JAY- JAY POV

****NEXT DAY******

I never slept like this.

It was… amazing.

Safe in a way I hadn't felt in years.

Then I felt someone's hand on my waist.

At first, I didn't react.

I was still half-asleep, brain foggy, body heavy, probably still recovering from sleeping for like ten hours straight.

I shifted a little, trying to wake up properly but didn't wake up

The hand didn't move.

It tightened.

Slowly.

Gently.

Like it belonged there.

Maybe I'm dreaming.

Yes, I'm dreaming.

I have to be dreaming.

I opened my eyes, but everything was a bit blurry — that soft, hazy kind of morning blur where nothing feels real yet.

I blinked slowly.

My eyes were still blurry, so I closed them again and shifted closer to… whatever warm thing was beside me.

Maybe a Snorlax.

Yeah.

That made sense.

A big, warm, soft Snorlax.

I snuggled in a little more, still half-asleep, still convinced I was dreaming.

Then the "Snorlax" breathed.

Against my neck.

Then—

"Wifey… wake up," the Snorlax said.

Excuse me.

WIFEY?

What, did I marry a Snorlax now?

Honestly, nothing is impossible in dreams.

I once married a slab of pork belly in a dream.

It died early because I ate it all.

Tragic love story.

Gone too soon.

Anyway—

I blinked, still half-asleep, still convinced this was some weird food‑related dream sequence.

But then the Snorlax tightened his arm around my waist.

"More time…" I mumbled to the Snorlax, still half-asleep, still convinced this was a dream.

"Wifey, we've been sleeping for almost 10 hours," the Snorlax said, pulling me even closer.

Which made no sense because there was no space left.

None.

Zero.

Why was he pulling me closer?

Where did he expect me to go — inside his ribcage?

"Please, hubby… more time…" I whispered, snuggling into the Snorlax's chest and hiding there like a sleepy burrito.

"Then, hubby…" I called out again, still half-asleep.

"Hmm?" the Snorlax answered.

"Food," I mumbled.

"What do you want to eat?" he whispered in my ear—

and then he kissed my ear.

My brain short‑circuited.

For some reason, I woke up instantly, eyes snapping open like someone poured ice water on my soul.

I looked at the Snorlax.

It was not a Snorlax.

It was Keifer.

Keifer, grinning ear to ear like he just won the lottery, the Olympics, and my dignity all at once.

My heart dropped into my stomach.

What did I just do?

I called him hubby.

Out loud.

Multiple times.

While cuddling him.

While asking him for food.

While he kissed my ear.

Keifer's grin widened.

"Oh? Good morning… wifey."

I died.

"Wife your face," I muttered, shoving at his chest and trying to get out of his grip.

He actually let me go — which somehow made it worse — because the second I sat up, he sat up too, eyes sparkling like he'd just witnessed the funniest thing in the universe.

"You called me hubby," he said.

Smug.

Smiling.

Smug again.

"No I didn't," I said immediately.

Too fast.

Embarrassingly fast.

His grin widened.

"Yes, you did."

"No, I didn't."

"You did."

"I didn't."

"You did."

"I DIDN'T—"

He raised an eyebrow.

"Jay… you literally said 'hubby' three times."

I froze.

THREE?

THREE TIMES?

My soul left my body, came back, slapped me, and left again.

"I was DREAMING," I snapped. "I thought you were a Snorlax."

He blinked.

"A… Snorlax?"

"Yes," I said proudly, as if that made anything better. "A big, fat, useless Snorlax."

He stared at me.

Then he laughed.

A full, loud, I'm-going-to-die-right-here laugh.

I glared at him, cheeks burning.

"Stop laughing!"

"I can't," he wheezed. "My wifey called me hubby in her sleep—"

"SHUT UP."

Then—

the door flew open.

"Mama! Papa! You finally woke up!" Keira yelled, bursting into the room like a tiny tornado.

