Chapter 2 - "The world that tought him wonder"

Kartik stood at the edge of his thoughts, torn between longing and wonder. A part of him ached to return to his own world, to the familiar gravity of reality. Yet another part—stronger, louder—burned with curiosity. What lay beyond imagination he wants to see Eisha's world. And so, when Eisha offered to show him her world, Kartik chose wonder over fear.

Together, Kartik, Eisha, Dort, Aemma, climbed out through the window and stepped onto outside they were standing above a transparent wall below there legs what looked like a window station suspended in midair, they can see the whole city view . Before Kartik could even question it, a long train drifted toward them—floating silently, as if the sky itself were carrying it. One by one, its gates opened.

They stepped inside.

The train began its journey smoothly, gliding past towering buildings that seemed alive with magic. Kartik sat by the window, his breath caught in his chest. Outside, the city unfolded like a dream—he see beautiful bridges , and paths, also structures that defied logic. His eyes struggled to believe what they were seeing. Every moment felt miraculous.

Slowly, the train moved beyond the city. Its tracks descended from the air and touched solid ground. As the city faded behind them, the world opened wide. When the train finally stopped at the second-last station, they stepped out into sunlight.

Before Kartik stretched he saw a vast grassland, endless and free. Strange and beautiful creatures roamed the land—birds larger than any he had known soaring through the sky, hippopotamus-like animals resting near a clear lake, and horses with elegant horns racing across the fields. Cows grazed peacefully, just like in his own world, grounding the magic in something familiar. Bunch of ducks with a very thich hair are walking in the lake direction

Then Kartik noticed the smallest wonders.

Tiny creatures called dooms fluttered around them—round, soft beings with little wings that allowed them to hop and float. Their faces were cute and gentle, their colors bright, most of them glowing yellow like drops of sunshine.

Eisha smiled at his amazement.

"In our world," she said, " animals has its own land. No one harms them."

Kartik thanked Eisha, Dort, and Aemma quietly, overwhelmed by gratitude. At that moment, a baby doom landed softly on his head, as if choosing him. Kartik laughed in surprise as it nuzzled him with affection. Soon, he and Eisha were playing with it, and before they knew it, dozens of dooms surrounded them, filling the air with joy. They were impossibly soft, warm, and alive with happiness.

Time slipped away unnoticed.

The sun slowly dipped below the horizon, painting the sky in its the time of sunset, while the moon rose gently to claim the night. At night they sat together on the grass, gazing upward as the sky filled with countless stars. It was looking like as they were in the space

"I've seen the most beautiful sunset and night of my life," Kartik whispered.

Dort soon approached Kartik and asked him to help gather wood for a bonfire. Together, they walked into the forest bordering the grassland. The deeper they went, the darker it became. Suddenly, Kartik heard a sound—low, distant, unsettling.

He warned Dort, but Dort brushed it aside.

Then the sound came again.

This time, Dort froze. Fear flickered across his face as he explained that hunting species lived deep in the forest—creatures that preyed on animals and even humans. They rarely came out, but they hunted in groups. Even with magic, Dort could not face many at once.

Kartik's heart raced.

They gathered the wood quickly and hurried back, the sounds echoing behind them like a warning. Once safe, they lit the bonfire. Warm flames as Kartik, Eisha, Dort, and Aemma sat close together, laughter easing the tension.

"these day," Kartik said softly, "I'll remember them for my entire life."

They all laughed, the fire crackling in agreement.

Later, Eisha told Kartik she would try to reopen the portal to his world. Until then, he would have to stay. Kartik agreed without hesitation—he wanted to see more of this world, its people, and its magic. Dort and Aemma mentioned a grand function in the city was going to happen tomorrow, and Eisha invited him to a party of the function where the greatest magicians of the continent would gather.

"What if they find out I'm not from this world?" Kartik asked.

Eisha smiled. She already had a plan.

They come back with the same train.at night Kartik sees that the whole city was lighting and peaple were busy to organize tomorrow's function, at eisha's house they decided that Kartik would enter from the back door. Dort would help him to escape the security, while Eisha and Aemma would already be inside the party. Once the plan was set, Dort and Aemma left.

Eisha then turned to Kartik.

"You can't go outside," she said. "Stay in my room."

She told him to sleep on the bed. Kartik hesitated and offered to sleep on the floor, but she insisted. They lay on opposite sides of the bed, the silence gentle and warm.

Kartik was lying on the right side of the bed while eisha was sleeping on the left side. As Kartik stared at the ceiling, he wondered how strangers had become such close friends in just one day. He turned his head—he saw Eisha was already going in a deep sleep. By seeing eisha's calm, kind and beautiful face kartik had a little blush. He decide to not think over about what was going.

He closed his eyes, a quiet thought lingering in his mind.

What will happen tomorrow?

And with that question, Kartik drifted into sleep.

