Rona Langdon, however, hadn't had her fill yet. She stood at the door and called out to them, "Come back and visit tomorrow!"
A few of the ladies called back in agreement, and Zachary Preston's expression grew even darker.
Vera Xavier brought the dishes to the table. Guilt flickered in Zachary Preston's eyes. Noticing Cara Preston wasn't there, he asked, "Did Cara go to her classmate's house to study again?"
Vera Xavier nodded. Zachary Preston frowned, then said, "When Cara gets back, I'll talk to her and tell her not to go to her classmate's house to study anymore. If she's home, you can ask her about anything you don't understand."
Vera Xavier knew he meant well, so she nodded.
But Rona Langdon flew into a rage. "It's useless even if Cara is at home! With Vera's IQ and grades, she'll never be a good student in her entire life, not unless a scholarly god descends into our home."
