Chapter 54 - The price of one stupidity

They will reveal all the secrets of Mount Myoboku senjutsu, allow people to take it to a new level, and then the help of toads will no longer be needed. In fact, with this decision, the Great Hermit Toad was undermining the very foundations of his sacred land.

But there was no choice. Despair was all he could do. Uchiha Yue is not Ootsutsuki Kaguya. He's a man, and he won't give birth to two brothers who are saviors, like she once was. The Uchiha clan is already almost wiped off the face of the earth. And Yue's strength... it was absolute, impossible to resist. His ability to absorb any kind of energy seemed deceptively simple at first glance. But when this simplicity gained the potential for endless growth, for beings with finite limits like them, it became a divine, unattainable force.

It's been so long, and the Great Hermit Toad hasn't seen a single glimmer of hope. A year... no, there was less than a year left until the end of the world. When Kaguya arrived, they had more than ten years to wait and search. Now, time has tightened into a tight, ruthless knot.

It was necessary to throw a new card on the table. There was no time left for passive waiting.

Seeing the Great Hermit Toad's unwavering determination, Fukasaku and Shima gave in. They understood that now was not the time to cling to ancient secrets. Even if this decision will change the future beyond recognition, first of all it is necessary that this future in principle come. If you do not survive this catastrophe, do not defeat Uchiha Yue ... soon Mount Myoboku, the world of Shinobi, and all living things will sink into oblivion. What kind of future can we talk about then?

They knew that senjutsu was useless against Yue. And yet, when Jiraiya entered the Hermit Mode, he was able to stay in that dead zone for an unacceptably long time. Yes, he paid a terrible price for this, becoming permanently crippled and unable to continue his family.

But he survived, even though he had to be rescued.

They could only hope that senjutsu would become the very variable that would give rise to a chance of victory. A chance that the Great Hermit Toad will be able to seize and save the world, just as the Ootsutsuki brothers once did.

"Elder, we will immediately begin to systematize the legacy of Mount Myoboku," Fukasaku bowed, and the two toad sages left.

The Great Hermit Toad, looking after them, sighed heavily. He's going to die soon. The natural energy was disappearing at such a rate that if they didn't defeat Uchiha Yue before her level dropped critically, it would be impossible to create senjutsu chakra. Then, even if Yue Yi is defeated, he will still be finished. He won't last long without being nourished by natural energy and the hermit's chakra. And it wasn't just him—Fukasaku, Shima, and other ancient toads, whose lives had long since passed the biological limit, were doomed.

But the legacy of Mount Myoboku will not be interrupted. Not all toads needed natural energy to sustain life itself. That was probably something to be happy about.

If something like this had happened in ancient times, when supernatural energies like the chakra had not yet come to this world, the disappearance of natural energy would have turned all the toads of Mount Myoboku into primitive creatures driven only by instincts. Their intelligence was a direct result of the absorption of natural energy, which elevated them from lowly creatures to intelligent youkai beings.

Their intelligence was completely dependent on this energy. If she disappears, he disappears too. And no matter what power they achieved, this fate could not be avoided, like a whale stranded on a beach: the more powerful it is, the faster it dies.

But now it was different. The appearance of the chakra changed the very blood of the toads, anchoring their minds at the genetic level. She transformed them from ephemeral creatures whose intelligence was a gift of nature into a truly intelligent species. That was why the toads of Myoboku Mountain were now able to absorb natural energy from birth and become hermits.

Of course, this mind had to be "activated" first by absorbing the natural energy. Ever since the Sage of the Six Paths had spread the chakra, ordinary toads also possessed it, but without intelligence, they couldn't use it.

— Uchiha Yue…

The Great Hermit Toad was now clearly aware of the limitations of his gift of foresight. If... if he had been able to see through the fog of the future that an idiot like Shimura Danzo would lead the world to the brink of destruction, he would have personally strangled the self-righteous bastard who fancied himself the arbiter of fate, no matter what the cost!

For others, going against heaven and changing their destiny is a task of unimaginable complexity. But for a fool like Shimura Danzo, it seemed to be a piece of cake.

The world's most insidious villains could have been plotting for years, but all their efforts paled in comparison to a single "genius" idea of such an idiot. Truly, it was a divine gift of destruction.

"Danzo, you idiot, look at what you've done!"

Senju Tobirama stood in front of the dead zone, and his face was as black as a cloud. Damn it, that idiot Danzo managed to provoke a disaster of such magnitude after his death! What the hell?! Didn't he think of everything for the Uchiha clan?

Was it really that fucking hard to just leave them with the Konoha Police?!

Why? Why the hell was this massacre necessary?! Have you run out of brains? Did a forest boar kick you?!

I've already solved the Uchiha problem, so why the hell are you going in there again?! If the system worked, why break it?!

Until recently, after learning about Danzo's deeds, Tobirama mentally praised his student. He believed that he had done a great job, inheriting his will perfectly: when the time comes to destroy such an innately vicious clan as the Uchiha, one must act without hesitation.

Now there are no ashes left from these thoughts.

If Shimura Danzo had appeared in front of him at that moment, he would have incinerated him with words, and in a fit of anger, perhaps, he would have torn him apart.

Only by taking up the research seriously could one realize the full horror of this monstrous Uchiha Yue dojutsu. Two days have passed since Senju Tobirama's resurrection. All this time, forgetting about sleep and rest, he studied the power of Yue with fanatical persistence. And the deeper he dug, the more his blood ran cold.

Up, down, left, right, forward, backward — a perfect spherical area. Even if you bit into the ground, even if you soared into the sky, to get to the Uchiha, no matter from which side you approached, the difficulty was the same. Outrageous.

He tried dozens of methods, put forward and refuted hypotheses, trying to find a loophole or a way to neutralize this abnormal force. It's all in vain. At the moment, he had no idea how to enter this area and meet the legendary Uchiha Yue.

— Where did my eyes look when I took such an idiot as a student? If I'd known this was going to happen, I would have fucking killed that idiot right then!

Senju Tobirama looked crushed. He believed that taking Shimura Danzo as a student was the biggest mistake of his life. If it wasn't for that idiot with his antics, would all this have happened? Now he, the dead man, has to deal with the consequences. But the worst part was that Tobirama discovered that Yue's power was so alien and incomprehensible that even he couldn't control it on the spot.

A year?

No, it hasn't been a year!

The expansion of this area has not been permanent. Over time, as more and more energy was absorbed, its growth accelerated.

If at first the area was increasing at a rate of, say, three units per hour, now it is already five or six. And that meant…
