Fox and Wesley exchanged a glance. The Assassin Alliance's next target was the High Table and its subsidiary, the Continental Hotel. Internal conflict had now emerged, which was perfect timing.
Hearing John Wick's words, Smith realized the plot of John Wick: Chapter 2 was about to unfold, so he said:"Once you get that Dragon Ball, I'll tell you where the third one is."
"As for the blood oath, that's your personal mission. Go ahead and take care of it."
John Wick downed the whiskey in front of him and stood up."Understood."
Watching John leave, Wesley asked curiously:"What exactly are these Dragon Balls?"
Smith looked at Fox and said:"Explain it to him."
As Fox recounted the story, Wesley was stunned. He could hardly believe such things existed, and he was also puzzled as to why John Wick even had the opportunity to make a wish.
Meanwhile, Santino D'Antonio arrived at the Continental Hotel and said to Winston:"Manager Winston, could you arrange a meeting with Smith Doyle for me?"
Winston rotated the ring on his finger, then looked up at him."Mr. Smith isn't a member of the Continental, so it's difficult to get in touch with him."
"May I ask what I want him to do?"
Santino smiled:"He's already sent a message to Eddie. Anyone who finds a similar item can contact him."
Winston grew curious."So you've also discovered something similar?"
Santino chuckled and asked:"Honestly, I'm very curious about this man. He's not even a registered member of the hotel, yet he can enter without issue.""I've also heard he's killed many African Americans—enough to terrify people."
Winston didn't reveal Smith Doyle's identity but said:"If you inherit the Camorra family and hold one of the twelve seats, you can easily discover the identities of others."
Upon hearing this was related to the High Table, Santino realized the man's identity was far from ordinary."Please help me schedule a meeting with him."
Seeing this, Winston took out his phone and called Smith Doyle."This is Winston, Mr. Smith."
Hearing the voice, Smith asked:"Manager Winston, what's the matter?"
Winston continued:"Mr. Smith, you once assigned a task to Eddie. Now Santino D'Antonio has a similar task and wants to invite you to the Continental to discuss it."
"Alright, tell him to wait for me at the Continental."
After hanging up, Smith Doyle smiled. So the caller was that lucky man—Santino D'Antonio."Fox, drive us to the Continental."
Wesley asked hurriedly:"What about me?"
"I'll take you along," Smith replied. He glanced at Wesley."Do you have the gold coins you found at the Continental?"
"If you have a car, come with us."
Wesley reached into his pocket and pulled out three coins."I've paid the entry fee."
Smith smiled."Then let's go together."
The three quickly arrived at the Continental Hotel. Fox handed the car to the valet and entered with Smith and Wesley.
Upon reaching the dining area, Smith immediately spotted Santino D'Antonio enjoying steak and red wine.
Smith brought Wesley and Fox over, and they sat down.
Santino raised his glass:"Mr. Smith, would you like some? The steak here is excellent—my treat."
Smith snapped his fingers, calling a waiter, and ordered three steaks with red wine.
Santino looked around and smiled:"Mr. Smith, when you arrived, all the African staff nearby ran away."
Smith remained unbothered and smiled:"After all, you arranged this meeting."
Santino swirled his glass."I like the rules here.""No killing in the Continental."
Smith replied calmly:"But I'm not a registered member."
Santino, momentarily tense, said smoothly:"But you haven't broken any rules here, right?""Actually, I'm very curious about your identity—but that's not what I want to discuss today. I'm more interested in this."
He then took out his phone and showed a photo.
Looking at the image of the Four-Star Dragon Ball, Smith Doyle sensed its location. He saw only a short-haired woman following John Wick, holding the four-star ball.
Recalling John Wick: Chapter 2, the woman must be Ares—one of Santino D'Antonio's subordinates and among the few who could duel John Wick one-on-one.
At that moment, a waiter brought the steaks and wine.
Santino gestured:"Let's eat first; we'll discuss afterward."
Smith and the others immediately began eating, chatting as they did so.
After the meal, as the waiter cleared the dishes, Smith asked:"How much are you willing to pay to learn this information?"
Santino thought for a moment."How about four gold coins—three for entry, one for the information?"
Though the price wasn't low, the information Santino had about the Dragon Balls was still far from complete.
Smith shook his head:"Not enough."
Santino looked at him, slowly asking:"What do you want?"
Smith took out John Wick's blood oath from his pocket:"To obtain this information, John Wick paid the price of a blood oath.""If you're willing, you can sign a similar one."
Hearing this, Santino realized he had suffered a huge loss. If mere intelligence could compel John Wick to swear a blood oath, how much value could the object itself hold? Moreover, when he asked John Wick to act, he would not only have to sign a blood oath but also hand over the four Dragon Balls. At that thought, ideas began to form in his mind.
"This price is too high… is there another way?"
Santino didn't want to sign the blood oath—it could very well be a death sentence. Who knew what the other party might demand of him?
