Looking at Joanna Jacobs, Sylvia Vaughn could only think what a vicious woman she was, here for no other reason than to sow discord. "Hmph! Time has nothing to do with getting to know someone. I've known some people for a long time, yet they do nothing but heartbreaking things. It's true what they say—you can know a person's face, but not their heart. I truly regret not seeing that person's true colors sooner. I wasted so many years of my feelings on them! And speaking of which, my brother has known you for a long time, Joanna, but he still has no feelings for you. He's madly in love with my sister-in-law. I trust my brother's judgment. The woman he chooses has to be a good woman, and I won't hear any arguments to the contrary!"
Sylvia Vaughn's speech stunned everyone present. No one had expected her to say something like that.
'Who is she talking about? The one who does all those heartbreaking things?'
'Is it Joanna Jacobs?'
'What on earth happened between them?'
