"Why do you all guard against me? I only want to fulfill my wish."
The Man in Black was deeply vexed; his aura plummeted in an instant.
He knew exactly what kind of fight awaited him—of course he was terrified.
"Speak! Why did you trespass into Spirit Hall, and what is your scheme?"
Bibi Dong cut straight to the point, not sparing her foe a shred of regard.
Qian Renxue followed suit, shouting, "You destroyed the Grotto-Heaven Blessed Land—die for it!"
Mother and daughter still vied with each other; their feud seemed ready to boil over.
Hu Liena trembled at the side, too frightened to make a sound.
The Man in Black burst into fury, sweeping his spear and sending leaves flying as he attacked them.
One could only say his wits were lacking; though stronger than an ordinary Titled Douluo, he was outmatched.
Yet Bibi Dong was no ordinary foe. Seeing his move, she curled her lips in disdain.
Six dark-purple Spider Lances sprouted from her back, boosting both her speed and offense sharply.
Using the lances' tough defense as weapons, she clashed head-on with the spear; each blow released vast waves of spirit power.
The immortal mountain answered with a roaring gust, as though a lion's roar pierced the heavens, driving the tension to its peak.
"Worthy of the Supreme Pontiff—we're far behind. But luck is against you; this time I have help from an expert."
The Man in Black planted his spear and half-crouched, worn from disadvantage yet still boasting loudly.
Bibi Dong snorted coldly, giving him no chance to breathe; her lances gathered before her into a point, firing a crescent wave of light.
As the wave surged forward, it carved a meter-deep trench in the earth; every fallen leaf rose like a little blade.
The Man in Black neither dodged nor flinched; rather, he looked smug, meeting the attack spear-first.
Watching from the side, Qian Renxue sensed something wrong; a pang struck her chest. "It's divine force!" she cried in alarm.
"Realizing it now is too late."
The spear in the Man in Black's hands glowed with a grey mist, as if sneering specters drifted within.
The crescent wave evaporated like steam on contact. Before Bibi Dong could react, the spear-tip flashed above her head—so fast that even ninety-seventh-rank spirit power could not track it.
"Damn it!"
Instinctively shielding her brow, Bibi Dong tensed in dread.
Qian Renxue rushed in with her sword; she could not stand by while family bled.
In doing so she revealed her identity as the Angel God—exactly what she wanted, heedless of the trouble it might bring.
The sudden appearance of the Angelic Sacred Sword caught the Man in Black off guard; his smugness had lasted less than ten seconds.
"Move aside!"
Qian Renxue shouted; Bibi Dong leapt back at once.
The Man in Black's spear advanced no further; he spun around in haste.
"Miss Qian Renxue… you've already become a god?"
Shock seized him; in his panic he dodged too slowly.
The Black Veil over his face was sliced away by the light, revealing his true visage.
Hu Liena gasped, "Elder Snake Lance—it's you?"
Indeed, it was him. No wonder he'd seemed so familiar yet oddly awkward toward the three of them.
A Spirit Hall insider, the Snake Lance Douluo, had dared such reckless treachery.
"She Long, ever since you were titled Snake Lance, Spirit Hall has treated you with utmost favor. What vile motive drives this betrayal?"
Bibi Dong seethed, unable to fathom why an Elder of Spirit Hall would turn against her.
"Hah! Blame this so-called immortal mountain and divine tree—it scorns me and threatens my master's standing. Of course I had to deal with it."
Hints of schizophrenia tinged the Snake Lance Douluo's tone; black skull tattoos crawled across his face.
Drawing on experience gained from Chu Feng, Qian Renxue judged he'd been tainted by fiendish aura—yet something felt off.
"Have you signed a pact with demons?" she demanded.
As she spoke, Angel Power surged within her, drawing Bibi Dong's full attention away from the conversation.
Bibi Dong never imagined that the daughter she had barely spoken to in over a decade would return as a deity.
This was the Angel God; she herself had long been undergoing the Rakshasa God's nine trials and knew them well.
Yet it made no sense—after years of effort Bibi Dong had not even completed half of the Rakshasa God's nine trials. How had Qian Renxue done it?
She grew dazed. If Qian Renxue was truly a god, then Heaven Dou's fall might indeed be real.
The Snake Lance Douluo realized the same; the skulls on his face twisted in dread, his mind nearing collapse.
He forced calm: "Demons? My master is a god. Even you, Angel God, would tremble before him."
As he spoke, the murderous aura on his spear blazed fiercer; each casual swing dimmed the moonlight, and soon the Grotto-Heaven Blessed Land echoed with wails.
It felt as though the ground beneath them were iron bricks of a hellish prison, with countless ghosts and fiends moaning below.
Hu Liena hugged herself tight, standing on tiptoe in terror of the evil infecting her.
"This aura feels familiar. Snake Lance Douluo, who exactly are you working with? What do you gain by calling him master?"
Bibi Dong, too, grew anxious; the environment destabilized her mind, much like her past communion with the Rakshasa God—yet she dared not jump to conclusions.
"So eager to know? Then let me send you down for a look."
The Snake Lance Douluo shrieked hysterically.
He summoned his Tool Spirit True Form, enhancing every attribute of his spear and calling forth several black lightning bolts that tore the surroundings apart.
Qian Renxue raised the Angelic Sacred Sword, its radiance shielding her as she flashed through the terrifying night to meet him.
Bang!
Boom!
Sword clashed with spear on the disk-like summit, each impact spraying shards of light and explosions.
Save for the divine tree standing unmoved, scorched earth criss-crossed everywhere, thick with gloom.
Bibi Dong watched, entranced—was this the might of a god?
Yet the Snake Lance Douluo matched her; had he, too, become a deity?
So fixated was she on her daughter's display that she failed to notice the abyss beneath her feet.
A pair of huge shadowy hands reached out behind her, slowly closing in—and suddenly seized her.
Before Bibi Dong could cry out, she was dragged into the shadow that blotted half the sky.
"Still too late?"
Chu Feng had just stepped through the void portal—only a second short.
He glanced at Qian Renxue; her spirit power was actually being siphoned by the Snake Lance Douluo—had she not noticed?
Chu Feng flashed in front of the fiercely battling Qian Renxue; flames instantly blazed in his pupils.
"Oh? Here to rush to your death?" the Snake Lance Douluo sneered.
Chu Feng replied coldly, "You're not worth my time."
With that he summoned Primordial Chaos Aura, borrowing a wisp of the nine dragons divine fire cover's Samādhi Fire and channeling it all into his right palm for a supreme boost.
He shot forward; the crushing pressure like a colossal cauldron terrified the Snake Lance Douluo. When he brandished his spear again he could not pierce the divine force shielding Chu Feng.
Before he could think of a counter, Chu Feng closed in, raised his right palm, and forcibly clamped the man's throat.
Hovering in mid-air, Chu Feng advanced; the Snake Lance Douluo struggled helplessly with kicking legs.
Bang!
The Snake Lance Douluo's back slammed against the divine tree; Chu Feng hovered before him, calm and unruffled.
"Goodbye."
Without another second, Chu Feng twisted his palm, and in an instant the Snake Lance Douluo's life was extinguished.
