The policeman shouted as he saw the ambulance speeding by, "I'll get you, you sons of bitches! I won't let you live!"
He said this while weeping and trembling as he saw Hamed eating his son, Mahdi.
But he knew they wouldn't die from bullets, so he started running towards the police van.
He got in, trembling, while Hamed was preoccupied. He closed the van door and started looking for the keys, which weren't there. He remembered that the keys were with one of the soldiers. He started shouting and banging his hands around the van. He considered going out to look for the soldier, but he felt it was too dangerous outside. He knew that staying might be even more dangerous, so he gathered several weapons and mustered his courage. But before he went out, he remembered that there was a walkie-talkie between the police teams. He opened it and shouted for help.
"Can you hear me?"
A patrol car, about an hour away from the farm, replied,
"I hear you perfectly well."
Omar began to feel hopeful. He shouted, "I want you to gather as many soldiers as possible and come to the neighboring farm!" There was a problem with the signal, so he couldn't hear him clearly.
"What did you say, sir?" he shouted. "They're the living dead! I shot at them, but they didn't die!"
"Dead? What? I don't understand. Is this some kind of trick? Be careful, you're talking to the police, this isn't a game!"
Omar shouted,
"Listen to me, you son of a bitch! I want you to bring as many of you as possible, and bring Sami Bey with you. Tell him the farm is infested!"
The signal was unreliable. Who's this? It's me, Pasha Omar. "You son of a bitch, answer me!"
Omar knew there was no hope but to search for the key.
He was sweating profusely, looking in the mirror at the living dead man behind him. He lowered his head and closed his eyes for a moment, imagining it was just a nightmare. Then a sound hit the glass beside him. "No! Get away!" he shouted. But he realized it was the soldier with the key. The soldier yelled, "Open up, Pasha! It's me! Open up, I swear! The guy's dead!" Omar opened the door. "Come in."
Omar entered and asked, "Where are the keys?"
The soldier was trembling and covered in some blood, but he focused after Omar yelled at him, realizing he was in shock. He started searching his pockets for the keys and found them. He laughed maniacally. "Here are the keys!"
Omar put them in, still trembling, as he saw the other policeman appear running from the fog. The soldier cried out, sobbing, "Don't open it!" Don't open it! He's not human! He died right in front of my eyes!
The vehicle started spinning, and Omar raced it, hitting the soldier in front of him. The soldier was thrown into the windshield, seemingly unfazed by the impact, continuing to shout at them. Omar stopped, and the dead soldier flew away. Omar raced on again. "What happened there that made him die?" he asked. The soldier looked at him. "The dog was there. I shot it, but it didn't die. I jumped on it, tearing its neck. It started trembling and got up, still bleeding. But I shot the dog in the head, and it died. I ran from it and found you."
As they sped down the road, they spotted an ambulance. Omar's anger and fury intensified, especially since they had abandoned him and fled. He sounded the police siren and shouted for them to stop, but they sped away.
Omar fired warning shots into the air to stop them. They stopped, terrified by the sound of the shots. Omar got out, holding his weapon. He ordered them to get out of the car.
The driver and his companions got out, but the doctor didn't. Omar shouted, "Get out, you son of a bitch! You're leaving me to die?!" But the doctor didn't answer. So Omar opened the door to find the doctor lying on the floor.
Omar shouted at him, "I swear, even if you're on your deathbed, I won't leave you!"
