Cassian's blood boiled at her words. If she weren't Aiden Avery's little sister, he wouldn't bother with her at all.
'Fine,' he thought, 'I'm done playing the good guy.' With that, Cassian pointed to the door and roared, "You're right. I have no right to tell you what to do. So, Amelia Avery, get the hell out. Right now."

Tears welled up in Amelia's eyes, threatening to spill. She had expected this kind of confrontation before she came, but she wasn't afraid. 'Even if he doesn't like me,' she resolved, 'I'm going to claim him. He can forget about shaking me off in this lifetime.'
She fought back her tears, merely glancing at Cassian without a word. She grabbed the bottle of red wine from the table, poured herself a glass, and tilted her head back to down it.
At that, Cassian was about to lose his mind. He snatched the glass from her hand. "You're too young to be drinking."
"If you can drink, so can I," Amelia retorted defiantly.
