Chapter 5 - Seven years later

...

The morning atmosphere is always never changing, especially before sunrise.

The cock crowed, the birds all on a tree chirped, however, a particular bird, flew from his group, and went straight to a certain direction,

Heading straight to a certain mansion, it continued to fly until it reached the window of a certain room.

For some reason, the window was open making entry easier for it, this room turned out to be the room of a certain child.

The room of a kid, this kid was on his bed, asleep.

He had snow white hair, a calm gaze dressed in some sleeping clothes, and covered by a blanket.

This bird moved closer to the kid, trying to sit in the kid it was met with a sudden barrier, due to this the bird tried to move but, suddenly his left leg froze in a glacier of ice.

This frozen leg broke leaving the bird one legged as it stumbled waking the young boy up.

"Huh it's morning already ?" The boy said lazily as he ruffled his hair, blocking the rays of sunlight with his elbow.

He lazily dragged himself not even noticing the poor bird freezing to death under his aura.

Soon enough he reached outside his room, caught by the sounds of clashing weapons.

Reaching the training grounds he saw people spectating two people in particular.

"Clang, clang"

Swords clashed, and He watched the two

One was Lena, his twin, she had raven hair, dressed in a training kit, and the other was their stepbrother Cain , muscular, blonde hair and a perfect composure and swordsmanship

The sun was just starting to peek over the horizon, casting a warm glow over the training grounds.

A few familiar faces stood afar watching them spar, majorly his step siblings .

Lena's wooden sword sliced through the air, its soft whoosh a gentle precursor to the solid thwack as it clashed with Cain's own wooden blade. The training grounds echoed with the rhythmic sound of their sparring, the smell of dew-kissed earth and polished wood filling the air. Cain stumbled back, his footwork momentarily off-balance, and Lena pressed her advantage. Her sword flashed in the morning light, striking true, but Cain barely avoided the blow, his own sword rising to meet hers in a defensive motion. The wooden swords creaked and groaned under the force of their strikes, but neither fighter held back. Sweat dripped from their brows, their breathing growing more labored as the match wore on. Lena's ponytail bounced behind her as she spun, her movements fluid and precise. Cain's eyes narrowed, his focus solely on the dance of swords between them. The sound of clashing wood grew more intense.

The white haired kid only observed from afar as both siblings clashed, although it seems like his twin had the advantage, it was totally different, Cain was the one with the advantage, the way he deflected Lena's blows was calculated, his sapphire eyes glowed.

Looking at how things were progressing, his sister had improved so much over seven years, her growth was simply overwhelming but oh well, she was an S rank after all, unlike him.

As the clash of swords continued it appeared that it was about to end, but just as Lena was about to land a final strike, a certain white haired kid interrupted.

"Morning Lena" he spoke, yawning as a he walked to the area

Just with that, Lena lost focus as she heard her twin called, this was all Cain needed to turn the tables, they were both even from the start and he had been stalling for an opening, with a precise and calculated way he swung his sword and strikes it in her neck.

Just like that, the spar came to an end .

"Looks like I lost again brother" , Lena said as she politely bowed, "thank you for the spar".

"No at all, I only won because of experience, your growth is simply surprising, you'll surpass me any moment now" he said with a smile on his face .

"Besides, you were distracted", his time suddenly turned colder "by that failure", it was as if his voice dropped filled with disgust.

"Brother, don't say that, Leon is not a failure" she retorted immediately, defending her twin.

"Hmph, say all you want, that won't change the truth if the matter, a trash E rank is a nobody in this family, he is nothing but a failure, don't let him drag you down" Cain said, his voice dripping with pure disgust and hatred, as he dropped his wooden sword and headed out.

"Little sis, I knew you were always amazing, see the way you went toe to tow with brother" a lady came running to her just as Cain left.

"Oh, Big sis Rosa, it's still nothing I lost after all" she said try to avoid the matter as much as possible.

She had blonde hair just like Cain but was way taller than him, and also older, being the first daughter of the family and with an A rank talent she has a bit of pride in herself, not only that, but she also had a bit admiration for her younger sister.

Why ? Of course it's because she was an S rank.

"Of course not, you were so close to beating him, if not for that failure" she said, her voice also dripping with hate.

"Anyways, I've got a quest to do, so I've gotta go, see you later" Rosa said with a beaming smile .

Seeing Rosa leave her, she could only sigh as she sighted her twin approaching her from afar .

She sighed, nobody would get it, not at all, it was only her that knew after all.
