The members of the small and medium-sized tribes had just finished eating and were sitting outside their simple houses, talking about the day's taro, when they saw Chang Ye. His face was beaming as he led an equally cheerful group of slaves carrying basket after basket of taro toward the back of the tribe.
A tall, strong Beastman was taken aback for a moment, then stood up and called out a greeting, "Chang Ye, moving food, huh?"
Flush with his great harvest, Chang Ye returned the greeting enthusiastically. He then gestured for the slaves to continue carrying the food away while he walked over.
'To be honest,' Chang Ye thought, 'seeing my former Clan Leader here in the Snow Tiger Tribe—especially when it's so obvious I'm living much better than him—gives me a certain sense of satisfaction.'
"Did you just finish eating? The taro is delicious, isn't it?"
