Chapter 8 - 7 A green sword suppresses the Seven Kills

This three-ring sword was unremarkable in appearance.

Its green blade had a simple wooden handle and was as straight as a line, with an elegant and simple color faintly emanating from it.

It was rumored to be the symbol of Jiang Ziya's identity, yet it had little record of appearing in the Fengshen.

But after Chu Feng weighed it in his hand, he realized this sword had the momentum of a hidden dragon emerging from an abyss.

The kind that remains quiet until it strikes, and when it does, it shakes the world.

He focused his gaze ahead; the shattered jar of wine had landed right on Chen Xin's head, and with the boost of divine force, it splashed all over his white hair.

The sword qi of the Seven Kill Sword couldn't even block some wine, leaving him in a quite pathetic state.

Seeing this, the disciples looked at each other, feeling slightly embarrassed.

Qian Renxue smirked; was this all the supposedly invincible Sword Douluo amounted to?

Of course not. Chen Xin was now fuming with rage, white lightning flashing in his pupils.

Renowned for his wisdom throughout his life, he probably never expected someone to break his sword qi defense so easily.

Thus, he was exceptionally angry and began to summon nearly thirty percent of his spirit power.

Immediately, thousands of lightning shadows swirled around him, and the sword qi within them swept away and repelled any debris in the area.

Seeing this, Qian Renxue immediately summoned a golden light shield to block the countless impurities.

The Glazed Tile School disciples, however, didn't react in time and were splattered with foul-smelling corpse blood.

But they were only startled for a moment before becoming ecstatic.

After all, being able to witness the Sword Douluo at full power was a tremendous honor for them.

"Beg for mercy now, and my sword might grant you a decent death."

Chen Xin continued his arrogance, but his tone was already crazed. He added,

"You slaughtered the imperial family; you can only die by my sword."

His aura was fierce, and the body of the Seven Kill Sword slowly emitted a bursting flow of light like blue flames.

Seeing this, Qian Renxue's brow furrowed. Nervously, she shifted to holding her sword with both hands, fragrant sweat trickling down her neck.

Just as the atmosphere grew heavy, a phantom figure flashed past her.

He even patted her jade-like shoulder and whispered in her ear, "Relax, watch my sword technique."

This was Chu Feng; his speed was far too rapid.

He was so fast that even the Seven Kill Sword's qi couldn't catch his figure; not a single speck of dust in the hall could touch him.

Chen Xin sensed something was wrong and looked up slightly.

The next second, a green sword appeared directly in front of him, and he hurriedly parried in a panic.

"You're too slow."

Chu Feng said confidently as the sword slashed past the side of Chen Xin's forehead.

Though the Sword Douluo appeared calm on the surface, his white hair was disheveled and flying. He suppressed his anger and retreated repeatedly.

Chu Feng was relentless, swinging the three-ring sword in a barrage of strikes.

The dark green sword qi completely suppressed the Sword Douluo, its glow reflecting green on his face.

Every disciple was shocked and tense.

The supposedly strongest sword in the world was actually falling behind an unorthodox practitioner.

Furthermore, Chu Feng's sword wasn't even a Spirit, let alone having any spirit power.

It looked like scrap metal from a blacksmith shop; where did all that energy come from?

Qian Renxue's expression was a mix of confusion and shock; she occasionally glanced at her Angelic Sacred Sword.

The Seven Kill Sword, which even a God-bestowed Spirit found hard to contend with, was being neutralized so easily by him.

Consequently, the Glazed Tile School disciples gathered together to deliberate.

"If we use the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagoda to support Sword Elder, the opponent's tricks would likely be rendered useless."

"That's a great idea. I reckon that green sword just has strong special properties but isn't actually that formidable."

"But... will Sword Elder agree?"

The disciples hesitated; after all, how could a Titled Douluo be willing to ask them for help?

At that moment, Chen Xin suddenly shouted, "Sixth Spirit Ability: Myriad Swords Return to Ancestor!"

He was truly desperate; using such a technique in such a confined space was undoubtedly an act of losing his mind.

He used his qi to control the Seven Kill Sword, stepping on it to hover. Behind him, several blue phantom swords with comet-like tails were poised to strike.

The Glazed Tile School disciples held their breath, their eyes bulging wide.

"Sword Elder is about to end the battle!" one disciple cried out joyfully.

Hearing this, Qian Renxue's face darkened. She wanted to rush forward to help Chu Feng; she was still quite righteous.

But Chu Feng simply waved his right hand to refuse; he chose to fight alone.

"Clouds pile and winds layer upon the high heavens; my path is ever green, breaking through the bewildering brilliance!"

Chu Feng recited a poem, and the sword qi from the three-ring sword in his hand extended for dozens of meters. The chilling cold of the blade's edge blanketed the sky.

Seeing this, Chen Xin felt a bone-chilling cold pierce his soul.

Chu Feng laughed. "Want to end it? Keep dreaming."

With that, he stepped forward into a horse stance, kicked off with his right foot, and charged with an unstoppable momentum.

Panic-stricken, Chen Xin released the myriad blue sword shadows, which poured down as densely as a torrential rain.

Chu Feng countered every move. With a horizontal sweep of his left hand and a vertical strike of his right, the mere release of sword qi was enough to dissipate the rain of swords.

He raised his sword again, and three layers of fierce wind from the three-ring sword spiraled upward.

Chen Xin held his sword horizontally in front of him. In the biting wind, his clothes and outer garments were torn to shreds.

Veins bulged across his arms and face from the shock, and his internal blood vessels were likely in turmoil.

Chen Xin only then realized that he had underestimated his enemy.

If he had surged to his peak sword intent from the very beginning, he might not have struggled so much.

But now that most of his spirit power was spent, how could he continue to fight?

This young man, so calm and collected yet striking with such ruthless elegance—where on earth did he come from?

Chu Feng continued to smile. "I told you, dealing with you takes no effort at all."

"To be honest, you're not much different from these aristocratic lackeys."

He scolded again, "Just because your old face is as white and tender as tofu, does that mean you can disguise the fact that you're helping a villain?"

Chu Feng's words were like invisible blades, most devastating to the heart, but wasn't that the truth?

In the original work, the Seven Treasure Glazed Tile School possessed enough wealth to astonish both great Empires, yet they were willing to serve the imperial power.

They also possessed the strongest support system Spirit on the continent, yet they lacked the heart to assist the common people of the world.

They were only willing to serve imperial decrees, for which the Sword Douluo was even an honored guest of the Heaven Dou Empire.

Therefore, how was his guilt any different from that of these corrupt imperial nobles?

Chen Xin's mind reeled upon hearing this. He wouldn't admit it, but he dared not deny it either.

At this moment, the Glazed Tile School disciples grew emboldened. Being detached from the world, they were naturally shameless.

"Stop your yapping. Among those in the world who can touch the Glazed Tile School, you're not qualified, kid."

"Sword Elder, don't hesitate anymore. Let us support you."

"As long as we can kill him, it will prove that we are right."

Ten elite disciples vied to show themselves, their attitudes extremely fanatical.

It seemed that rather than respecting the Sword Douluo's choice, they were more eager to show off the charm of the world's number one support Spirit.

Jian Chen fell into a conflict, but in just an instant, he nodded.

Because his inner pride was shattered and blood was trickling from the corner of his mouth, he desired not to lose even more, so he allowed it.

"What? Ten Seven Treasure Glazed Tile Pagodas?"

Qian Renxue watched anxiously as the colorful seven-layered small towers floated out.

The strongest offensive Spirit combined with the strongest support Spirit—this was truly unfair.

But Chu Feng only smiled. You know nothing of gods.
