Chapter 37 - Chapter 37: Reactions of the Major Powers

"I obtained the Power of the Demon?!

Doesn't that mean I can open the Eight Gates – Gate of Death whenever I want in the future?!"

A look of wild ecstasy spread across Wen Lan's face—so arrogant, so unrestrained, that it was almost frightening.

Immortality.

And not the fake kind like Hidan's.

His immortality wasn't afraid of any sealing technique.

He wouldn't end up like Hidan—cut into pieces by Nara Shikamaru, reduced to a head, and buried alive.

As long as Wen Lan wished it, any part of his body could regenerate freely.

This was even more absurd than Kibutsuji Muzan.

And this world didn't even have wisteria flowers.

He wasn't afraid of sunlight either!

On top of that, this world revolved around ninjutsu bombardments—there were no Nichirin Blades designed to counter demons.

The only real weakness was mental attacks from genjutsu.

But with the Sharingan, most genjutsu were practically useless against him.

In short—

Two words: Invincible.

Wen Lan's laughter echoed through the medical tent as he suddenly sat up.

Chakra surged through his body like a roaring tide, as if every drop of blood was screaming.

Uchiha Fugaku saw the three-tomoe Sharingan in Wen Lan's eyes and assumed Wen Lan was simply ecstatic about awakening it.

Outside the tent, the laughter was heard clearly.

"That's the kid's voice!"

Might Duy exclaimed in delight, immediately standing up despite the blood soaking through the bandages on his chest, and hurried toward the tent.

Everyone else showed expressions of joy—

Everyone except Asuma.

"Damn it… that evil Uchiha…"

"Why won't you just die already?!"

Asuma clenched his fists, rage burning in his eyes—but he didn't dare rush inside.

Might Duy threw open the tent flap. Wen Lan's laughter gradually faded, and the room returned to silence.

"Kid! You're alive! That's great!"

Duy's voice trembled as his emotions surged. Tears welled up in his eyes as he slapped Wen Lan's shoulder hard, forcing a grin.

"I really thought… I really thought you were done for this time!"

Looking at the man in front of him, Wen Lan felt a warmth rise in his chest.

This man… was truly worth saving.

Kirigakure – Hidden Mist Village

On the other side, Jinpachi Munashi and Samehada's wielder, Fuguki Suikazan, collapsed exhausted outside the Mist camp.

The guards rushed forward to support them.

The two had burned through nearly all their chakra while fleeing, not daring to slow down for even a second—terrified that Konoha shinobi would catch up.

A single attack that instantly killed five near-Kage-level elite jōnin—

No one would believe it if they hadn't witnessed it themselves.

The guards helped them toward the Mizukage's tent.

When Yagura Karatachi saw their miserable state, he froze, then frowned deeply.

"What happened?"

"Why are you back? Where are the others?"

Jinpachi gasped weakly, bitterness on his face.

"Mizukage-sir… they're all… dead."

"Dead?!"

Yagura's pupils contracted sharply.

"Who did it? Uchiha Fugaku?"

"No…" Fuguki said hoarsely.

"It was a five-year-old child from the Uchiha clan. His name is Wen Lan."

"He killed Raiga and the others… with a single move. One move."

Fear crept unmistakably into Fuguki's eyes.

"Impossible!"

Yagura slammed his palm on the table and stood up, roaring,

"The Seven Ninja Swordsmen together surpass Kage-level! How could a five-year-old do this?!"

Jinpachi let out a bitter laugh and recounted the battle in detail—especially Wen Lan's final, heaven-shaking strike.

"Mizukage-sir… that last attack was comparable to an S-rank forbidden jutsu.

Everything within a hundred meters… was completely destroyed."

Yagura sank back into his seat, stunned.

A five-year-old Kage-level shinobi—what did that even mean?

Another Hashirama Senju?

Or another Uchiha Madara?

Even if Wen Lan had used a forbidden technique to forcibly raise his strength to Kage-level… that was still terrifying.

Forbidden techniques merely squeeze out existing potential.

If Wen Lan could reach that level now, then in the future—

Surpassing Kage-level was inevitable.

Yagura closed his eyes and took a deep breath, struggling internally.

Finally, he opened them and made his decision.

"Spread his information throughout the shinobi world."

"Publicize that Uchiha Wen Lan possesses Kage-level combat power.

Publicize that he killed five members of the Seven Ninja Swordsmen in a single attack."

"Make sure all major villages know."

"As for his codename—"

He paused, then spoke slowly:

"Golden Thunder Flame."

This would be humiliating for Kirigakure.

But once the news spread, every great village would panic.

Some would attempt assassination directly.

Others would secretly issue bounties through the Underground Exchange.

One thing was certain—

None of the other Four Great Villages would allow this genius to live.

If Wen Lan survived and grew—

He would become their most terrifying future enemy.

"Yes!" the subordinate responded.

Shockwaves Across the Shinobi World

Within days, the name Golden Thunder Flame spread throughout the ninja world.

Kumogakure – Hidden Cloud Village

The newly appointed Fourth Raikage, A, smashed his desk to pieces with a furious punch.

"What kind of bullshit is this?! Five-year-old Kage-level? Are they insane?!"

What infuriated him most wasn't just the strength—

It was the codename.

Lightning had always been the pride of Cloud Village.

And now an Uchiha dared to call himself Golden Thunder Flame?!

This was a slap in Kumogakure's face.

Beside him, the veteran advisor Darui spoke calmly:

"Raikage-sama, now is not the time for anger.

The Third Raikage has just fallen, and the village is unstable.

Starting another war would be unwise."

"I know!" A growled, fists cracking with tension.

"But I can't swallow this!"

Sunagakure – Hidden Sand Village

Chiyo, Ebizō, and the newly appointed Fourth Kazekage, Rasa, sat in silence.

The Third Kazekage was missing.

Sunagakure had just suffered a devastating blow from Kumogakure.

They could only watch helplessly.

Chiyo sighed softly.

"Konoha… truly is a gathering place for monsters."

Iwagakure – Hidden Stone Village

Ōnoki sat silently in his chair, expression unreadable.

The atmosphere was heavy—oppressive.

Konohagakure – Hokage Tower

Sunlight streamed into the Hokage's office.

Hiruzen Sarutobi, Koharu Utatane, and Homura Mitokado sat around the long table.

Danzo Shimura stood by the window, gazing out over the village.

The room was suffocatingly silent.

Uchiha Wen Lan.

Five years old.

Kage-level.

The news hit like a thunderclap.

Koharu frowned deeply—she still couldn't believe it.

Homura spoke in a low voice:

"Whether it's true or not, we must take it seriously.

If such a genius exists, he will become an uncontrollable variable for Konoha."

Hiruzen nodded slowly.

"He comes from the Uchiha clan.

If he grows up, he may completely alter the relationship between the Uchiha and the village."

"We must plan ahead."

Danzo's voice was cold:

"Geniuses are risks.

If they cannot be controlled—then they should be eliminated early."

Silence fell once more.

Outside, the wind brushed past the windows.

Danzo's fingers tapped lightly against his cane, his eyes sharp and calculating—

as if a hidden plan was already counting down.

Finally, Koharu spoke again, steady and restrained:

"He is an Uchiha child.

Without concrete evidence of betrayal, we cannot act rashly."

Hiruzen exhaled deeply.

"The war is not yet over.

Konoha needs unity—not suspicion."

Homura nodded slightly.

"Send people to make contact with Uchiha Wen Lan.

Learn his intentions—and strengthen surveillance around him."

The tension in the room eased slightly.

But everyone knew—

This discussion about a monster-level genius had only just begun.
