Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: How Will You Take Responsibility for Me?

Nora Ainsworth jerked her head up. "What are you talking about? Don't you forget, you're her fiancé."

"So what? That's not what you were saying two or three hours ago when you were coming on to me." His words were sharp, hitting their mark.

Nora Ainsworth's expression soured. "Stop talking. I was in the wrong about what happened at the hotel. I shouldn't have acted out while I was drunk."

"Nora Ainsworth, you're the one who came on to me first. How are you going to take responsibility for it?"

"How am I supposed to take responsibility?" She struggled to break free from him. "I need to get out of here."

He tilted his head slightly, bringing him very close to her.

"If your parents and your sister found out how you humiliated me—"

Nora Ainsworth's nerves tensed. "How did I humiliate you? I was wrong to pull you into the water, but didn't you almost drown me?"

He narrowed his eyes slightly. "Who do you think they'll believe, me or you? If I say you deliberately did something to me—" He didn't finish, but the curve of his eyes showed he was in control.

Nora Ainsworth almost choked with anger, her eyes wide as she stared at him. "You—you better not make things up!"

"Whether I'm making it up, and whether I *do* make it up, I believe that's a decision you get to make right now."

"What is it you really want? Isn't me saying sorry enough?"

"How much is 'sorry' worth?" A chill was in his voice, which grew colder. "I don't want money. What I want are the consequences for you daring to disrespect me!"

'Disrespect? Who do you think you are, some ancient prince?' Nora Ainsworth thought, incredibly frustrated.

"Fine, tell me. What do you want me to do?"

He braced his hands on the wall, boxing her in, and looked down at her. "I want you to be at my beck and call. That's all."

'Easy for him to say. At his beck and call? If he called in the middle of the night while I was sleeping, would I have to go even if I was dead tired?'

But she still gave in. "Fine, I agree. So, how long do I have to be at your beck and call?"

"Indefinitely, for now."

'She almost wanted to punch him in the face. This was a blatant violation of a woman's freedom, you know?'

"Fine. Can I go now?"

"You may."

After she came out of the restroom, it wasn't long before she saw Leon Lynch walking over unhurriedly, a wine glass in hand.

"Why is your face so red?" His hand gently caressed it. Nora, embarrassed, gave a forced laugh. "It's just hot in here."

His charming eyes twinkled. "Hot? Right now?"

Thinking about the current weather, she couldn't really say anything more.

"Your sister was looking for you everywhere just now. Come on, let's go over there."

The two of them walked side-by-side toward a secluded spot, and she noticed that Quentin Grant's legs were unusually long.

He smiled at her, and she quickly averted her gaze.

'This wolf in sheep's clothing... does he think I don't know what kind of person he is? Despicable, vile! And a pervert!'

Sharon Ainsworth called out in a very friendly manner, "Nora, come over here."

Her expression stiffened even more. For Nora Ainsworth, who had seen through her true colors, it was impossible to go back to how things were before.

After a moment's thought, Nora Ainsworth still moved to sit beside her and said warmly, "Sis."

Sharon Ainsworth smiled faintly. When she was like this, it was truly difficult for anyone to notice her duplicity.

"Here, Nora. I'd like to toast you."

Nora Ainsworth took the glass and looked at her. "Alright, Sis. Let's drink up!"

She raised the glass to her lips and watched Sharon drain hers, but she didn't drink a single drop.

"Nora, why aren't you drinking?"

"Sis, I'm hungry. I'm going to get something to eat first. I'll drink later." She set down the wine glass and went to get some food.
