Lunch was at the hotel next door.
It was a buffet.
A group of bigwigs gathered, chatting as they ate.
Li Xu and the other young researchers couldn't get anywhere near them.
They could only eat quietly off to the side.
'It looks like I won't get a chance to ask these seniors for advice today,' Li Xu thought with a sigh.
'After all, they're all very busy.'
'They'll be going their separate ways this afternoon or tonight.'
After lunch, just as Li Xu was thinking about when to head back and say his goodbyes to Professor Gao, he received a call from the professor.
"Li Xu, come to Room 1007."
"I'll be right there."
Pushing open the door to Room 1007, Li Xu was surprised to find that several of the academic titans he had seen on the rostrum that morning were all here.
They were chatting while drinking tea.
Gao Guanghui beckoned for Li Xu to sit behind him and whispered, "Listen carefully. Opportunities like this don't come often."
"Understood."
Li Xu nodded.
