Sierra Sutton stared at her for a moment, then reached out his right hand and slowly brushed hers away. "I once thought I would wait for you forever, until you let go of the past and turned to love me. But I don't want to wait anymore. There's no need to."
With that, he left the visitation room without another moment's hesitation.
"No, it's not like that." Autumn Shelby stumbled back two steps, her body weakly leaning against the table. Her eyes stared blankly at the doorway where Sierra Sutton had disappeared, tears silently streaming down her face as she murmured,
"Weren't you the one who loved me most in this world? You loved me for so many years, waited for me for so many years. Are you really willing to just give up like this? Sierra Sutton, you're just giving up on me... right after I became willing to be with you?..."
A dull ache suddenly pierced Autumn Shelby's heart. 'I'm without my baby, and now Sierra doesn't want me either!'