Thank God.

Thank every god.

Thank all the gods from every religion.

Thank the Snorlax gods too.

I sat up so fast I almost dislocated something.

Keifer, of course, was still grinning like he'd just witnessed the greatest comedy show of his life.

Keira climbed onto the bed, completely unaware of the emotional crisis I was having.

Then Kade and Kevin followed

Keifer leaned closer and whispered, "Saved by the kids, wifey."

I elbowed him hard.

"I'm not your wife," I snapped under my breath.

He didn't even flinch.

He just smirked — that slow, annoying, I-know-something-you-don't smirk.

"You know what— I think my phone is ringing. I'm going outside," I blurted, already halfway to the door.

I didn't even wait for a response.

I just escaped.

"Ma, your phone is here," Kevin said, holding it up like he was presenting evidence in court.

I froze in the hallway.

Of course it was.

Of course my own child would betray me like this.

I marched back into the room, grabbed my phone off the bed without looking at Keifer, and ran out again like the room was on fire.

I swear I heard him laugh behind me.

I didn't look back.

I refused.

If I looked at him, I would die on the spot.

KEIFER POV

After Jay left,

I couldn't hold it anymore.

I burst out laughing.

The kids all turned to look at me like I'd completely lost my mind.

Kade scooted closer, eyes wide.

"Papa, why did Mama run like that?"

I wiped a tear from the corner of my eye, still trying to calm down.

How was I supposed to explain that their mother called me hubby in her sleep, cuddled me like a koala, and then sprinted out of the room like she was escaping a crime scene?

I took a breath.

"She's… shy," I said, trying not to laugh again.

Kevin frowned. "Mama? Shy?"

Keira tilted her head. "Mama only runs like that when she's embarrassed."

I choked.

Embarrassed.

Yeah.

That was one word for it.

Kade climbed onto my lap. "Papa, what did you do?"

I smiled, ruffling his hair.

"Nothing," I said, still grinning. "Mama just had a funny dream."

A very, very funny dream.

One I was never letting her forget.

"Papa, you and Mama should go somewhere," Kevin said, walking up to me with that serious little face of his.

"Like where?" I asked. "I don't think your mom will go with me though."

"Ask Mabel. Actually—let me call her," Kade said, already jumping off the bed.

Before I could say anything, he came back dragging Mabel behind him.

"Good morning, sir," she greeted politely.

"Sit here, Mabel," Keira said, patting the bed like she owned the place.

Mabel looked at me for permission.

I nodded.

She sat down carefully, eyes flicking between me and the kids like she was about to be assigned a mission.

Kevin crossed his arms. "We want Mama and Papa to go somewhere alone, but Mama won't agree."

Mabel cleared her throat. "Sir… they have a point. You two haven't had time alone in years."

Keira nodded aggressively. "Mama needs to relax."

Kade added, "Papa too."

Kevin looked at me with that older‑brother seriousness. "You should take her somewhere nice."

I stared at all of them.

"Where?" I asked.

"Sir, maybe take her to a beach, as Ma'am likes the beach," Mabel suggested gently.

A beach.

Yeah… Jay always loved the ocean.

But convincing her to go with me?

That was the problem.

"But how do we convince her?" I asked, rubbing the back of my neck.

"Don't worry, Papa. We will convince Mama," Kevin said, already plotting like a tiny mastermind.

I almost laughed.

The expression on his face—

the narrowed eyes,

the little smirk,

the way he was already calculating—

He looked exactly like me.

Kade nodded seriously. "Mama always listens to us."

Keira added, "And if she doesn't, we'll make her."

Mabel blinked. "Make her… how?"

All three kids turned to her with the same mischievous smile.

I swear Mabel almost prayed.

I couldn't help it—I chuckled under my breath.

These kids…

my kids…

They were dangerous when they teamed up.

JAY-JAY POV

The kids came to me and dragged me back to my room.

Literally dragged.

