Chapter 9 - Chapter 9: Brushing Yone Again

In the past, when watching crayon shin-chan through a computer screen, I was always amused by the plots.

Now experiencing it firsthand, it feels even more interesting.

Watching a group of Children bickering with Yoshinaga Midori.

In this joyful atmosphere, Kobayashi Itsuki finished lunch.

After eating, it was almost time, and the children were about to take their naps.

After helping to clear the dishes, Kobayashi Itsuki found Takakura Bunta.

"Principal, I'll head back for today to prepare for tomorrow's lessons."

In the office, Takakura Bunta smiled upon hearing this.

"Mm, no problem. I've already prepared your timetable, Teacher Kobayashi. You can take a look."

"Thank you for your hard work, Principal."

Kobayashi Itsuki politely thanked him as he looked at the timetable handed to him by Takakura Bunta.

"Then I'll be leaving now."

After bidding farewell to Takakura Bunta, Kobayashi Itsuki didn't rush back but walked towards the shopping street, following the memories in his mind.

On the way, he casually looked at the timetable.

Although called a timetable, there was basically no difference each day.

It was essentially taking the children for activities around ten o'clock.

Playing games, doing exercises, dancing—all were up to Kobayashi Itsuki's arrangement.

The only thing to note was to ensure the children didn't get hurt during the process.

Before Kobayashi Itsuki arrived, the Kindergarten was basically free play.

It was also Nene's excellent time to play super realistic house.

"Compared to a serious office job, this is indeed a more relaxed affair."

Recalling his previous life when he didn't write novels and worked as a 'social animal,' Kobayashi Itsuki felt a little emotional.

Unknowingly, he arrived at the shopping street and found a stationery store.

In this era, if he wanted to submit a manuscript, his only option was handwriting.

Because he didn't have the conditions for either a typewriter or a computer at the moment.

So, envelopes, stamps, letter paper, and a series of other things all needed to be bought.

Additionally, he needed to purchase some ingredients.

He didn't have much money now, so eating out was definitely not cost-effective.

The best way was to cook for himself.

In his previous life, because he wrote novels and stayed at home alone, he did have some cooking skills.

Some simple dishes, like noodles, were no problem at all.

Furthermore.

Kobayashi Itsuki also planned to buy a small thank-you gift.

No matter what, Higashimatsuyama Yone helped him uncover the truth of this world, and thanks to her, he found such a suitable job.

Even if it wasn't to increase her favorability, he should still properly thank her.

Arriving at the stationery store, Kobayashi Itsuki bought some letter paper, envelopes, and other items.

These things weren't expensive; a pack of 10 sheets of letter paper cost 20 yen, and a pack of 10 ordinary envelopes cost about 15 yen.

Kobayashi Itsuki bought ten packs of letter paper and two packs of envelopes.

It cost a total of 230 yen.

He already had pens at home, which saved him some expense.

Carrying the letter paper, Kobayashi Itsuki went to the market again.

He bought twenty eggs, some frozen chicken, and other items.

He also bought two packs of instant dumplings, two cabbages, and some eight-treasure porridge bread, which could be used to stave off hunger in the morning.

Adding up all the miscellaneous items, he spent over 2,000 yen, leaving him with very little of the 3,000 yen he got from opening the treasure chest that morning.

Walking to the end of the market, Kobayashi Itsuki saw a small stall selling fried sweet steamed buns.

A fried sweet steamed bun cost 40 yen, which was a pretty cheap snack.

Kobayashi Itsuki spent 400 yen and bought ten of them.

He had the vendor pack them up and headed towards the Kōban with his purchases.

When he arrived at the Kōban, Higashimatsuyama Yone was hunched over her desk, writing furiously, seemingly engrossed in something.

The middle-aged police officer outside saw Kobayashi Itsuki, knew he was an acquaintance of Higashimatsuyama Yone, and didn't stop him, just smiled and said,

"Coming to see Higashimatsu again?"

"Yes, thanks to her, I found a great job, so I wanted to come and thank her."

Kobayashi Itsuki said with a smile, holding up the plastic bag in his hand as a gesture.

"Go ahead, go ahead, but don't stay in there too long."

Walking into the Kōban, Higashimatsuyama Yone hadn't noticed Kobayashi Itsuki's arrival yet.

Kobayashi Itsuki came up behind her and could clearly see the thank-you letter he had sent, neatly pressed under the desk's glass, showing how much she valued it.

"Officer Higashimatsu."

Seeing that she was quite focused, Kobayashi Itsuki spoke up.

"Hi, what's up..."

Higashimatsuyama Yone said subconsciously, and when she turned her head and saw it was Kobayashi Itsuki, she said in surprise,

"Kobayashi-san?"

"Sorry to interrupt your work."

"No, no, how's the job? Did you find anything?"

Higashimatsuyama Yone quickly reacted and immediately pulled over a chair for Kobayashi Itsuki.

"I really have to thank you, Officer Higashimatsu. Thanks to you, I successfully passed the interview and signed the contract. I'll start working at the Kindergarten tomorrow."

Kobayashi Itsuki said thankfully, taking out the fried sweet steamed buns he had bought.

"I've bothered you so much, I should really treat you to a meal."

"But I don't have the means right now. If you don't mind, please accept this as a small token of my appreciation."

Seeing the sweet steamed buns Kobayashi Itsuki offered, Higashimatsuyama Yone said in surprise,

"You succeeded?!"

"Yes, so I specifically came back to thank you properly."

"This news is already the best reward!"

Upon learning that she had successfully helped Kobayashi Itsuki, Higashimatsuyama Yone was genuinely happy for him.

Not only that, but she also felt a deep sense of accomplishment from helping others.

"You're not in an easy situation right now, there's no need to waste money..."

"Just consider it my male chauvinism acting up; I just really want to thank you."

Kobayashi Itsuki said jokingly with a smile, "Besides, now that I have a job, as long as I work hard, things will definitely get better."

Seeing that Kobayashi Itsuki had said so, Higashimatsuyama Yone no longer refused, taking the box of sweet steamed buns with both hands and smiling earnestly.

"I will cherish every bite!"

"You don't have to be so dramatic. If you really want to do that, let's talk about it when I get my salary and officially treat you to a meal."

"If I refuse, will it hurt your male chauvinism?"

"That shouldn't happen, at most, I might just lose the courage to start living a good life again."

"You're calling me dramatic..."

After a brief chat with Higashimatsuyama Yone, Kobayashi Itsuki took his things and left.

Although he didn't get a new treasure chest, Kobayashi Itsuki could understand.

It was impossible for someone he had only met a few times to have their favorability rating increase to a blue level so quickly.

If such a situation were to occur, it would probably be love at first sight or being love-struck.

Returning home, Kobayashi Itsuki put down the things in his hands and stretched.

"Indeed, 'murder and arson bring golden belts,' the ancestors truly didn't deceive me. It's a pity there's no opportunity."
