Chapter 27 - Torture

Joseph, his mind scrambled by Entropy's chaos, failed to calculate a rift in time. Entropy lunged forward with a blade of jagged reality, tearing a massive, jagged flesh wound across Joseph's chest. Blue mana sprayed like blood as the "Calculator" fell, his throne of light shattering into dust.

Seeing his brother fall, the Walker didn't show mercy. He gathered a massive amount of void energy into his palms and unleashed a Universal Concussion Blast—a wave of localized gravity and sound designed to shut down the nervous systems of every Hunter in the courtyard.

Tae saw it coming. With a roar of defiance, he lunged in front of the wounded Joseph, throwing a desperate punch to intercept the blast. The collision was cataclysmic. Tae, Kd, and Joseph took the full brunt of the explosion. The shockwave sent them skidding across the stone, their eyes rolling back as their consciousness flickered out. The three strongest members of Tier Zero were down.

The Last Stand: The Shield of the Five

"NO!" Jay bellowed, his voice shaking the castle walls.

Before the villains could move in for the kill, the remaining brothers acted with the desperation of cornered animals. Jay lunged through the gravity-well, grabbing the unconscious Tae and Joseph, while Jax and Rix snatched Kd from the edge of the abyss. They dragged their fallen leaders into a tight circle.

Ethan stepped to the front. His face was twisted in a mask of pure, unadulterated rage.

"You think you've won?" Ethan whispered, his eyes glowing with an atomic light so bright it began to melt the snow for a hundred yards. "I am the Sun."

• The Atomic Shield: Ethan slammed his hands together, creating a Hyper-Dense Plasma Dome. It wasn't just a mana shield; it was a wall of atomic fire that vaporized any spirit or projectile that touched it.

• Overclocking: Ethan's skin began to crack, golden light leaking from his pores as he pushed his atoms to the breaking point. He was holding off all seven God-Level Villains at once, his shield absorbing Goliath's punches and Lead-Heart's dampening fields through sheer, stubborn output.

The Brothers Go Crazy

Behind Ethan's shield, the rest of the brothers snapped. They weren't fighting for the Association anymore; they were fighting for their family.

• Ayden went into a kinetic frenzy. He didn't wait to be attacked. He began punching the inside of Ethan's shield, storing the vibrations until his gauntlets were white-hot. "Sponge wants energy?" Ayden screamed. "I'll give him enough to OVERLOAD HIS SOUL!"

• Jay ignored the fact that he was weightless. He used his Absolute Anchor on his own internal organs, stabilizing himself from the inside out, and began throwing heavy debris with enough force to break the sound barrier.

• Jax and Rix merged into a single blur of grey. They stopped using traditional shadows and began using the "Blood Shadow"—a forbidden technique that turned the literal blood on the battlefield into a thousand serrated blades.

• Cygnus ditched his drones. He pulled out two tactical thermal blades and began a suicide-sprint at the edge of the shield, his eyes calculating every millimeter of the Mist's movement.

The Desperate Hour

Outside the dome, the Walker laughed, watching Ethan's shield flicker. "Look at you! The little atoms are trying to stay together! But your Captain is asleep, and the 'Calculator' is bleeding out!"

Ethan coughed up blood, his knees buckling under the pressure of holding back the seven villains. "Jay... Ayden..." Ethan wheezed, the golden light in his eyes beginning to fade. "I can't... hold them... much longer..."

In the center of the circle, Tae's hand twitched. Deep within his mind, the Logos Engine was rebooting, sensing the life-signs of his brothers reaching the red zone.

Ethan's shield was cracking, the atomic fire sputtering as the seven God-Level villains rained down a coordinated assault. But before the dome could shatter, Ayden and Jay unleashed hell.

Ayden let out a primal scream, his body glowing like a sun as he sprinted out of the shield. He didn't care about his own safety; he moved like a kinetic bullet, his fists hitting with the force of nuclear warheads. He hammered into Sponge, punching so fast and so hard that the villain's absorption limit hit a critical ceiling.

Simultaneously, Jay went into Overload. He stopped anchoring himself and started manipulating the gravity of the entire courtyard. "Fall," Jay growled. The earth groaned as a 100x gravity well centered on the villains, pinning even Goliath to the blood-stained snow.

The White Room: A Final Visitation

While the battle raged, Tae, Kd, and Joseph were drifting in a void of endless white. For a moment, the pain was gone. Then, the impossible happened. Sister Patricia—the real one, radiant and warm—walked into each of their separate consciousnesses.

• To Joseph: She walked to him and cupped his face. "My little genius," she whispered. "You've always tried to calculate the world so you wouldn't be surprised by the hurt. But your heart is what makes you smart, Joseph, not just the math. You are perfect as you are. Get up, my love. Your brothers need their mind back." She kissed his forehead, and the white room began to crack.

• To Kd: She laughed, that same gentle sound he remembered from the kitchen. "My little demon. My red-hot. You've always been so angry because you love so deeply. Don't suppress the fire anymore, Kd. Stop being a swordsman and become the Beast of Chaos the world needs to fear." She kissed his cheek, her eyes twinkling.

• To Tae: She stood before her 'Little Light.' "Tae, you've carried the weight of the world since you were a boy. You remember when you used to hide under the porch because the light was too loud? You aren't that boy anymore. You are the Sun. Shine for them, Tae."

