Seraphina's POV
"There's one way to beat them," Misha says, bursting into the war room at midnight.
Lucien and I both turn to stare at him.
"One way?" I ask desperately. "What is it?"
Misha looks uncomfortable. "You're not going to like it."
"We're facing an army of Blood Wraiths immune to Seraphina's power," Lucien says flatly. "I'm open to anything."
"The Sanguine queens had a secret weapon," Misha explains. "A ritual that let them merge completely with their bonded mate. Combined their powers into something unstoppable. But it requires..."
"What?" I demand.
"Complete trust. Total surrender. If either of you holds back even a fraction, the ritual fails and you both die."
Lucien and I look at each other.
We've known each other for less than a week. The bond connects us, but do we trust each other enough to literally merge our souls?
