Can I work with you? Ghost asked with obvious excitement in his voice.
What can you EVEN do? All this magic takes a lot of my energy, Lion snapped at him.
We were on our way back to where we arrived here. The home of our client was from another mountain and it took some time flying back. Lion is obviously grumpy as he spent several minutes of making a dozen mirrors. He lightened up for a while when the client paid him but soon became grumpy again when it was time to go home and Ghost INSISTED that it is his turn carrying me.
They bickered for a while until Ghost convinced me that he will show me how he usually travels by jumping very high (and I mean abnormally high!) and running very fast. Earlier, we flew by using Lion's magic and since Lion seemed drained by making so many magic things, Ghost told him that he doesn't have enough energy to make us all fly.
At the end, Ghost won the argument and we set out for the first mountain.
I was scared at first when Ghost made the first jump and yes, it was abnormally high like there's no gravity. I clung onto his neck and he held on to me more securely. I'm scared, I told him. He reassured me that he will keep me safe while Lion told him if he ever drop me, he will burn him to oblivion.
How promising.
I closed my eyes for several minutes since I'm not yet comfortable with all that movement but soon I tried opening my eyes slowly.
It's mind-blowing.
Ghost jumped with ease and I have to admit, it felt exhilarating. I felt more alive and excited. Ghost must have sense my excitement that he tried to jump even higher and faster than before.
I should have contained my excitement.
While jumping even higher, he didn't hear Lion's yell of warning that he bumped into a flying creature and accidentally lost his grip on me.
I screamed while I was falling down fast.
CUSS WORD.
....
While I was falling, it was fortunate that I cannot see the ground yet. I fall into some sort of clouds and while I passed through them, it felt very soft and cold.
Plus 1 on my growing list of strange experiences.
I heard someone yelling my name and I saw Lion and Ghost going towards me. They looked terrified.
They should be. Even I am scared out of my wits. I suddenly felt sick and dizzy. Is this some sort of airsickness? I chuckled.
Then I fainted.
....
When I woke up, we were back on the first mountain. I was wrapped with Lion's cloak and is being held by Ghost. He looked relieved when I woke up and is that a bruise on his left cheek?
I didn't see Lion and Ghost must have noticed that I am looking for him that he told me that Lion is gathering some leaves to make me a drink to relieve some of the stress I experienced.
I still feel dizzy so I went back to sleep.

When I finally woke up, it was Lion holding me this time. He noticed that I must have woke up and he looked relieved as he let out a deep breath. He told me to drink something he made and I did. It tasted something made out of sweet berries that is tarty and sweet at the same time. I felt my stress going away.
I didn't see Ghost this time and Lion told me he punished him by making him gather some fruits for eating. He told me to be mad at him but don't have a deep grudge as he is truly regretful of the accident.
I assured Lion that I don't have any anger at all since it was an accident after all.
You can punch him though, or I'll do it for you, Lion murmured.
I laughed and soon, Lion began to laugh too.
I noticed that I can see the moons and the stars in the sky.
It's beautiful, I whispered.
Lion agreed with me while he continued to look at me.
Oh. My. Gosh.
Is this happening to me?
I thought that it only happens in the novels. That cheesy line.
Yet it happened to me.
Romance is the last thing I expected in my life.
In my previous world, I was very awkward. Sure, I dated some guys but somehow I felt unsatisfied. I never had a satisfying conversation with them, since either they talk about themselves or something superficial. I guess it's one of the reasons why I lost my sense of imagination. I never had someone talk to me about something that requires a lot of thinking and feeling. I lost the feeling of romance and eventually felt that as something that can only be found in novels. Even reading romance novels doesn't make me feel that romantic thrill or excitement.
But now, something in Lion's gaze made me feel that there are butterflies in my stomach.
I stared at Lion's eyes and noticed how beautiful his eyes looked under the moonlight (or moonlights? Hahaha). He smiled shyly and began to caress my hair gently. I forgot for a moment that Lion is still holding me.
Um, what's next? What do I do? Should I say something?
I'm 25 years old for goodness sake, on earth though. I'm supposed to be a bit more mature than a teenager but right now, I'm feeling like a teenager. I feel like my heart is starting to pound uncontrollably.
I'm starting to shiver uncontrollably and that's when I noticed that the temperature is starting to get cold. Like REALLY COLD.
Lion noticed me shivering and gently place me on the ground. He sort of murmured a magic word and suddenly, flames appeared on his palm. He floated the flame and made it a bit bigger and I feel a bit warm.
The flames' color looked like a normal fire and I was thankful for it since it looked like an earth campfire (floating campfire though) when Lion asked me if I want it to be a bit warmer. I nodded yes then the flames suddenly changed color.
Nothing made sense anymore.
Though I remembered reading in the books in my previous world that the hotter the fire, the fire changes its colors into brighter ones. The color of the flame is light blue and I have to admit that the warmth of the flame is comfortable this time.
We heard some footsteps and it is Ghost carrying all sorts of fruits. He apologized to me while kneeling in front of me. I smiled at him and assured him that it was an accident.
You should have punched him, Lion muttered under his breath (which I unfortunately heard)
Ghost tried to make up to me by excitedly introducing the fruits he brought. I don't remember their names but they all tasted sweet, something like honey and caramel, with texture similar to bananas. I liked it.
Unlike the fruits we have on earth, eating a fruit makes you feel like eating a complete meal on earth. You feel satisfied and satiated but it feels light on the stomach. I missed the food on earth though.
Lion and Ghost ate as well and Ghost looked like he was about to ask me something.
What is it? I asked him.
Can I work with you? I can do deliveries instead and sell them to others, he asked with his eyes pleading for me to say yes.
I looked at Lion who sighed and nodded. He finally acknowledged that he needed help since making things out of magic took a lot of his energy.
Ghost happily thanked us and promised to be more helpful. He then asked me what I'm planning to design next. (I'm sorry original inventors!)
I want a better ice cream machine.
