Chapter 24
Jepack stepped out of his room after tidying up and immediately spotted Guina and Nami whispering conspiratorially, occasionally letting out surprised gasps that made him extremely curious.
But every time he tried to get closer, he was met with two fierce warning glares, forcing him to keep his distance and watch from afar.
In the end, he only caught Nami's determined expression as she promised Guina something.
That night, after Guina and Jepack finished their sparring session—
Guina quickly left the training room.
Normally, after practice, she would soak in the small hot spring attached to the room, but tonight she hurried off.
"This little one is really upset, huh…"
Jepack felt a bit unaccustomed to it. He soaked alone in the hot spring, feeling a little lonely, and pulled out a bottle of premium lager to drink.
Whether it was the relaxing combination of hot water and beer, or genuine exhaustion, he drifted off while floating in the spring.
Nami usually came to soak in the hot spring every night after finishing her charts, but always later than their training time.
That night, Nami entered the pool, soaked for a while, and was about to get out—
When she spotted Jepack floating there. She hurriedly fled the scene.
Half an hour later, both arrived on the Ten'en's deck one after the other and, without prior arrangement, lay down on adjacent deck chairs.
Jepack spoke to the drowsy Nami:
"Your strength and stamina are still pretty low. Starting tomorrow, I'll put you through special training to improve your self-defense ability!"
Nami nodded sleepily.
The next morning—
Jepack dragged a still half-asleep Nami into the training room with a flash-step and began her special stamina and strength regimen.
It started with simple face-to-face stances, but soon Nami began slacking off—only to be pulled up by Jepack to continue.
When all else failed, Jepack lightly tapped her head with a wooden training sword.
"Ow!! Jepack, you jerk—stop hitting my head with that wooden sword!"
"If I don't give you a little discipline, you'll keep trying to slack off!"
—
"I'm so tired! I don't want to train anymore!"
Exhausted and still trying to skip, Nami finally cried out in protest!
Hearing the commotion, Guina rushed to the training room, saw the scene, and could only sigh helplessly.
Listening to Nami's constant wails, Guina felt a pang of sympathy and stepped in to take over Jepack's attacks for her.
—
It wasn't until the afternoon of the second day that the Ten'en raised its sails again—proof that yesterday's training had been quite intense!
Over the following days, occasional sounds of the three training could be heard from the room, though never as intense as that first day!
The training lasted a full two and a half days.
Finally, a ship shaped like a giant fish head appeared on the horizon!
"Nami-chan Guina-chan The Baratie floating restaurant is ahead! Let's go see if the food is as amazing as the newspapers say!"
Jepack pointed at the fish-headed ship and called out to the two girls.
Guina and Nami, both food lovers, immediately got excited and shouted:
"Yay! Go go go—let's go!!"
After docking the Ten'en, they boarded via the side deck and entered the main dining area.
Once seated, Jepack scanned around, looking for Red Leg Zeff and blond Sanji, but didn't spot them—probably in the kitchen cooking.
Soon the food arrived. Looking at the massive spread, the three dug in.
"Color, aroma, and flavor—all perfect. The texture is great too. No wonder it's famous across the seas!"
Nami and Guina evaluated as they ate.
Meanwhile, Jepack devoured everything like a starving man, not saying a single word the whole time.
Just as they finished their huge meal with satisfaction, the table next door still had about half the food untouched and was preparing to leave.
At that moment, a blond man with a gentlemanly air stepped forward, blocking their path. He took a drag from his cigarette and spoke slowly:
"Excuse me, is the food not to your liking? Our restaurant has a rule: no food may be wasted. Please finish what's on the table. Thank you for your cooperation."
Customer: "Who the hell are you? We paid for it—we eat what we want, leave what we want. What right do you have to order us around?!"
Sanji pointed at the leftover food: "I'm the one who cooked that food. Are you sure you don't plan to finish it?"
Customer arrogantly: "So you're just some blond cook? I think it tastes terrible now. What are you gonna do about it?!"
With that, he spat on the remaining food.
Nami muttered quietly: "The dishes look almost identical to ours—how could they possibly taste bad? This guy's way too arrogant."
Guina nodded in agreement.
Jepack simply watched the scene unfold with a small smile, saying nothing.
Sanji slowly exhaled a smoke ring: "On this ship, no food may be insulted for any reason! Now… which part of your body are you prepared to use to receive this?"
The customer looked confused and irritated: "What the hell are you babbling about? Get lost!"
"Then I'll choose for you."
Sanji finished speaking, placed the cigarette back in his mouth, and delivered a devastating combo to the customer.
"Meat Shoot – Head!"
"Shoulder!"
"Back!"
"Chest!"
"Leg!"
And finally—"Cheek Meat Shoot!"—kicking the man flying off the deck. Sanji then grabbed the unconscious customer by the collar and tossed him overboard.
Returning, he apologized to all the diners with a bow, his eyes sweeping the room.
When his gaze landed on Jepack's table, his expression changed instantly.
Pink hearts appeared in his pupils, and his feet spun like wheels—whoosh—he shot over to their table in the blink of an eye.