Like I was a suitcase.

Keifer wasn't there, thank God, but before I could even breathe, they all rushed straight to my closet.

"What are you guys doing?" I asked, watching them tear through my clothes like tiny fashion consultants on a mission.

They didn't answer.

Not a word.

They just kept digging, tossing shirts, holding dresses up to the light, whispering to each other like they were planning a heist.

Then—

they found an outfit.

A cute one.

Suspiciously cute.

Before I could protest, they shoved it into my hands.

"Wear this," Keira said.

"What? Why? Where am I going? What is happening?" I asked, trying to keep up.

No one answered.

Kevin zipped up the back of the dress.

Kade fixed my hair.

Keira adjusted my sleeves like she was preparing me for a royal ball.

I kept asking questions.

They kept ignoring me.

I felt like a doll being prepared for a wedding I didn't know about.

Finally, when they were done, they stepped back and nodded at each other like they'd completed a mission.

I stared at them.

"What is going on?"

They all smiled.

Too sweetly.

Too suspiciously.

I was terrified.

Before I could even breathe, the kids grabbed my hands.

Not gently.

Not politely.

Like I was a criminal being escorted to jail.

"Come on, Mama!" Keira said, pulling me toward the door.

"Wait—where are we going? Why am I dressed like this? Why are you all smiling like villains?" I demanded, trying to dig my heels into the floor.

They did not care.

Kevin pushed from behind.

Kade pulled from the front.

Keira held onto my arm like she was afraid I'd run away.

"Mama, hurry!" Kade said.

"I AM hurrying—stop dragging me like a sack of potatoes!"

They ignored me.

Of course they did.

They dragged me down the hallway, down the stairs, straight toward the living room like they were delivering me to my doom.

I tried again. "Kids, seriously, what is happening?"

Still no answer.

Just three tiny soldiers marching me to my fate.

When we reached the bottom of the stairs, they all stopped at once.

I stumbled forward, caught myself, and glared at them.

"Okay. Someone explain. Now."

They all turned toward the living room.

I followed their gaze.

And there he was.

Keifer.

Standing there.

Waiting.

Looking way too good for this early in the morning.

The kids grinned.

I was doomed.

"Ma, you and Papa are going somewhere for the whole day. And don't come home until tomorrow. Mabel will take care of us," Kevin said with the confidence of a CEO firing me from my own house.

I opened my mouth to protest—

But I didn't even get the chance.

Because the next thing I knew, all three of them grabbed me again.

"Wait—WAIT—kids, what are you—?!"

They dragged me out the front door like I was a hostage being transferred to another location.

I swear I didn't even feel my feet touch the ground.

One second I was in the hallway.

The next second I was outside.

The next second after that—

I was in the car.

In.

The.

Car.

Strapped in.

Seatbelt buckled.

I don't even know how they did it.

They're small.

I'm not.

Physics should've stopped them.

But no.

Apparently, when my children team up, they gain the combined strength of a forklift.

I sat there, stunned, gripping my phone like it was a lifeline.

"What is happening?" I whispered to myself.

The kids just waved at me from the doorway like they were sending me off to summer camp.

And then—

Someone opened the driver's door.

I didn't even have to look to know who it was.

Keifer.

Of course.

"BYE MAMA! BYE PAPA! HAVE FUN!" they all shouted together, waving like they were sending us off on our honeymoon.

Traitors.

All three of them.

I whipped my head toward Keifer just as he smiled and started the car like this was the most normal thing in the world.

"YOU MADE THE KIDS KIDNAP ME!" I yelled, pointing at him like a dramatic lawyer in court.

He didn't even flinch.

"Not really," Keifer said casually. "They also kidnapped me."

I blinked.

"What?"

He shrugged, eyes still on the road. "They dragged me out of bed, pushed me into the bathroom, told me to shower."

I rolled my eyes so hard I almost saw my brain.

