Kushina's expression changed dramatically.
"How—how could such an enemy exist?!"
"And he wasn't alone."
Evan added, voice low and sinister.
Kushina stiffened. "Who?"
"I'm not sure if it was real," Evan said, face turning solemn.
"But I saw a pair of strange eyes. They looked like Sharingan… but the pattern inside the pupils was different."
Kushina gasped.
Her breath hitched.
"Mangekyō Sharingan?!"
Growing up beside Mito-sama, wife of the First Hokage, she had heard countless stories of the Uchiha.
Their power, their eyes, their danger.
Mangekyō…
With that, controlling the Nine Tails would be child's play.
Everything suddenly connected in her mind.
"Don't tell me… the enemy is Uchiha? Are the Uchiha planning a rebellion—?"
Her voice grew louder, breath quicker.
If it was Mangekyō…
If they could control the Nine Tails…
Then on the night of childbirth—
Everything lined up perfectly with the nightmare she'd been shown.
Evan watched her spiral deeper and deeper and barely held back a laugh.
Wow. This woman's imagination is incredible.
"Ohhh, so that was Mangekyō Sharingan," Evan said, pretending realization.
"But he didn't claim to be a member of Konoha's Uchiha. He said his name was… Uchiha Madara."
"Impossible!"
Kushina nearly shouted.
Evan shrugged.
"I know it sounds impossible. But that's who I saw."
Kushina's face drained of color.
Uchiha Madara.
A name that overshadowed history itself.
He'd been dead for decades — yet if he were alive…
Her world darkened instantly.
All hope felt meaningless.
Evan clicked his tongue.
They say pregnant women are easy to fool… accurate.
Kushina already trusted his so-called "future visions."
Add her worry for Minato and their unborn child, and her mind was in knots.
Then Evan's expression shifted—
a charming smile blooming on his lips.
He hooked a finger under her chin.
Kushina slapped his hand away.
He raised it again.
She slapped again.
On the third try, she let it be.
"…Say it," she muttered stiffly. "Say what you were going to say."
Evan pretended to think deeply.
"Based on my prediction… when you give birth to little Naruto, their plan is to strike while you're weakest. They'll break the seal, release the Nine Tails, and use it to attack Konoha."
"No kidding!"
Kushina rolled her eyes.
Evan ignored the sarcasm and went on:
"So the main threat is the masked man, and the Nine Tails."
"Neither the Third nor Minato has any real method to fight a tailed beast. Their only option is using Uzumaki sealing jutsu for a desperate trade—one life for one monster."
Kushina's face dimmed.
She already knew that.
She had seen Minato's death in the illusion.
"But I, on the other hand," Evan said lightly, "happen to possess the power to deal with a tailed beast."
His tone was casual—
as if talking about doing laundry.
Kushina blinked.
Then her eyes widened.
"You… what did you just say?"
Evan smirked.
"The Third and Minato can't handle the Nine Tails. But I can."
The confidence in his face was unmistakable.
And Kushina believed him.
Somehow, she believed him instantly.
He's grown this strong already…?
She exhaled, relief washing through her.
"That's… that's great. With you here, Konoha, Minato, and the baby… they all have hope…"
"Heh. Keep dreaming."
Evan shot her a disdainful look.
"Why should I help?"
Kushina froze.
"You—! Didn't you promise me—?!"
"Then do you remember what you promised me?"
His wicked smile made her face burn instantly.
Color climbed from her cheeks to her neck.
"…I said… after the baby is born…" she muttered, voice shrinking smaller and smaller.
Evan leaned closer, tone teasing.
"I don't want to wait. I want a taste right now."
"N-no! I'm about to give birth! That's absolutely impossible!"
"Then Konoha can burn. I'll just sit back and enjoy the show."
"You—!"
Kushina was furious.
"What do you want then?!"
"And I told you—that's not happening!"
Evan eyed her porcelain face… then her very pregnant belly.
Right.
She was fragile right now.
He couldn't go too far—
probably.
Then again…
She was an Uzumaki.
A clan known for absurd vitality and durability.
Even eight months pregnant, she still ran around the village like nothing was wrong.
Evan's eyes gleamed.
"…Then how about using your hands first?"
"Ah?"
Kushina blinked.
Then, as his intent became absolutely obvious—
her whole body trembled.
"You… you shameless bastard!"
"Call me whatever you want. Hurry up."
"If you don't…"
Evan's voice dropped, dripping with menace.
"I'll just leave Konoha. And when the village, Minato, and your child face disaster… well—tsk, tsk…"
"You—!"
Kushina's anger surged.
But fear and desperation drowned it just as quickly.
Minato would die.
The baby would become the Nine-Tails' vessel.
Konoha would burn.
If Evan truly had the power to stop it—
then she needed him.
No matter what it cost.
Face burning, eyes full of humiliation, Kushina gritted her teeth…
closed her eyes…
…And shakily reached out her hand.
This kunai…
Why is it so much bigger than the one at home…?
Wait—
Kushina!!
What are you thinking?!?!
