After the sun rose and I had breakfast, I left the abandoned church. It was time to gain battle experience and obtain more soul fragments.
I wanted to use them to learn how to weave and create Memories. But first, I needed to refine my essence to become a Master.
Taking several leaps, I arrived at my usual hunting grounds. The Eyes of Truth showed me the dark stains that the nightmare creatures possessed.
"Good, that demon looks fine for a fight."
With a leap, I appeared above the demon, brandishing a spear I created with the Shapeshifter.
The spear drove forcefully into the demon's head, killing it instantly.

Extracting the three fragments, I lunged at another abomination—a Fallen Monster—which died incredibly easier.
My massacre continued, killing Fallen Demons and Monsters, and even the occasional Awakened Devil I encountered.
When the sun began to set, I was breathing heavily, my breath labored. A nightmare creature writhed one last time before dying.

"Finally, that thing died. Heavens, I thought it wouldn't," I said quietly.
Taking out the fragments and placing them in the Greedy Pouch, I took several leaps until I reached a high area. I watched as two flying nightmare creatures were fighting.
One was a Corrupt Demon, and the other was a Fallen Devil. Both beasts fought to dominate the other, causing great destruction.
I saw the Fallen Devil use its claws to pierce the demon's chest. But the demon used its long beak, driving it into its enemy's chest.
Both beasts fell to the ground.
Summoning the bow along with a poison arrow, I drew the bowstring and released the arrow.
It flew at great speed, impacting the body of one of the winged beasts. The arrow lodged deeply into the flesh. After a few minutes of waiting, I received the signal of its death.

"That's great." I watched as the Devil stood up, flying into the sky and away.
Further below, several nightmare creatures approached to devour the dead demon's flesh.
Moving away, I returned to the church, where I continued meditating to refine my essence.
Initially, during the first 15 hours, I spent time fighting nightmare creatures, and then the other 9 hours I spent meditating, manipulating my essence with the help of the "Eyes of Truth" to improve it.
When I ran out of soul essence, I went out to fight nightmare creatures and repeated the process.
The list of memories was increasing, now having around twenty memories and two Echoes.
It was undoubtedly a good number, but it wasn't enough; I was greedy by nature.
Exhausting my essence, I sighed, lying back on the bed.
Entering my sea of souls, I observed the seven brilliant suns that illuminated everything with great intensity and warmth. Around the suns, several smaller spheres orbited, along with two larger ones.
Bringing the largest one closer, I looked at the Awakened Devil I had obtained almost three months ago since I fell into this place.
Touching the sphere, a set of runes appeared.

"Yes."
I watched as the number of soul fragments decreased, the counter reappearing before refilling back.
I summoned the runes of my summoning.

"Those are really good abilities for a devil. Though, what is a Combat Core?" Could it be a way to make it evolve by killing monsters? I'll think about it later.
Stopping looking at its runes, I brought my new Echo. A large black crow with a body as hard as steel appeared before me. Its wings, beak, and claws were sharp, easily able to tear through steel like butter.

"Yes," I responded immediately.
I observed as the same process happened, a bright core appearing within the crow.

Good. I have two powerful summonings. Now to exploit them until they evolve. It should take about a month or two.
'Maybe three at most.'
With that thought, I left my sea of souls and took a leap, arriving at the upper part of the church where I summoned the crow and the wolf.
"Hunt whatever you want," I ordered simply. I watched as both shot off to fight nightmare creatures.
I watched them leave before taking a step and returning inside.
Lying down on the bed, I closed my eyes and fell asleep instantly. I was really tired.
