When the police car arrived at the factory, the troublemakers downstairs were still completely bewildered.
They didn't understand how such a trivial matter had even gotten the police involved.

When they arrived and saw a crowd of over twenty people gathered there, not working and causing a scene, their expressions immediately hardened.
"Who put you up to causing trouble here? Do you realize you're breaking the law?" one of the older officers stepped forward and demanded coldly.
None of them had ever been in a situation like this, and they panicked instantly.
One of them pointed at Megan Aldridge and blurted out, "Officer, it wasn't our idea! It was her! All her! She's the one who told us Accountant Winslow set up some 'Discipline Committee' that would get paid by deducting money from our wages. We just got worked up and came to protest to the factory manager."