She kissed each of them one last time and began to ascend, her form dissolving into pure, golden spirit-light. "I'll be watching. Now, wake up."

The Resurrection of Tier Zero

Back in the courtyard, the villains were about to finish off Ethan and Ayden when three pillars of light erupted from the center of the formation.

1. Tae: The Buddha Form. Tae rose into the air, his clothes turning to flowing white silk and his skin becoming a translucent gold. Six ethereal arms of light manifested behind him, each holding a different symbol of judgment.

2. Joseph: The Prideful Killer. Joseph stood, his Sea Blue eyes turning into cold, vertical slits. A crown of blue geometric shards floated above his head, and his aura became so sharp that the space around him literally began to bleed.

3. Kd: The Beast of Chaos. This was something never seen before. Kd's katana fused into his arm. His skin turned a charred black-red, and four massive, jagged wings of red lightning and dark wind tore out of his back. He let out a roar that wasn't human—it was the sound of a storm that had gained a soul.

The Omni-Army

Tae looked down at the 10,000 Grade S spirits. He snapped his fingers. "Rise."

From the golden light of the Logos Engine, 10,000 Omni-Minions—faceless soldiers of pure light—materialized.

"Too bland," Kd growled, his voice a distorted rasp. He flared his aura, and a wave of red chaos washed over the minions, giving them jagged armor and elemental claws.

"And they lack efficiency," Joseph added coldly. He flickered his fingers, and a blue grid connected all 10,000 minions, giving them a hive-mind intelligence and the ability to predict every enemy movement.

Tae's white eyes locked onto the Walker. "Kill."

The Beatdown

The 10,000 upgraded minions collided with the Walker's spirits, and it wasn't a fight—it was an erasure. Joseph and Kd blurred into motion, tearing through the seven God-Level villains like they were made of paper.

Tae didn't use a sword. He flew directly at the Walker, who barely had time to raise his void-blade. Tae parried it with a bare palm and began the assault.

• First Combo: Tae landed a flurry of "Logic-Breaker" punches—left, right, solar plexus, jaw. Each hit vibrated with the power of the Third Seal, shattering the Walker's ribs.

• Second Combo: Tae moved so fast he appeared to be ten people. He delivered a crushing knee to the Walker's chest, followed by a double-palm strike that sent the Walker flying through three stone pillars.

The Walker tried to speak, but Tae was already there, grabbing him by the throat and slamming him into the ground. Tae's golden fists became a blur, delivering a relentless barrage of straight punches, each one glowing with the heat of a star.

"This," Tae said between strikes, his voice calm and terrifying, "is for the orphanage."

The tide has turned.

While the air in the center of the courtyard turned into a golden vacuum from the sheer force of Tae's fists, the rest of the battlefield became a symphony of calculated destruction.

The Slaughter of the Seven

Joseph, now in his Prideful Killer form, moved with a cold, terrifying arrogance. He didn't even look at the villains; he simply walked through the chaos, his fingers twitching like a conductor.

• The End of Entropy: The villain who thought he could scramble Joseph's mind suddenly found himself trapped in a Perfect Logic Loop. Joseph forced Entropy's brain to calculate the decimal of Pi to infinity in a single second. As Entropy's head began to leak blue smoke, Joseph stepped behind him and opened a micro-portal inside the villain's chest. With a sharp tug, Joseph manifested Entropy's own heart outside his body. "The math is settled," Joseph whispered as the villain collapsed.

• The End of Lead-Heart: Joseph looked toward Ethan, who was pale and shaking from the strain. Joseph snapped his fingers, shifting the probability of the dampening field to zero. Ethan's atomic light roared back to life. Ethan didn't hesitate; he lunged forward and touched Lead-Heart's forehead. The villain didn't even have time to scream before his entire molecular structure was converted into pure, harmless oxygen.

The Beast Unbound

On the other side of the dome, Kd was no longer a man. He was a Beast of Chaos, a jagged blur of red lightning and shadow that even the Twins of Glass couldn't reflect.

• The End of the Twins: The Glass Twins tried to mirror Kd's form, but Kd's chaos was too volatile to be copied. The reflections shattered like actual glass. Kd appeared between the two siblings, his lightning-fused arms piercing through both their chests simultaneously. He let out a distorted, guttural roar, and the red lightning cooked them from the inside out until only charred armor remained.

• The End of Reaper: The "Silent Grave" tried to vanish into a vacuum again, but Kd's new wings flapped, creating a Chaos Storm that generated its own atmosphere. Kd caught Reaper by the throat. "You wanted silence?" Kd's voice was a tectonic rumble. He slammed Reaper into the ground and unleashed a Point-Blank Thunderclap that pulverized the villain into the stone.

Clearing the Field

Jay, Ayden, Jax, Rix, and Cygnus saw the opening. With the God-Level counters dead or dying, they turned their fury on the remaining villains.

• Jay vs. Goliath: With Joseph stabilizing the gravity, Jay finally planted his feet. He grabbed Goliath by the waist and activated Maximum Anchor. He didn't just slam him; he drove him through the foundation of the castle, burying the "Weightless Giant" under ten thousand tons of reinforced stone.

• Ayden vs. Sponge: Ayden didn't stop punching. He used the kinetic energy Joseph channeled to him and delivered a final, "Infinite Impact" strike. Sponge's body couldn't absorb the sheer volume of energy and literally burst like an overfilled balloon.
