Chapter 74 - Chapter 74 I Treat Everyone Equally.

Chapter 74 I Treat Everyone Equally.

The woman moved gracefully, giggling, "Don't be so tense. I was just a passerby, only wanting to watch the show. I didn't expect you, little fellow, to be so capable."

As she spoke, her soul power flickered around her.

Deng Mu could sense that this soul power was far superior to that of the man in black.

During the battle, he noticed that people were watching them, which was why he pretended to be very weak afterward.

He was certain that this woman had the same goal as the man in black: to kill him and obtain the divine inheritance.

Thinking of this, Deng Mu prepared to attack the woman at any moment.

This woman was beautiful, but he wouldn't show any mercy.

He wasn't the protagonist in some fantasy novel, nor did he possess any domineering aura that would easily make female enemies fall for him.

Besides, she was after the divine inheritance; he couldn't trust someone like that.

Although he was lustful, he treated all enemies equally. No matter what their unspeakable difficulties were, only their death would put his mind at ease.

Deng Mu feigned exhaustion, his body trembling slightly, panting heavily, and his grip on the Haotian Hammer seemingly faltering.

His eyes, however, were fixed intently on the woman before him, watching her every subtle movement.

The woman moved gracefully, pacing around Deng Mu seemingly casually, but secretly observing him.

"Oh, little brother, why force yourself? Looking at you, you probably don't even have the strength for another round," the woman giggled, trying to probe and trick Deng Mu into revealing his true colors.

Deng Mu gritted his teeth, let out a muffled groan, and feigned exhaustion, staggering a few steps to adjust his position, moving closer to a boulder.

This boulder could serve as cover and, if necessary, as an aid in an attack—a move he had secretly planned.

"Hmph... Don't be so smug. You're not qualified to kill me," Deng Mu replied in a low voice, his feigned weakness concealing a fierce determination.

The woman raised an eyebrow, intrigued by Deng Mu's stubbornness. Her soul power surged, ready to strike at any moment.

Deng Mu caught a glimpse of this out of the corner of his eye, his heart suddenly racing, cold sweat trickling down his temples, his face growing increasingly weak, his legs trembling as if he were about to collapse.

Just as the woman's soul power was gathering, about to unleash its attack, Deng Mu suddenly struck—he slammed his foot into the ground, using the boulder as leverage, and launched himself like an arrow, his Haotian Hammer, accompanied by a fierce gust of wind, crashing down towards the woman's throat.

This sudden, explosive attack, with its howling hammer wind and extreme speed, made the air around the hammer seem to be sliced by a sharp blade, producing a piercing sound.

The woman was shocked, never expecting Deng Mu to have such a hidden move. In a panic, she crossed her arms to block, her soul power surging to form a shield.

"Clang—"

A deafening crash resounded, the impact causing the ground beneath their feet to crack and sand to fly everywhere.

The woman staggered back, one arm broken, her soul power trembling, a mouthful of blood rising in her throat, which she forcibly swallowed.

Deng Mu, on the other hand, used the rebound to land steadily, his eyes blazing, completely shedding his pretense, his soul power surging forth.

Seeing that Deng Mu was completely unharmed, the woman said incredulously, "How is this possible? How can you be completely unharmed?"

She had personally witnessed Deng Mu fighting that man in black; he should have very little strength and soul power left.

Upon hearing this, Deng Mu curled his lips into a disdainful sneer: "Stop underestimating me. Today, your life is likely over!"

With that, Deng Mu swung his Haotian Hammer horizontally.

The woman gritted her teeth, enduring excruciating pain from her severed arm, but forcibly suppressed it, her face contorted with hatred: "Don't be so smug. The outcome is still uncertain!"

As soon as she finished speaking, her soul power surged violently in a vortex.

In an instant, the surrounding temperature plummeted, and a dark, inky mist spread out, from which faint, mournful howls could be heard.

Deng Mu remained fearless. His Blue Silver Emperor Martial Soul shone brightly, and his first soul skill, Life Shield, instantly activated, a pale blue light shield firmly protecting him from the encroaching evil mist.

"A mere trick, yet you dare to show off your skills before an expert!"

Deng Mu shouted, his figure flashing as he used Ghost Shadow Illusion, instantly transforming into several afterimages, weaving through the mist and heading straight for the woman.

Seeing this, the woman manipulated the black mist into several long, shadowy whips, their blades gleaming with cold light, twisting and lashing towards Deng Mu.

Deng Mu's eyes sharpened, his Purple Demon Eyes blazing brightly, easily seeing through the whips' trajectory. He swung his Clear Sky Hammer, unleashing the Chaotic Cloak Hammer Technique.

Each hammer blow carried the force to split mountains and shatter rocks, the hammer wind howling as it precisely struck the long whip, shattering it.

Taking advantage of the woman's shock, Deng Mu seized an opening, poured all his soul power into raising the Haotian Hammer high, and unleashed a powerful killing move combining the exquisite techniques of the Nine Absolute Techniques of Haotian, crashing it down.

The woman had no way to dodge, and used her remaining soul power to create a shield to defend herself.

"Crack..."

The shield shattered, and the woman was smashed deep into the ground, coughing up blood.

"Please, spare me! I'll do anything!"

Seeing that she was about to die, the woman hurriedly begged Deng Mu for mercy.

She was filled with regret; if she had known Deng Mu was so strong, she should have helped the man in black.

Deng Mu frowned, the Haotian Hammer hovering in mid-air. Hearing the woman's pleas, his face remained unmoved: "Give in now? Isn't it too late? When you wanted to kill me, you didn't hold back."

He couldn't help but sneer inwardly. He would never let this woman go; only a fool would.

It was already a sign of his kindness that he hadn't tortured the woman to death.

Tears streamed down the woman's face; blood from her severed arm had stained large patches of her clothes. With her last ounce of strength, she crawled forward a few steps, looking up at Deng Mu: "I was blinded by greed, I won't do it again. Please forgive me this time, I'll do anything you want."

Deng Mu's gaze was cold and hard, unmoved by the woman's desperate pleas. His Haotian Hammer, imbued with a killing intent, crashed down.

"Bang—"

A muffled sound rang out. The woman's eyes widened, her life instantly extinguished, and she collapsed to the ground, motionless. A wisp of her soul drifted away, seemingly whimpering in resentment.

She had never imagined that her beauty would fail to arouse Deng Mu's desire.

Deng Mu sheathed the Haotian Hammer, letting out a long sigh of relief, his tense nerves finally relaxing slightly.

He glanced at the corpse on the ground, his brow furrowing. He controlled the Blue Silver Grass to cover the woman's body, preventing anyone from discovering it.

After handling the situation, Deng Mu determined his direction and headed home at full speed.

He had thoroughly enjoyed the battle, but he wanted to find an equally matched opponent for a proper fight.

Near his home, Deng Mu changed out of his jacket.
