Chapter 74 - Chapter 74: The Third Exclusive Jar

Among the three items, two were cards. Going by past experience, one of those cards should be Conqueror's Haki, while the other was something he could not identify yet.

Aside from the two cards, there was also a ring. Amon opened the system and started scanning.

Very soon, the attributes of all three items appeared before his eyes.

[Conqueror's Haki]: Advanced Conqueror's Haki card. Upon use, you immediately learn Conqueror's Haki.

[Ship Upgrade Coupon]: A coupon used to upgrade the system's little ship. Using it enlarges the ship's size, increases its defense, and adds cannon emplacements, granting it a terrifying offensive capability.

[Aethern Vault Ring]: A spatial ring from another world. It contains a vast storage space and also possesses soul-defense properties.

After reading through all the descriptions, Amon immediately broke into a wide grin.

This time, every single item was extremely practical. Whether it was Conqueror's Haki, the ship upgrade coupon, or the ring, they were all essential treasures for traveling the seas.

Once he finished appraising everything, Amon could not wait to start using them.

The first thing he used, of course, was the Ship Upgrade Coupon.

To be honest, he had been sick of that little ship for a long time.

On the outside it looked shabby and worn out, completely unworthy of someone as stylish as he believed himself to be.

It even affected his business. After all, if a customer saw a vendor sailing around in a broken small ship, who knew if the jars he sold were fake or not.

Besides, it was where he spent the most time. It was too small, and living in it felt cramped and uncomfortable.

Upgrading was necessary. The best part was that once upgraded, it would gain its own offensive systems. That was exactly what Amon had been hoping for.

[Ding! Congratulations to the host for using the Ship Upgrade Coupon. System is now upgrading the hull.]

As the system's voice sounded, the ship beneath Amon's feet began to change.

First was the size. It expanded more than tenfold. It could no longer be called a "small ship" at all. It was now a proper vessel, a medium sized ship.

Next was its appearance. The previously worn and weathered hull became magnificent.

Then came the interior. After the upgrade, the space inside was several times larger than before.

There was now a small lawn, a swimming pool, and even a gym and entertainment facilities.

There was also a miniature aquarium, where he could toss in fish he caught and keep them alive until dinnertime, then take one out fresh to cook.

Not bad. His style points had skyrocketed in an instant.

Finally, there were the attack and defense systems that Amon had been thinking about nonstop.

The defense system allowed the ship to project a protective barrier when under attack, larger and thicker than before. Its resistance to damage had greatly increased, and the ship would sail even more steadily.

Even if it encountered storms and towering waves, the ship would barely rock. As stable as a mountain.

The attack system, on the other hand, had added numerous powerful cannons along the hull. Amon tested their power once. With a single shot, he blew a small uninhabited island clean in half, and his jaw almost dropped to the deck.

Terrifying. From now on, anyone he did not like could be invited to taste the cannon.

The only problem was that firing the cannons cost a huge amount of money each time.

Yes, that single test shot had burned through one million Berries.

This system really did know business.

Even so, Amon felt the upgrade coupon had been worth every Berrie. Someone as handsome as him obviously needed a ship like this to match his status.

...

Once he was satisfied with the ship, Amon took out the Aethern Vault Ring.

Once he put on this ring, Conqueror's Haki and all sorts of curses and spiritual attacks would be greatly weakened.

Even the soul attacks of a Yonko like Big Mom would be reduced by many levels.

After a drop of blood to recognize it as its master, Amon slid the ring onto his right hand.

Then he placed all the items he did not need to carry on him into the ring's inner space.

Once he finished dealing with the ring, Amon finally turned his attention to the advanced Conqueror's Haki card.

He had already learned two types of Haki on his own. Once he used this card, he would become a user of all three types.

In the world of One Piece, Conqueror's Haki was set up as the most special of the three forms. It was ranked above the other two.

It was divided into three stages: basic, intermediate, and advanced.

Basic Conqueror's Haki was a type of aura that burst forth when the user's emotions were stirred to extremes.

Conqueror's Haki was not something that could be obtained through training. Its power simply grew as the user's body and spirit matured. In its earliest stage, the user was not even aware they possessed this Haki. It would usually erupt unconsciously when they became extremely angry or emotionally unstable, stunning people around them, but without any way to control specific targets.

Luffy during the war at Marineford was in this basic stage of Conqueror's Haki.

Once it reached the intermediate stage, Conqueror's Haki could be freely controlled by the user's will.

As their spiritual power grew, they could use it according to their own intentions. When to activate it, how strong to make it, and how far its influence spread, all of this was under their control.

In battles against large numbers of enemies, intermediate-level Conqueror's Haki could display terrifying power.

Luffy two years after Marineford was in this stage.

Lastly, there was advanced Conqueror's Haki. At this level, the user could crush opponents through pure pressure.

Advanced Conqueror's Haki belonged only to true kings whose body, skill, and spirit had all reached the summit. Their aura was constantly radiating outward. You could say their Conqueror's Haki was always in an active state. Its pressure was so overwhelming it could shake an entire ship, and even a hardened warrior could feel overwhelming pressure just by passing close to them.

Shanks and Big Mom were people at this level. When Shanks went aboard Whitebeard's ship to talk, a casual release of his Haki knocked out many new recruits on the Moby Dick.

Once Conqueror's Haki was trained to the advanced level, it already had direct killing and suppressive power against enemies.

"Come to me."

Amon crushed the card without hesitation.

A torrent of information and power surged through him. His vision swam for a moment, and then an indescribable force welled up from the depths of his soul.

Just as he finished familiarizing himself with his new power, an enormous Sea King happened to be swimming by, completely unaware.

Amon simply released a ripple of his Conqueror's Haki.

In an instant, the Sea King rolled over in the water, eyes white, completely unconscious.

Just like that, Amon continued sailing across the sea, testing his new power as he went.

...

A few days later, Amon's eyes lit up as a small island came into view ahead.

"Finally here."

He had been lying lazily on the deck, bored out of his mind. The moment he saw the island appear on the horizon, he immediately hopped to his feet, full of energy.

He had finally reached Syrup Village.

Right now, Usopp and Kaya should still be only seven or eight years old, a pair of little kids...
