Chapter 4 - When Trust Turned Into Fire

KEIGAN POV

That Jay‑Jay girl.

I don't see what Kuya sees in her.

She's just a girl — not the pretty, polished type Kuya usually goes for.

She's a tomboy, loud, chaotic, always running around like she's being chased by a ghost.

And yet…

Kuya looks at her as if she had hung the moon.

I don't get it.

I hate the fact that Kuya prioritizes her over us.

It's like ever since that Jay‑Jay girl showed up, everything shifted.

He used to come home and talk to us.

Now?

Now he's out there buying beaches and decorating houses in her favorite color.

For her.

Not for us.

Not for his family.

For her.

I have to remove that girl from Kuya's life.

Not… like, remove remove.

I just need to make sure she stops taking all of Kuya's attention.

Stops making him forget he has a family.

So I called the one person who would help me in—

"Keigan, what do you want?" he asked from the other side, sounding… sad.

Perfect.

Exactly what I need.

"Come to our house," I said flatly.

"Okay," he said, voice small. "Give me 20 minutes."

"Make it fast."

I hung up before he could say anything else.

I wasn't planning some stupid prank.

This was about Kuya.

About how he used to put us first.

About how he used to care.

Before she showed up.

Jay‑Jay.

The girl who somehow managed to take everything.

His time.

His attention.

In 20 minutes, he came.

The door opened quietly then came the calm footsteps and a familiar presence.

"Yuri," I said.

He stepped inside, closing the door behind him with that same controlled, unreadable expression he always had.

No smile.

No confusion.

No questions.

Just silence.

Good.

That's why I called him.

He looked at me, eyes sharp, posture straight.

"Why did you call me?" he asked, voice low, steady.

I didn't answer his question.

Instead, I asked mine.

"You still love that Jay‑Jay girl."

I already knew the answer.

He didn't speak.

He just nodded.

"Yuri, let me get straight to my point," I said, voice flat. "I want that Jay‑Jay girl out of my brother's life. Help me."

"What would I get in return?" Yuri asked, tone unreadable.

I smiled — sharp, calculated.

"You love that girl. So if Kuya and she break up, you can get with her."

Yuri studied me for a long moment.

Not shocked.

Not offended.

Just… thinking.

Then he nodded once. "Fine with me. But let me remind you — I don't want to see Jay get hurt."

Tss.

Of course he'd say that.

"She will get hurt after she breaks up with Kuya," I said, shrugging. "That's where you come in and make her yours."

Yuri's eyes narrowed — not angry, but assessing.

"You're assuming she'll fall for me," he said quietly.

"She will," I said. "She's emotional. She clings to whoever catches her when she falls."

Yuri didn't respond immediately.

He just exhaled slowly, like he was weighing every word.

"I'll help you," he said at last. "But I'm not destroying her. I'm not humiliating her. I'm not lying to her."

I rolled my eyes. "Relax. I'm not asking you to ruin her life. I just want her out of Kuya's."

"So what's the plan?" Yuri asked, voice steady, unreadable.

"Everything is set up," I said. "You just have to make sure you do your part."

He just watched me — eyes sharp, expression flat — like he was dissecting every word I said.

"My part," he repeated slowly. "Which is?"

I explained the plan — every step, every detail, every piece that needed to fall into place.

Yuri didn't interrupt.

He didn't react.

He just listened, eyes sharp, face unreadable.

When I finished, he finally spoke.

"Jay will get hurt and humiliated," Yuri said.

I leaned back, arms crossed. "Breakups hurt. That's normal."

Yuri shook his head once. "That's not what I mean."

He stepped closer, gaze steady.

"You're not just separating her from Keifer. You're setting her up to fall. Hard."

I didn't flinch. "She'll survive."

"That's not the point," Yuri said quietly. "You want her to feel alone. Cornered. Doubtful. That's humiliation, Keigan."

I clenched my jaw. "Do you want her or not?"

His eyes flickered — the only sign he was affected at all.

"If we do this plan," I continued, voice low, steady, unforgiving, "when everyone hates and doubts her, you go to her side and help her. Make her yours."

Yuri didn't speak.

