Chapter 95 - Chapter 95: Discovered

The Cart Titan opened its huge mouth, and Reiner, whose entire body was coated in Titan saliva, was spat out by the Cart Titan. The flesh and blood that had originally wrapped around Reiner had long since evaporated inside the Cart Titan's mouth.

"Cough, cough, cough—" Reiner collapsed onto the ground, unable to stop coughing, occasionally vomiting a mouthful of strange liquid.

"Reiner!" Bertholdt, soft-hearted as always, hurriedly slid down from the Cart Titan's neck and helped Reiner, patting his back and checking on him.

After a long while, Reiner finally managed to lift his head.

"Pieck, you definitely don't brush your teeth properly."

"Reiner, has no one ever told you that speaking to a girl like that is extremely rude?" The Cart Titan spoke in human language, but hearing it declare itself a girl from the misshapen, ugly mouth of the Cart Titan felt inexplicably strange.

"Sorry." Reiner apologized promptly. The Cart Titan clearly didn't mind and instead lowered its body and said, "Let's go. The Warrior Captain is waiting."

Bertholdt supported Reiner up onto the Cart Titan's neck.

The Cart Titan then continued its mad sprint.

...

On a tree not far away, two figures silently watched the Cart Titan disappearing into the distance.

"Are you really going? It's very dangerous. Let me go with you." Her tone was full of worry as Annie grabbed Yago's arm.

Yago smiled and reached out to hold Annie's hand.

"Don't worry. I know my limits. Even if I can't win, I can still run. Trust me, Annie. For Mr. Leonhart's sake, you must not show yourself."

Yago and Annie had tailed the Cart Titan all the way, watching with their own eyes as Pieck transformed right in front of them. If Yago had been ruthless and decisive at that moment and had directly cut off Pieck's head to stop her transformation, none of them might have escaped.

But Yago had to admit that, in that instant, there had been a trace of softness in his heart. He didn't know why, even though it was his first time seeing Pieck.

"Next time, I absolutely can't be soft-hearted!" Yago clenched the hilt of his blade, silently making a firm resolve.

Night fell, and the Cart Titan finally stopped. Reiner and Bertholdt lit a campfire to rest, while the Cart Titan remained lying on the ground in its Titan form.

Yago observed from not too far away. Although he had long known about the Cart Titan's incredible endurance, witnessing it sprint wildly for an entire afternoon was still astonishing.

It was said that the Cart Titan could maintain its Titan form for as long as several months—that was truly terrifying.

Tss, a faint jetting sound. Annie landed lightly beside Yago, holding a pile of gas canisters in her arms.

Annie: "I've already found a former Survey Corps outpost inside Wall Maria. The gas is fully stocked, but there's no food left."

Yago rubbed his stomach. "By the way, Annie, are you hungry? If Annie is hungry, I'd really feel bad."

Annie gave the joking Yago a punch, annoyed.

Yago dodged with a grin. Life shouldn't always be weighed down by heaviness, but some things must still be faced. Yago only wanted to shoulder a bit more for the girl in front of him.

...

Soon, the night passed. The Cart Titan carried Reiner and Bertholdt onward, while Yago and Annie followed closely behind.

Inside Wall Maria, there was an unremarkable small village that had long been abandoned after Wall Maria was breached. By all rights, this place should have become a haven for rampaging Titans, yet strangely, there was not the slightest sign of Titan activity here.

The village was in complete ruin, with rubble and broken bricks everywhere, and houses riddled with holes.

In fact, if one had come to the village a few days earlier, many wandering Titans could still have been seen. But a few days ago, those wandering Titans had all fallen onto the rubble-strewn ground and evaporated.

On a relatively neat open patch of ground, a bare-chested figure gripped a wooden stick with both hands, adjusting his stance.

Well-defined abs, solid muscles that radiated strength, blond hair, round glasses, and a beard on his chin—everything pointed clearly to his identity: the Marley Warrior Captain, the Spear of Marley, Zeke Yeager.

Boom, boom. The Cart Titan trampled the earth, causing many of the scattered stones on the ground to tremble. Zeke frowned slightly, clearly displeased.

"Warrior Captain..."

"Oh, Reiner, and Bertholdt too—you're back? You look pretty battered." Zeke continued to swing the wooden stick, assuming a standard baseball batting stance.

Reiner lowered his head.

"I'm very sorry, Captain. We failed. We didn't obtain any information about the Founder, and we also failed to seize the power of the Attack Titan, and—we also lost..."

"We also lost the power of the Jaw Titan and the Female Titan. Sigh, Reiner." Zeke took over Reiner's words.

Zeke tossed the wooden stick aside and continued,

"After we return, what do you think Porco will think? The military won't be satisfied with this result either. Reiner, do you think we should return to Marley now?"

Reiner clenched his fists, his gaze struggling, but he still grit his teeth and said,

"Captain! I think we still have a chance! The Survey Corps will carry out the operation to reclaim Wall Maria. For the sake of the secrets in Eren's family basement, they will definitely go—and Eren will definitely go as well!"

"Eren? The Eren Yeager you mentioned in your report?" Zeke picked up a stone from the ground and asked in a slightly dazed tone.

"Yes, Eren Yeager—the holder of the Attack Titan. In fact, I suspect that the power of the Founder might also be on Eren." Reiner hesitated for a moment before voicing his inner suspicion.

"The Founder? Eren Yeager?" Zeke's brows knit tightly as he pondered something.

"Because I—" Reiner was about to explain, but Zeke suddenly assumed a standard baseball pitching posture, raising the stone high in his hand before hurling it with tremendous force.

The power was so great that the stone even tore through the air.

Reiner and the others were startled by this sudden action.

"Eavesdropping on others is very bad behavior." Zeke said teasingly as he looked toward a ruined house not far away.

The stone smashed down by their feet, blasting a small crater into the ground. Yago shrugged helplessly—they had been discovered.

Under Reiner and the others' gazes, Yago walked out from the ruined house.

"Warrior Captain Zeke, your eyesight is really impressive. You should become a baseball star."

"Yago? How did you—?" Reiner and Bertholdt stared in shock.

"Long time no see, Reiner, Bertholdt. Oh, and Miss Pieck as well. I have to say, Miss Pieck's Titan form isn't as cute as the real person." Yago teased.
