"Retreat!"
There was no hesitation.
The remaining Konoha ANBU blurred backward instantly.
Anyone with half a brain could see it:
The man in the demon mask was not someone they could contend with.
Running away was the only correct choice.
Evan snorted, not even bothering to chase.
When it came to killing—
the sword was still king.
Fire Release?
When had that ever burned someone to death in this world?
"Y–you came…"
Pakura finally forced down her shock.
Her eyes stared blankly at the man beside her, as though her heart had finally put down its burden.
Her eyelids grew heavy.
Her consciousness sank completely into darkness.
"I came."
Evan lifted her easily into his arms.
"Sleep."
Without another glance at the fleeing ANBU, he turned and walked away.
As he passed Jun, he simply said:
"Follow."
"Ah—!"
Jun trembled and scrambled upright.
"O-okay!"
She staggered after him—
but before she'd gone more than a few steps—
Screams broke out behind her.
She turned instinctively—
And froze.
The shattered short blade that had fallen to the ground…
had risen again.
It broke into countless black fragments—
and fired out like a skyful of arrows.
Ksh—!
Psh—!
Thud—!
Those Konoha ANBU who had driven her and Pakura to the brink of death—
were perforated in an instant.
None escaped.
Not one survived.
They didn't even have time to scream properly.
"This…"
Jun swallowed with difficulty.
Her apricot eyes trembled violently.
She had thought she understood the difference between herself and him—
But now she realized:
There was no comparison at all.
He wasn't just strong.
He was overwhelming.
Crushing.
Devastating.
The gap feels… inhuman.
Evan ignored her.
His gaze stayed on the unconscious Pakura in his arms—
and he clicked his tongue.
On the way here, he'd happened to bump into the "gift" Danzo sent—
more than ten Root operatives.
He had graciously "collected" them for experience points.
Only then did he rush over.
A moment later and Pakura really would've died.
Pakura was still too weak.
How could she carry the blame properly at this level?
Besides, he had originally come to relieve the killing intent boiling in his body.
But now? She was unconscious.
He couldn't very well… power on forcibly.
Would the girl even survive?
Thinking this, Evan's gaze naturally drifted toward the timid figure trailing behind him.
Jun.
He recalled the view he'd gotten previously—
She was deceptively well-endowed.
If the master didn't work…
perhaps the disciple could help.
A smirk curled his lips.
"Jun."
"Ah—! I'm here!"
Her voice cracked with fear.
Evan asked casually,
"When you were little, did you ever ride one of those kiddie rocking cars?"
"Huh?"
Jun blinked.
What kind of question was that?
After thinking hard, she whispered,
"I… I didn't dare ride them when I was small. I was scared…"
Evan chuckled.
"When you're a kid, rocking cars feel scary.
When you're grown, you sit on one and never want to get off."
"Ah?"
Jun blinked again, confused.
What kind of ride would make someone not want to get off?
"Do you want to try?"
"…Yes."
Later — A Cave by a Mountain Stream
Crackle… crackle…
The campfire lit the cave in warm gold.
Jun scurried back and forth—
adding wood, spreading dry grass, adjusting Pakura's position.
Her little face flushed from the heat, sweat beading at her temple.
Whenever she bent over, her soft curves pressed together—
Evan couldn't help comparing.
Pakura was tall, long-legged, slender-waisted.
Cold, sharp, mature.
Evan loved watching her get angry, yet forced to "repay kindness."
Jun, on the other hand, was tiny and soft—
but her chest was practically a divine miracle.
Beyond her teacher in scale.
Young, shy, pliable.
A perfect little snack.
Probably the type who would burst into tears the moment she was pushed down.
A bullyable little loli.
Mature woman + loli… absolute perfection.
Evan's eyes glinted.
"Jun, make another bed next to hers."
More a pile of grass than a bed, really—just enough to keep someone from being poked by rocks.
Jun frowned. "You're… sleeping too?"
She really didn't want to prepare a second one.
Only her teacher was injured—why did he need a place?
"Hmph."
Evan gave a cold glare, eyes fierce.
"Don't ask. Do it."
If she doesn't, her little butt will be full of splinters later.
Jun shivered.
"O-okay…"
She shuffled obediently.
Soon, a second "bed" appeared beside Pakura's.
Jun puffed her cheeks.
"It's done."
Evan smiled.
Jun felt her stomach drop.
That smile was dangerous.
She retreated to Pakura's far side.
Evan didn't rush her.
He knew little girls' weaknesses well.
So—
He reached toward Pakura's collar.
Jun's eyes widened.
"You—!"
"I'm getting ready to sleep."
Evan's lips curled wickedly.
"You sleep on your own! Why are you touching my teacher?!"
Evan brushed her hand aside.
"Pakura and I always sleep together."
"You—!"
Jun's head buzzed.
Before she could stop him, Evan pulled back Pakura's collar—
Warm firelight shone on her flawless skin, smooth like polished jade.
Evan's eyes darkened with appreciation.
His hand moved—
Jun's heart nearly exploded.
"Stop!"
Her voice cracked.
Her teacher had raised her like her own daughter.
She couldn't watch her be touched like this.
She pounced forward—
Thud!
Evan placed a hand on her head and pushed lightly.
Jun flew backward and landed on her butt.
"Ah—ow!"
Her eyes filled with tears.
"Don't— don't touch her…"
She choked, voice trembling.
Evan didn't look back.
He mocked lightly,
"If I don't touch Pakura… should I touch you instead?"
"I—I…"
Jun's entire body curled in on itself.
Fear washed over her.
But then she looked at Pakura—
half-exposed under the firelight.
Her heart twisted painfully.
Evan watched the shifting emotions on her face.
She trembled, her eyes filled with tears but burning with panic and determination.
The fish was nearly cooked.
Time to reel it in.
Evan moved his hand again—
And Jun finally broke.
"W-wait!"
Her voice cracked completely.
She couldn't let her teacher be defiled in front of her.
Not by this monster.
For her teacher—
she would endure anything.
Even if it meant—
She squeezed her eyes shut.
Tears slipped down her cheeks.
Her voice trembled like a frightened fawn.
"If… If you let teacher go…"
"I… I'll accompany you."