He didn't breathe.

He just stared at me — like he was weighing the cost of what I was asking him to do.

Finally, he exhaled.

"Fine," Yuri said.

"When will we do this?" he asked.

"Tomorrow," I said.

The word felt heavy in the air — sharp, final, like a countdown had started.

Yuri nodded once, slow and deliberate. "Then tomorrow."

"You can go home and prepare yourself for tomorrow," I said to Yuri.

He nodded once — calm, controlled, unreadable — then walked out without another word.

The door clicked shut behind him.

Silence filled the room.

A heavy, sharp silence that made my chest feel tight.

Tomorrow.

Everything will change tomorrow.

I sat there, staring at the floor, replaying the plan in my head, making sure every piece was in place.

Jay wouldn't see it coming.

Kuya wouldn't either.

And then, thirty minutes later…

The front door opened.

Kuya walked in — smiling to himself.

Smiling.

Like he just came back from the best day of his life.

Like nothing in the world could touch him.

Like he didn't even notice how far he'd drifted from us.

He didn't see me at first.

He just stood there, leaning against the doorframe, eyes soft, lips curved in that stupid gentle smile he never used to show anyone.

Except now he shows it for her.

Jay‑Jay.

My jaw tightened.

He finally looked up and noticed me.

"Oh, Keigan," he said, still smiling. "Did you eat? I brought something for you."

"Keiran is already asleep," I said flatly.

He blinked, then nodded. "Then you should sleep too. You have school tomorrow."

I just nodded.

He didn't notice the way my jaw tightened.

He didn't notice the way I didn't look at the food he brought.

He didn't notice anything.

He just walked to his room — humming under his breath, still smiling to himself like he was floating.

Like he was in love.

Like nothing else mattered.

The door closed behind him with a soft click.

And the house went quiet.

Too quiet.

I stood there in the dim light of the living room, staring at the spot where he'd been standing.

The bag of food sat on the table, untouched.

Still warm.

He used to sit with us.

Eat with us.

Talk to us.

Now he brings food like a delivery driver and disappears into his room with that stupid soft smile — the one he only has because of her.

Jay‑Jay.

I clenched my fists.

Tomorrow.

Tomorrow everything changes.

Tomorrow she stops being the center of his world.

Tomorrow I take my brother back.

No matter what it costs.

Yuri called me.

"Keigan."

"Yes," I answered immediately.

"I did what you told me I sent the picture to Keifer," Yuri said. "And Jay was crying the whole time."

Good.

Exactly what I needed.

"Okay. What's happening right now?" I asked, pacing.

"I don't know," Yuri said. "Keifer took her somewhere. He looked really mad."

I stopped walking.

Mad?

Kuya doesn't get mad easily.

Not with her.

Not when it comes to her.

Good that means the plan is working

"What do you mean mad," I said, voice low.

"I mean mad," Yuri repeated. "Jaw clenched. Eyes cold. He didn't even look at me. He just grabbed her hand and walked off."

Before I could respond, I heard the front door open.

Then I saw Kuya walking inside the house.

With her.

Jay‑Jay.

Her eyes were red.

She looked like she'd been crying for hours.

Good.

But Kuya—

Kuya looked furious.

Furious.

I pressed the phone tighter to my ear. "I'll talk to you later."

"Okay," Yuri said.

I hung up.

NEXT DAY AFTER THE DATE WITH KEIFER

JAY-JAY POV

I woke up with a bad feeling today.

Not the normal kind — not the "I forgot to do my homework" kind or the "I overslept" kind.

This one sat heavy in my chest.

Like something was waiting for me.

Like something already went wrong and I just didn't know it yet.

Which made no sense.

Yesterday was great.

Perfect, even.

Keifer took me out, held my hand, smiled at me like I was the only person in the world.

For the first time in a long time, I felt… safe.

But now?

My heart felt tight.

My stomach twisted.

My whole body felt like it was bracing for something.

I pulled the blanket up to my chin and stared at the ceiling.

Why did it feel like today was going to hurt?

Why did it feel like something was coming?

I tried to shake it off, but the feeling wouldn't leave.

