Chapter 23 - Ch. 23: Dragon Trials: Lynn, Mover of Mountains

"Move that mountain."

"...Excuse me?" Lynn flinched.

"I've decided that particular mountain over there is an eyesore. I want it over there. Good luck." And with a grandfatherly smile that (for some strange reason) made Lynn want to repeatedly bang her head against the towering mountain that she'd just been asked to literally move over a whole kilometer, the elderly Namekian turned on his heel and began walking away.

"Wait! Elder Moori!!! ELDER MOOORRI!!!" Lynn screamed at the fleeing Namekian incredulously.

Moori didn't stop.

Taking a deep breath, Lynn looked at the mountain in front of her, the one that she was supposed to literally move.

It was about 500 meters tall, and had an area of about 250 meters by 250 meters. Lynn was lucky enough that she wasn't smart enough to do those calculations off of the top of her head, but if Tarble had been there, he would've realized that Lynn had been asked to move over a million square meters of nothing but dirt and rocks.

Unconsciously, Lynn was glad that Tarble wasn't there.

Though, the help would have been appreciated.

For a normal person in Tarble's previous life, that mountain would've taken massive amounts of heavy gear, and several weeks of dedicated effort with heavy machinery to move.

For Lynn, she could destroy the entire thing in one full-powered attack.

Unfortunately, moving was far harder than destroying. While a full-powered energy blast could destroy the mountain, Lynn was nowhere near physically powerful enough to rip the entire mountain up and move it by hand.

Maybe Tarble could… or Pepper, but Lynn wasn't that strong.

Looking at the task in front of her, Lynn sighed, and closed her eyes in concentration for a moment, channeling her energy. She'd gotten better at it in the last month, but she still needed to take a few moments to gather strength for her stronger ki attacks.

"HAH YAAAH!" Lifting off the ground, Lynn unleashed the strongest spinning side kick she could muster. As her foot exploded across the air in front of her, faster than even her eye could follow, Lynn's ki energy exploded outward from her heel in a shockwave, which carried itself forward, cutting through the base of the mountain in front of her like butter and extending onward into the horizon. "Horizon Heel Cutter." She muttered with satisfaction, watching the dust settle from the mountain dropping an inch.

Lynn released around a dozen more Horizon Heel Cutters, vertical ones this time, before taking a break, already fairly spent from the effort.

But her slashes hadn't been in vain. The giant mountain had been divided into much smaller sections of dirt and rock, which would be far easier to move.

Three days later, Lynn found herself wiping sweat off of her face using her new Namekian-style jacket, only to blanch as her face was covered in dirt from the jacket that was apparently dripping with a muddy combination of dirt and sweat.

"...Dammit." She muttered to herself, looking back at her work so far.

The initial mountain had been about halfway dismantled by this point, and there was a massive, four-foot tall trail of loose dirt leading from the first mountain to the giant dirt pile that was the new mountain that Lynn was making.

Unfortunately, that progress wasn't without its sacrifices.

Lynn already knew that she'd lost the competition. This particular trial simply took way too much time for her to possibly finish before the others.

On top of that, her Frieza Force armor had been long discarded. She'd had one of the Namekians give her some new clothes, because the dirt and sweat had begun to feel like it was fusing with the armor on a molecular level, something that would never come out.

She'd left the Frieza Force pants on, though. They were elastic and more comfortable than anything from Namek, even partially ripped and covered in dirt. The shirt and over-armor, though, had been replaced by a Namekian-style white (now brown) tank-top-like wrap and a blue (now brown) sleeveless Namekian-style jacket thrown over it.

"Guess it's time for a break." She muttered to herself, looking her body over for the first time in two days.

The skin on her arms and stomach was now brown, instead of its natural pale white, just a shade lighter than her formerly white shirt, which was irritating, because her shirt didn't even really reveal her stomach, the dirt had just gotten in there when she'd raised her arms and let her shirt ride up a bit while moving dirt blocks.

"Whaddya want?" Lynn noticed one of the village's warriors heading over her way as she pulled the jacket over her head, slinging it across her shoulder as she walked toward the nearest body of water to wash the dirt off, at least temporarily.

The Namekian warrior paused for a moment, then shook his head and turned away.

Lynn simply shrugged in response, ignoring the Namekian's weirdness.

Two more days of hard work passed before Lynn was finally finished moving the mountain. Once again covered in dirt and sweat, Lynn made her way back to the Namekian Elder, Moori.

"Oh, great. You're done?" He realized, looking over at the now clear horizon where the mountain had once been.

Then, he mercilessly crushed Lynn's dreams. "Now, you can use the dirt from the new mountain to fill in that lake, after you make a crater over there and bail the water out into it."

"...Sc-"
