Chapter 87 - Ch. 87: Representatives Gathering

"Alright, is everyone here? Nobody else is gonna drop out of the sky with a valid reason that they deserve a place at this summit? Just us? Great. Now let's get started." I declared, unable to hide the annoyance in my voice.

Just then, the door swung open. "It is I, Veldora the Storm Dragon himself, in the flesh! I have-"

"Great, Veldora." I mercilessly cut him off, "If you wanna join in, that's fine, but try to keep out of everyone's way, okay? Or you can just leave…?"

"How cold, Rimuru! How could I, your closest friend, not be here during such an important meeting?!" Veldora said, picking Risa up onto his lap and laying down on the couch like it was his god-given right.

In response, I could've sworn I saw a white demon incarnate behind Althea as she stared at the (now sweating) Storm Dragon with a creepy smile frozen on her lips.

As expected of one of the strongest beings in this world, Veldora didn't move to give the little white slime in his lap back, though. Respect. I would've thrown Risa's body at Althea as hard as I could in cold terror.

But back to the whole 'summit' thing. It'd all started the morning after Veldora, Risa, and I had left the cave.

(Risa POV)

"Alright, guys! We need to figure out what we're going to do now, about the Demon Lord Clayman." Rimuru said, walking into the meeting room where all of our cabinet was already gathered.

The Tempest Resurrection Festival was officially over, and it was time for work. No more jokingly sticking knives into Gobta's head to see how many he could fit, it was time for war.

First off was a report from Soei. But before he could begin speaking, we were interrupted.

Fuze appeared, followed by a hundred Blummundian knights. Apparently, they'd taken the long way through Jura to Tempest, out of fear of running into the Farmus army on the highway. They were all ready and rearing to help us fight the Farmus army, right down to the last man.

I was touched.

When he learned that the battle was already over, Fuze was shell-shocked and tired. He, along with his entire army, nearly collapsed on the spot.

Rimuru offered him an escort to the bathroom, and sent his gathered knights to our best lodging facility, free of charge.

Fuze didn't get the chance to go to the bathroom, though. Just as he turned to accept Rimuru's offer, shocked into silence at the idea of one slime destroying the entire army of twenty thousand trained knights, Rimuru and I sensed Pegasus knights flying into town.

Was King Gazel also here to aid the cause? I didn't see that as a possibility, Vester should've already informed him that everything was already taken care of.

And as it turned out, he had. Gazel was here to discuss it with Rimuru himself. He also had the idea to maybe not announce to the world that Rimuru'd killed an army of twenty thousand.

And as such, we suddenly had Gazel and Fuze joining in on our little meeting. But just as we began once more, we had another gatecrasher.

This one was Elen's father, Erald, who was apparently some bigwig in the Sorcerous Dynasty of Thalion. He walked in using a homunculus body, freaked out about Rimuru 'seducing his daughter(?)' and pretended to cast some overpowered explosion spell.

"I wanna-"

"Lady Risa. I do not believe this is the time." Althea said, gripping my slime body tightly in order to keep me from pestering Erald about his homunculus.

"But-!"

"Risa! Heel!" Rimuru ordered.

"Yes, Big Bro…" But I wanted to know about the homunculus! It was so sophisticated and cool! And what technique did they use to temporarily place Erald's soul inside of it? I wanted to know!

"Alright, let's get started. I suppose with all of these representatives here, we should do introductions. Shuna?" Rimuru said, but then, I remembered something.

"Wait a second, Big Bro! If all these representatives are here, then… I'll be right back." I jumped out of Althea's arms and disappeared from the room using Dominate Space.

While everyone was staring at each other, confused, I gathered what I needed and teleported back, followed by three bodies, who fell into a pile on the floor.

"Umm… Risa… Why did you bring dying people to our summit?" Rimuru wondered aloud.

"Nrrgh… Fine… Tti…tired." One of the bodies groaned, twitching. It was the little girl at the bottom of the pile. Elbowing the boy half-on-top-of-her in the face to wake him up, she flipped onto her back, making no move to pluck herself off of the floor.

"Paaaperwork… Why…?" The boy that she'd elbowed moaned, slowly trying to get himself into a standing position, only to fall back on his face, not enough energy left in his limbs. "Edddy…"

"Got it. Here you… go." The final one to wake up, a smaller boy in opulent clothing, raised his shaking arm above the second boy's head, and out from his palm came a giant droplet of water, which landed right on the other boy's face.

"Whoo! Cold!" That seemed to wake the second boy up, and he flew off the ground like he'd been struck by lightning. "Eddy, Flora, come on. Get up." With his new energy, the second boy managed to help pull the other two to their feet, and they all stumbled to the closest chairs.

"Umm… Hello?" Rimuru said questioningly. I could tell what he was thinking, but they really did need to be here.

"Hey."

"Hi."

"Nrrgh." The girl still seemed to be ninety percent asleep. The other two were only about half-asleep.

"Who are these people?" Gazel asked.

"King Edgar. New… Farminus."

"Head Advisor, Luka."

"Bwarghhh… Ora…"

"She's the Western Holy Church's representative in the New Farminus government. At least, for now." Althea explained in lieu of the extremely tired girl.

"Floora…" She greeted, head lolling.

"And… why do they look half-dead?" Fuze asked.

"Rearranging… everything."

"It sucks… so bad." Luka finished for Edgar.

"I haven't slept… in seven days…" Flora complained sleepily.