"Where are we going?" I asked, already bracing myself.

"Beach," he said simply.

I didn't respond.

Because if I opened my mouth right now, I would start cursing in three languages and maybe invent a fourth.

So I stared out the window, arms crossed, pretending I wasn't dressed nicely, pretending I wasn't in a car with him, pretending this wasn't happening.

But then—

I noticed it.

He kept glancing at me.

Then we reached our destination.

And… wow.

It was pretty.

Like—real pretty.

The kind of pretty that makes your chest feel weird and your brain go quiet.

The sand was smooth, the water calm, the sky soft and bright.

Blankets were set up.

A small table.

Food.

Drinks.

Of course this asshole prepared the place.

"Do you remember this beach?" he asked quietly.

"No," I said immediately, walking ahead so he wouldn't see my face.

"It was the last gift I gave you," he said, voice softer now. "Before… everything happened."

I froze.

My breath caught.

And then—

I remembered.

The last time we were here.

The way he kept looking at me like I was the only thing that mattered.

The way he promised he'd always be there.

Before everything fell apart after.

My chest tightened.

I kept walking and saw the food laid out on the table.

I didn't care about the beach, the memories, the setup—

I cared about the food.

I grabbed a plate and started eating immediately.

"Jay, don't. It's hot," he warned. "It's also spicy."

I ignored him.

Of course I ignored him.

I shoved the food into my mouth.

It was good.

Really good.

Wait.

Then I swallowed.

And instantly regretted every decision I had ever made.

"It's hot!" I yelped, basically jumping in place. "It's also spicy!"

Keifer burst out laughing.

"I told you not to eat it," he said, leaning back like he was watching a comedy show.

I glared at him while fanning my mouth with my hand.

"Why would you make it spicy?!"

"I didn't," he said, still laughing. "You picked the spiciest one on the table."

I froze.

Then looked at the plate.

Then looked at him.

"You should've stopped me!"

"I tried," he said, wiping a tear from the corner of his eye. "But you don't listen to anyone."

I wanted to throw the plate at him.

"Help me, damn it!" I yelled, still jumping around like my tongue was on fire.

He just laughed harder.

I snapped.

I couldn't take it anymore.

So I marched straight up to him and kissed him.

I didn't even think.

My brain was gone.

Burned away by spice.

I only realized what I'd done after I did it.

He froze.

Completely still.

Then—

slowly—

he started moving his lips against mine.

You think I kissed him because I missed his lips?

HELL. TO. THE. NO.

I didn't kiss him because I missed him.

I kissed him because I wanted him to suffer the same spiciness I was suffering.

So I leaned in, swiped my tongue against his—just enough to transfer the spice—and then pulled back like nothing happened.

Keifer just sat there.

Blinking.

Processing.

Then—

"What the— it's too spicy!" he yelled, grabbing his mouth like it had personally betrayed him.

Then he started waving his hands in the air.

Then he started jumping.

Like full‑on jumping.

Like the floor was lava and his tongue was dying.

I stared at him, absolutely unimpressed.

The spiciness was still burning my tongue, so I marched inside the house to get milk.

I opened the fridge—thank God, there was milk—and I started drinking straight from the carton like a desperate person.

Finally, the fire in my mouth calmed down.

I was just about to put the milk back when—

Keifer suddenly stepped in front of me and kissed me.

I froze.

Completely shocked.

Then he tilted his head slightly, putting his tongue in mine

to taste the leftover milk and spice.

And then he pulled back like nothing happened.

"Thanks for the milk, wifey," he whispered, voice low and annoyingly smug.

My brain short‑circuited.

I shoved him away. "Asshole."

He just grinned, leaning against the counter like he hadn't just ambushed me in my own kitchen.

"You started it," he said.

"I was dying," I snapped.

"And now I'm not," he replied, tapping his lips. "Teamwork."

I glared at him so hard the fridge light flickered.

He only smiled wider.
