"Um… little Clara."
Just as she was about to take Clara to eat the delicacies she'd been listing, Firefly remembered something and asked Clara a bit sheepishly.
"So… where do you even buy those things…?"
Although Firefly knew these top-tier treats existed, she'd only learned about them from scrolling through videos on her phone.
Being broke, she'd always lived by the principle that 'seeing is as good as eating' whenever such videos popped up.
So, she had absolutely no idea where to actually take Clara to eat them.
Then again, the Xianzhou prawns and the Interastral Peace Corporation's limited-edition cake… those must be sold on the Xianzhou and at the IPC, right?
"Hmm… let me think."
To be honest, Clara didn't know where to buy that stuff either.
After all, until recently, she'd been in the same boat as Firefly—stone broke, wailing internally.
Firmly believing that seeing was indeed as good as eating.
So, Clara herself had no clue where to find them…
She'd only mentioned those things because they were the most expensive foods she could think of, not because she actually craved them.
Well, except for the IPC's limited-edition cake. She really did want that one, eyes sparkling.
But that cake seemed impossible to get right now…
'I wonder if contacting Asta could get me one?'
Clara filed the idea away in her mind, deciding to reach out to Asta once the money came through.
As for why not just storm the Interastral Peace Corporation and grab one?
Every limited-edition cake was pre-ordered and already had an owner. Clara wasn't that unscrupulous.
Besides, those cakes were made by the Corporation's own workers.
Her dislike for the company didn't extend to its employees.
Clara had received a proper nine-year education; she was 'reasonable and amiable.' If it were Sam, he'd probably just torch the whole place without a second thought.
Looked at that way, Clara's politeness was really just a handicap of being too civilized.
"I'm getting a bit hungry. Let's just grab something nearby for now."
"Okay." Firefly nodded, glancing around. "Then let's eat around here."
Clara looked around too, her tone skeptical. "But, seriously, does a godforsaken place like this have anything good to eat?"
"I don't know. Let's just ask someone." Firefly shook her head just as two men walked toward them.
One had bright yellow hair, the other green. Their faces and bodies were covered in scars. Hands stuffed in their pockets, they chewed on cigarettes, radiating a 'stay away' vibe.
Spotting Clara and Firefly, the two men froze for a moment, then broke into sinister grins, muttering something to each other.
"Clara, wait here. I'll go ask them for directions." Firefly said to Clara first, then jogged over toward the two men.
Clara: "…"
Clara's mouth twitched. She couldn't help but feel a wave of exasperation inwardly.
Firefly, oh Firefly, these two might as well have 'I'm a bad guy' tattooed on their foreheads.
And in this situation, Firefly was actually running over to ask them for directions…
Ah, whatever. It made no difference. If those two actually tried anything, they'd be the unlucky ones.
Clara yawned, initially planning to just stand there and wait quietly for Firefly to return.
But watching Firefly converse with the two, Clara's eyes sparkled with a sudden idea. A smile spread across her face as she slowly ambled over.
…
Watching Firefly jog toward them, the yellow-haired and green-haired men's eyes instantly lit up. Their gazes swept over Firefly from head to toe, filled with predatory hunger.
Feeling their stares, Firefly frowned uncomfortably. But for Clara's sake, she suppressed the urge to set them both on fire and asked, "Excuse me, are there any good restaurants around here?"
"Good restaurants?" The yellow-haired man shot a look at his green-haired companion, then grinned in a way that utterly failed to conceal his thoughts. "Yeah, of course there are."
"I know a really great place, famous even across the cosmos. Why don't I take you there myself?"
He licked his lips and reached out to grab Firefly's hand, but she easily dodged.
"That won't be necessary. Just tell me the address."
"Hehehe, the address is tricky, and it's in a pretty remote spot. I'm afraid you'd get lost. Let us escort you."
The more the yellow-haired man looked at Firefly, the more excited he got, his patience wearing thin. He spread his arms, aiming to pull her into a hug.
Sensing his ill intent, a cold glint flashed in Firefly's eyes. She was ready to ignite him.
"Ahem. A blondie, and a… greenie. Leave now, and no one gets hurt."
Just as Firefly was about to combust the pair, Clara slowly walked over, hands on her hips.
"Huh?"
Hearing Clara's words, Firefly was momentarily stunned. Why did that line sound so familiar?
Once Clara appeared before them, the yellow and green-haired men's attention was completely captured by her. They were lost in fantasy.
"Otherwise… all of you will die here!!!"
"Ah!"
Firefly finally realized why it sounded familiar. Wasn't that exactly what she had said to those hundred bounty hunters in the deathmatch arena?!
Firefly reached out to cover Clara's mouth, but Clara deftly evaded her.
Ughhh~ Firefly wished she could dig a hole and bury herself right then. If she'd known Clara was in the audience that day, she wouldn't have said so much…
"We'll die?" Snapping out of their daze induced by Clara's stunning beauty, the two men found her words utterly ridiculous.
"Alright, alright, little girl, we'll die. Big bro will treat you to something nice, wanna come?"
Clara ignored them, keeping her hands on her hips as she continued: "When you get to hell, remember to tell everyone it was a Stellaron Hunter, the super, invincibly cute Miss Firefly, who sent you on your final journey!"
"Aaaah, Clara, stop talking!" Firefly grabbed Clara by the collar, her face burning red, about to drip with embarrassment.
"Stellaron Hunter?" Hearing this, the yellow and green-haired men exchanged a glance, then burst into laughter.
"Hahahaha, our luck's amazing! Meeting a peerless beauty who's also a complete nutjob."
Their eyes shone with excitement, already imagining a life of bliss from here on out.
Well, bliss was uncertain, but doom was guaranteed.
"Hmph! I will… set the seas ablaze!!!" Clara thrust out a hand, clenching it toward the two men, delivering a line that sounded incredibly cool.
"AAAAAAAH!"
Firefly couldn't take it anymore. She directly pulled out her transformer, morphing into Sam. Blazing flames instantly engulfed the yellow and green-haired men, leaving not a single trace behind.
