「The next day.」
Claire Sinclair was jolted awake by her alarm early in the morning and quickly got up to get ready.
When she got downstairs, she was surprised to find a man sitting in the living room!
'Am I seeing things?!'
Startled, Claire Sinclair rushed over to him. "Mr. Quincy, what are you doing here so early? Is something wrong?"
Adrian Quincy sat on the sofa, his legs crossed casually. He held a tablet, his eyes fixed on whatever he was browsing, not sparing her a single glance.
"Go eat breakfast. I'll take you to work afterward."
"N-no, it's okay. I can just take the bus."
"Don't waste my time. Go eat your breakfast."
"Oh..." 'As if I *want* to waste his time,' she grumbled to herself.
Claire Sinclair walked into the dining room and was startled yet again by the sight of ham sandwiches, eggs, and milk on the table.
'Where did this breakfast come from?'
Claire Sinclair glanced back at the man's back, wanting to say something but holding her tongue.
