Xu Su glanced at him, a flicker of understanding in her eyes. It was a complicated subject. "So you really had a girl on each arm back then?"
"…It wasn't exactly a girl on each arm."
He didn't want to tell her about his reckless past, but he was also afraid she'd imagine something even worse. After a moment's hesitation, he whispered, "Can you please not let your imagination run wild? I wasn't that terrible."
Xu Su gave a noncommittal nod. "Then just remember what you promised me. Don't ever bother me again in this lifetime."
Shen Chen fell silent for a moment. Instead of answering her prodding, he asked a question of his own. "You've been to so many worlds and experienced something as incredible as rebirth… Do you think I could be that lucky, too?"
"???" Xu Su stared at him, confused. "Why are you asking me? How should I know? You're still so young. You haven't even figured out *this* life, so why are you thinking about being reborn?"
