Jessie Sterling hadn't even finished reading the page before she slammed the laptop shut in a rage.
"Do they all just love to lie through their teeth?!" Jessie was completely baffled. "I'm so mad! What do they mean, some D-list influencer?! I haven't even done anything!"
Lynn Jennings was about to comfort her. She was going to say that many of the commenters were young, and most were fans—a notoriously irrational bunch. If Jessie didn't like it, why not just have someone get the hashtag taken down?
But Lynn had barely gotten a word out when Jessie, sitting beside her, flipped the laptop open again and began clattering away at the keyboard.
Lynn leaned over to look and felt her own head start to buzz.
"You're the D-list influencer! Your whole family are influencers!"
"So what if I'm not famous? Is it any of your business?! Who asked for a beauty contest! Did I agree to it?!"
"Are you so famous? Then tell me your name, let's hear how famous you really are?!"