At Morning-

Sunlight spilled gently across the room, brushing Kartik's face like a quiet invitation to wake. His eyes opened slowly. He pushed himself into a sitting position and glanced to his left—Eisha lay asleep, her breathing calm and steady, lost in a deep, peaceful dream. Kartik smiled faintly and decided not to disturb her.

He rose and walked toward the window.

What he saw made him pause.

The entire city below was transformed—streets wrapped in glowing ribbons of light, buildings adorned with colors that shimmered like living jewels. It felt less like a city and more like a dream preparing to awaken.

A hand suddenly rested on his shoulder.

Kartik flinched, his heart skipping a beat, and turned sharply—only to find Eisha standing behind him. Relief washed over his face.

"You scared me," he said, exhaling.

She smiled softly. And said that "The function begins tonight," And tell him that a mythical creature will appear—one that can only be seen on this night."

Kartik's curiosity ignited. "What does it look like?"

Eisha shook her head. "Words won't do it justice. You have to see it yourself." Then, with a yawn, she added, "I'm going to take a bath. You can do whatever you like—but don't go outside."

With that, she left.

Left alone, Kartik glanced around the room. His eyes fell upon a shelf filled with books.

He picked one up and opened it—only to realize he couldn't read a single word. The symbols were strange, unfamiliar. He closed the book slowly, realizing something unsettling: he could understand spoken language here, but not the written word.

His thoughts drifted toward his world—how his family, his friends—searching for him, worrying. The weight of helplessness settled heavily on his chest.

Boredom soon crept in.

Against his better judgment, Kartik opened the door and stepped into the hall. Portraits of Eisha and her family lined the walls, their eyes seeming to follow him. A small table stood nearby, a flower pot and some books resting quietly on top.

Footsteps echoed.

Panicked, Kartik hid behind the table.

Dort entered the hall.

Kartik relaxed slightly when Dort noticed him. "What are you doing here?" Dort asked.

"I was bored," Kartik replied.

Dort frowned. "Going outside is dangerous. If people sense you, it could cause serious trouble—for you and for Eisha."

Not wanting to cause harm, Kartik agreed to return. Dort hesitated, then sighed. "If you must go out… we'll take precautions."

"The hat Eisha gave you," Dort asked. "Where is it?"

"In her room."

Kartik rushed back, grabbed the hat, and returned. Kartik request him to take him outside: Dort told him he needed help to organize the function—and together, they stepped outside.

On there way of journey they see Children played along the streets, laughter floating in the air. Adults moved busily, smiling as if joy itself powered the city. Under a long road filled with shops, Kartik saw things he had never imagined—strange objects glowing softly, tools humming with quiet magic.

Hunger struck him.

They stopped at a food stall, and Dort ordered a dish called Hed-Torado. Kartik took one bite—and froze. Flavor exploded across his senses, rich and unfamiliar, yet perfect. He finished the dish in minutes, speechless.

Later, they visited an old man's shop to collect items for the function. On their way back, they passed a silent road—eerily empty.

Kartik felt it then.

A massive surge of energy.

"That's Eisha and Aemma's school," Dort explained. Later dort tell him "The principal of this school is one of the greatest magicians—though still not among the top of the continent." With their conversation the journey end.

When they returned, Eisha was waiting.

She was furious.

She scolded Dort for taking Kartik outside, warning of the dangers. Dort blamed Kartik's boredom. The two argued—until Eisha stopped them both with a sharp punch to their heads.

"Sword will be coming tonight too," she said. "I got permission from my father."

Kartik's eyes lit up. "The floating cute animal? That's amazing."

"Now go take a bath," on dort house "go safely" Eisha whispered.

As night fell, Kartik and Dort dressed at Dort's house.they went outside to go to the function on their way. When Kartik asked why they weren't taking the train, Dort laughed. "The fare is too high." then kartik asked dort that how many time it take us to reach the function. Dort tell him that it wouldn't take that time but today's situation is different the streets were covered with crowd so it may take some time to reach.

They walked instead.

The roads were overflowing with people, lights glowing everywhere like stars fallen to the ground. Everyone was dressed beautifully, faces shining with excitement.

By the time they reached the venue, the function had already begun. Entering through the back gate, Kartik searched the crowd.

Then he saw her.

Eisha.

She wore a flowing blue gown, her hair shining, her face glowing like moonlight. Kartik's breath caught—his cheeks flushed as he stared, unable to move.

She noticed him.

She walked toward him, stopping just inches away. For a moment, the world disappeared. He fall in eisha's eyes. As if he leave the reality

Dort shook him hard. Kartik blinked back to reality.

Soon, Aemma and Sword joined them. Energy pulsed through the crowd—young and old alike, alive with magic.

Eisha whispered, "It's time. The top magician of the continent is about to arrive."

Suddenly, the entire crowd fell silent.

From the grand doors, figures began to enter.

Kartik held his breath.

He could feel their energy.
