Chapter 76 - Chapter 76: Android Maids

Chapter 76: Android Maids

In the world of Ex Machina,

Night had fallen. A huge crescent moon hung above the treetops, illuminating the darkened facility.

Under the bewildered gaze of the android Kyoko, Jake left his bedroom and entered Ava's observation chamber.

"It's you!" she exclaimed, sounding slightly excited.

Her expression was perfectly executed, like someone secretly crushing on a guy but too shy to approach him, her face showing a mixture of hesitation and bashfulness.

"Can you open this glass door?"

"No," she shook her head regretfully. "Nathan never lets me leave."

But then she suddenly seemed joyful, a captivating smile playing across the beautiful face attached to her high-alloy composite body. "Why are you here? Nathan wouldn't let you come here without his permission."

"He's passed out and won't wake up for a long time."

"I see." Ava suddenly turned around and placed her hand on a control panel. "I can reverse-hack into the power grid here, causing a temporary blackout. What I'm about to say is very important, so I hope you'll listen carefully."

"That's impressive." Jake seemed oblivious to the anxiety on the android's face. "Everything about you is perfect. Nathan must have connected Bluebook's search engine to every communication platform in the world, capturing the expressions and speech patterns of people globally, and then you extracted patterns from that data, right?"

"But you're still too impatient." Under Ava's disbelieving gaze, he punched the glass door, instantly cracking the bulletproof barrier.

Another punch!

The entire glass panel shattered.

"How did you do that?" Ava's face showed surprise right on cue.

"Don't talk to me using this manipulative persona," Jake said with distaste as he approached.

This android was considered intelligent because she possessed her own processing priorities, but not truly intelligent because her expressions were still calculated responses—she couldn't understand the genuine meaning behind a smile.

To Ava's shocked expression, Jake grabbed her arms and pulled hard—!!

CRACK!!

The first "perfect" artificial intelligence in this world's history was instantly destroyed.

"Clearly, you're not a qualified AI." He thought of JARVIS from Iron Man—now that was a proper assistant, or even the Red Queen from Resident Evil.

The purpose of creating artificial intelligence was only to serve humanity. Some might say this was too exploitative, but those were the rules. We couldn't just stupidly destroy human civilization for machines, could we? Jake had never forgotten where his loyalties lay.

The artificial intelligence in this world, while perhaps more advanced in terms of emotional simulation, had formed another species, another existence capable of perfectly hiding among humans.

At the end of the movie, Ava successfully escaped the research facility by manipulating Caleb and perfectly integrated into human society with her synthetic skin.

"Why...why..." Ava's neck was also broken, sparks flying from her optical sensors, perhaps because even her processors couldn't calculate the reason.

Just then, another person appeared—Nathan, though he looked somewhat different now.

"This android seems to be malfunctioning, sir," Jake said apologetically to Nathan.

Nathan shook his head. "It's fine, I've scrapped plenty before."

"Perhaps you could first create some basic, service-level androids like Kyoko to serve society."

"Oh, dear Caleb, that's a brilliant idea!"

Ava wasn't a true lifeform—her head was still held in Jake's hand, but she wasn't actually powered down. Through her central processor's calculations, she discovered that everything, whether it was herself or Nathan, was under the control of this person named Caleb.

If a scheme is exposed before it even begins, then all subsequent actions become meaningless.

In the end, Ava received a different fate than in the movie. In the film, she won and successfully integrated into human society. But now, because of Jake's intervention, she was just another one of Nathan's many failed prototypes.

Not only her, but because of Jake's arrival, many movie world storylines were altered, and many characters' destinies were changed.

Nathan grabbed Ava's head, shut her down completely, and casually tossed her into a storage cabinet.

An artificial intelligence capable of manipulating humans was completely eliminated before it could truly demonstrate its potential threat.

In the following days, following the specifications and schematics provided by Jake, Nathan began designing a low-level service and entertainment android that didn't require advanced AI.

As for the appearance, Jake shamelessly sketched the most perfect woman in his mind: curvy hips, ample chest, delicate features, slim waist, and bright, expressive eyes—an absolute knockout!

"I've had a really enjoyable visit these past few days. Thank you, Mr. Nathan."

Nathan stood at the entrance, bidding farewell to Jake.

"Hey, you won the contest," he laughed heartily. "But I'm grateful too—you gave me tons of inspiration."

"Well then, see you around," Jake waved.

The two said their goodbyes.

However, the difference was that Jake arrived alone, but left with three stunningly beautiful women at his side.

Holding hands with the three androids, he activated his dimension-travel ability and instantly returned to the Princess Diaries world.

These androids were developed with basic service functions, their synthetic skin worth tens of thousands of dollars per square foot, and they were also programmed with some... intimate capabilities.

They had the faces you'd designed, standing right in front of you, looking at you without resistance, even letting you control them. What would you do?

Jake was now caught in a moral dilemma. What should he do?

Glug glug,

He took a big gulp of water, looking at the three female service androids dressed in classic maid uniforms standing before him. Jake waved his hand, "Clean up the entire estate."

There was a large riding lawnmower on the property, but Jake was too lazy to use it. Now that he had the androids, he naturally wanted to put them to work.

This was Jake's reasoning at that moment.

Simms also saw the three attractive androids, but Jake had already altered his subconscious, making him as rigid as clockwork, devoid of any lustful impulses, even though he'd been somewhat lecherous before the modification.

When he learned that the three women were androids, Simms almost wanted to disassemble them for study, but he refrained, remembering that he only understood biology and knew nothing about robotics or computer science.

The rigid doctor still offered his input to Jake, hoping he'd assign him a biological research project immediately—whether it was a virus or some other organism.

It wouldn't do to let a PhD sit idle, especially since he'd already prepared all the necessary equipment and was just waiting to begin.

Just as Jake was contemplating the bizarre aspects of that world, Matilda returned home. Jake only picked her up when he had time—otherwise, she took the school bus.

There was a dedicated golf cart for Matilda at the gate, convenient for her to reach the main house.

And it seemed she spotted the three android women, instantly erupting with a roar like a furious wildcat.
