"Did you see the food I left for you on the table?"
Aiden Shaw concealed the dark glint in his eyes and spoke in a gentle voice.
Laura Lowell nodded and offered him a faint smile. "I've already eaten. Your phone kept ringing a moment ago, so I answered it. The caller said it was something urgent."
With that, Laura Lowell handed the phone to Aiden Shaw.
Aiden Shaw took the phone and glanced at the call history. Seeing it was a call from Ethan Shaw, he ignored it.
"Aren't you going to call back? They seemed to be in a real hurry."
"I'll call back later."
Raina Lynn, sitting in her chair, watched Laura Lowell with smug amusement. "Your new boyfriend is quite handsome. But doctors don't make that much money, do they? Can he afford you?"
"What, thinking of poaching again?"
Laura Lowell's lips curled in disdain. Her nonchalant attitude made it seem as if Raina were an insignificant ant, not even worth a second thought.
