anything, he was sternly interrupted by Simpson.

"Shut up! Nelson! Are you making baseless accusations against an important client of the firm?!"

After speaking, Simpson ignored Foggy's expression and immediately switched to an apologetic smile, turning to Luca.

"Apologies, Mr. Aurantius. As you know, these young intern lawyers always have some unrealistic associations."

Hearing this, Luca just shrugged to show he didn't mind, then looked at the embarrassed Foggy with an innocent face.

"It's nothing. But having been kidnapped since last night until now, I haven't had time to pay attention to the news. What Hell's Kitchen turmoil is Mr. Foggy referring to?"

This time, without waiting for Foggy to explain, Simpson proactively said.

"Just some insignificant gossip. But look, it's getting late. We still need to return to the firm to handle this case..."

"Alright, then I'll trouble Ms. Simpson with it," Luca smiled indifferently.

Seeing this, Simpson bowed slightly with apology again.

"Then we'll take our leave first."

"By the way, if Mr. Aurantius needs a temporary place to stay, I think several of my friends on the community committee would be happy to lend their residences to you temporarily."

Luca smiled slightly at this. He knew she was making up for Foggy's recklessness just now.

However, Luca really didn't care much about it. He just smiled and saw the two off.

Watching them leave the villa, he shook his head helplessly.

Looks like that share transfer contract can't be handled by Rand Enterprises' law firm.

Thinking about this, Luca casually picked up the tablet beside him and browsed through today's morning news.

The tablet prominently displayed—

[Explosive! New York's Largest Underground Gang Collapses! The Culprit Plunging Hell's Kitchen into Chaos is Him!]

Seeing the photo of Kingpin, the emperor who once hid in the darkness, prominently displayed on the news homepage, Luca's mouth twitched subconsciously.

Still, these news guys are something else...

On the other side, Shamila, having just hung up the phone, trotted over to Luca and whispered, leaning down.

"Master, Shield Mountain and the others are settled in."

Hearing this, Luca's expression didn't change, and he just nodded slightly.

"Let them rest for two days."

Considering that the existence of Turn A Squad was somewhat abrupt, Luca's script for tonight didn't include them.

So before arriving at the villa, they got off the car ahead of time with Shamila, leaving Luca to return to the villa alone to deal with the police.

Now that they were settled and the biggest threat, Kingpin, was gone, Luca didn't plan to recall them immediately.

"Wait for the heat to die down in a couple of days. I'll bring them along when I pick Mother up to come home."

Seeing Luca had made his decision, Shamila prepared to leave and notify Shield Mountain and the others by phone.

But Luca stopped her immediately.

"By the way, Auntie Shamila, help me prepare some more things."
