Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: Mavuika: I Am the Pyro Archon from 500 Years Ago

Outside the Stadium of the Sacred Flame.

Mavuika had her arms crossed, wearing sunglasses, leaning against the motorcycle behind her.

Scorching air currents blew past from the side, slightly ruffling her fiery red long hair.

Those who didn't know might think she was the type to whistle and flirt with girls.

But in reality, she had actually invited two girls over right now.

"Mavuika, we're here!" Paimon waved her small hand from not far away, with the golden-haired girl beside her.

Mavuika turned her head upon hearing the voice, her sun-like golden eyes looking toward them, the corners of her mouth pulling into a faint smile: "Traveler, Paimon, thank you for coming to keep the appointment."

"I watched all of your matches; every one was very exciting. As expected of the hero who has saved multiple nations from peril—you truly live up to your reputation."

Hearing Mavuika's praise, Paimon scratched her hair, chuckling "hehe": "If you say it like that, we're going to get embarrassed."

Lumine slightly narrowed her eyes, looking at Paimon with a face full of disdain.

Stay calm, Paimon.

Getting carried away after just a couple of compliments from others—our prestige is all going to be ruined by you.

"What did you want to talk to us about?" Seeing that the mouth of the god wasn't reliable, Lumine had no choice but to speak up herself, directly asking Mavuika.

"It's an important matter." The smile on Mavuika's face converged somewhat; she straightened her body, her expression becoming solemn. "I believe you also don't like others speaking in roundabout ways, so I'll get straight to the point."

"I am the Pyro Archon from 500 years ago."

In that instant, the air seemed to freeze.

After a few seconds passed, Paimon's brain finally reacted, and she widened her eyes in shock: "Wha... what, the Pyro Archon from 500 years ago?!"

Paimon's little face instantly filled with disbelief: "Wasn't it said that Natlan's Pyro Archons are all served by humans? If Mavuika is the Pyro Archon from 500 years ago, then she definitely would have died of old age long ago."

It wasn't just Paimon; even the players seeing this plot were very surprised.

[Holy crap, Mavuika really is the past Pyro Archon?]

[I knew it; Mavuika couldn't possibly be the Pyro Archon's reincarnation—otherwise, there'd be no need to add the Traveler's doubt in the plot.]

[Since there really are two Pyro Archons at the same time, doesn't that mean the leakers were right, and the two Pyro Archons really have to fight internally?]

[The leakers also said the current Pyro Archon is colluding with the Abyss; I don't believe that anyway.]

[There must be something fishy about this.]

[If they really collude with the Abyss, it would be Mavuika colluding, right? She's clearly human, yet she's lived for 500 years—maybe she used the Abyss's power.]

[Mavuika: I colluded with the Abyss too???]

[Keep discussing like this, and the whole of Natlan will be leakers—even the winery won't compare.]

Genshin World.

Lumine pondered for a moment, connecting it to her own experiences, and guessed: "Mavuika probably used some special method."

"For example, falling into a deep sleep 500 years ago and only waking up in this era?"

She and her brother were defeated by a certain white-haired woman and then sealed for nearly 500 years, only waking up now. Mavuika might have used a similar method.

"Traveler, you really managed to think of this method."

Hearing what the girl said, Mavuika was slightly surprised: "If it weren't for confirming back then during the plan's formulation that no one else was around, I'd almost think you were there at the scene back then."

Paimon reacted: "So, Mavuika really used the method the Traveler mentioned to come to this era 500 years later?"

Mavuika nodded slightly: "Indeed, to execute the plan to save Natlan, I voluntarily entered the Sacred Flame and passed the long years in a special way."

In simple terms...

Natlan, I have returned.

"Save Natlan?" Hearing what seemed like a very big deal, Paimon widened her eyes in surprise. "Is Natlan also going to encounter a crisis?"

"According to our deductions, in less than a year, Natlan may very well be destroyed." Mavuika said with a grave expression.

In the time that followed, she informed the Traveler and the others about the catastrophe from 500 years ago, Natlan's impending destruction, and her own plan.

"I think I somewhat understand."

Paimon worked hard to digest this information, attempting to summarize it in her own words: "So, Mavuika and the Natlan people from 500 years ago made a super amazing big plan, wanting to activate a resurrection poem that can affect all Natlan people when Natlan suffers an invasion from the Abyss, to drive the Abyss out of Natlan?"

"You can understand it that way." Mavuika cast an approving gaze. "Paimon, you're very smart."

"Does the current Pyro Archon know about this plan?" Lumine asked.

"Natlan's Sacred Flame can inherit knowledge and memories; successive Pyro Archons will store their experiences and what they know into the Sacred Flame." Mavuika explained. "When Rios succeeded to the position, he must have learned of my existence and my plan from the Sacred Flame."

"But he doesn't agree with it." Mavuika's expression became complex.

"Doesn't agree?" Paimon asked doubtfully. "Why? Isn't this able to save a lot of people?"

"Rios feels the possibility of the plan succeeding is too small; the process of awakening the six heroes is accompanied by too many accidents and variables—any slight carelessness could lead to the plan's failure."

Mavuika furrowed her brows as she said: "Even I myself can only place hope in the Wayob's judgment; it's understandable that Rios doesn't agree with the plan."

"In this recent period, Rios has continuously strengthened the forces across Natlan, and even equipped the warriors with many excellent weapons."

"I speculate that he wants to gather all forces for a decisive battle with the Abyss."

Mavuika voiced her guess.

[I think the current Pyro Archon's approach is right; if one of Natlan's six heroes accidentally dies, Mavuika's plan would directly fall apart.]

[The six heroes are definitely all characters in the gacha pool; how could Genshin kill off characters from the pool?]

[From our perspective, Natlan's six heroes definitely won't have a single one die, and Mavuika's plan will definitely succeed.]

[But the current Pyro Archon isn't a player; he can't view the problem from our perspective. From his angle, the possibility of Mavuika's plan failing is too great—not believing Mavuika is very normal.]

"It feels like the situation is quite complicated." Paimon scratched her hair, casting her gaze toward her best partner. "Traveler, what do you think?"

"If it were me..." Lumine gripped her chin, analyzing. "I might do the same as the current Pyro Archon, focusing all attention on enhancing the nation's strength."

At least from this aspect, Rios's approach had no issues.

"I can understand your thinking." Mavuika took over the conversation. "Actually, whether it's my plan or Rios's plan, the decisive battle with the Abyss is ultimately unavoidable."

"So, if we can activate a resurrection poem that affects all Natlan people, Natlan's casualties could be minimized." Mavuika said.

"You want us to help awaken Natlan's six heroes?" Lumine understood the other's intention.