It clung to me — heavy, cold, stubborn.

Like a warning.

Like a whisper in the back of my mind:

Be careful today.

I swallowed hard and sat up, rubbing my eyes.

"Please," I whispered to myself, "let today be normal."

I forced myself out of bed, dragging my feet to the bathroom.

The hot water didn't help.

The steam didn't help.

Even after I got dressed, the heaviness in my chest stayed exactly where it was.

I went downstairs and ate breakfast.

"Jay, I will drop you two at school today," Kuya said, pointing at me and Aries.

I just nodded.

My chest still felt heavy, like something was sitting on it. Aries didn't notice anything — he was too busy yawning and dragging his feet like he always did in the morning.

After breakfast, we got into Kuya's car.

The engine hummed softly, the morning sun barely peeking through the windshield.

Kuya drove for a few minutes in comfortable silence… until he suddenly spoke.

"Jay, where is that Percy? I haven't seen him."

I sighed, "That idiot went to New York and didn't talk to me after that."

Kuya just nodded, not pushing the topic anymore.

We reached the school in no time.

Kuya parked, Aries jumped out first, and I followed, still feeling that weird heaviness in my chest.

Aries suddenly stopped walking.

I almost bumped into him, but then I heard it too.

The noises coming from the Section E building.

Not the usual chaos.

Not the boys yelling or laughing or arguing like they always do.

This was different.

Quiet.

Sharp.

Wrong.

"I'm coming with you," Aries said, already stepping closer to me.

I nodded, grateful even if I didn't say it out loud.

"Aries, why are you going with her?" Kuya asked as he walked up behind us, keys still in his hand.

Aries didn't even hesitate. "I don't know, they look like they're fighting again."

He answered for me

Kuya sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "I'm coming too."

That's when I knew it was serious.

Kuya never gets involved in school drama.

He never walks me inside unless something feels off.

And today?

Everything felt off.

But nothing — nothing — prepared me for what I saw when I stepped inside the classroom with Kuya and Aries.

Keifer was throwing chairs.

Actual chairs.

One hit a desk and clattered to the floor. Another slammed against the wall. The whole room shook with every crash.

And everyone…

Everyone was staring at me.

Like I was the reason.

Like I caused this.

Like I did something unforgivable.

My breath caught in my throat.

I went to Keifer, heart pounding so hard it felt like it might burst.

"What are you doing?" I asked.

He whipped around so fast I flinched.

"Why are you here?" he said with a raw scream tore from his throat

I froze.

My breath caught in my throat.

My hands went cold.

My whole body just… stopped.

Because the look in his eyes wasn't just anger.

It was hurt.

Deep, raw hurt.

Like I had done something unforgivable and didn't even know what it was.

"Keifer…" I whispered, voice trembling.

He took a step toward me, chest rising and falling too fast, like he was trying to hold himself together and failing.

"Why are you here," he repeated, quieter this time but somehow worse.

"Keifer, what are you doing?" Aries asked, stepping forward.

Keifer didn't even look at him.

"Why don't you ask your sister?" he snapped.

My stomach dropped.

Aries blinked. "What? What did she do?"

"What the hell are you talking about, Keifer?" Kuya cut in, voice sharp, stepping in front of me again.

"Here. Look at it," Keifer said, throwing some pictures at Kuya and Aries.

They scattered across the floor.

Kuya bent down, picked one up.

Aries grabbed another.

And then both of them froze.

It was me.

Me… in a club.

Me… kissing some guy I didn't even recognize.

My heart dropped straight to my stomach.

"What the hell is this, Jay?" Kuya asked, turning to me with wide eyes with anger

"Kuya, that wasn't me," I said, my voice cracking as my eyes burned.

Aries stepped forward, jaw tight.

"Jay, stop lying. Just admit you did it."

His words hit harder than the pictures.

My own brother didn't believe me.

"But Aries, I didn't—this was edited," I said, my voice shaking. "I swear, that's not me."

Aries scoffed, holding up the photo like it was proof carved in stone.

"Edited? Jay, this looks exactly like you. Same hair. Same face," Kuya said, his voice low and tight.

My heart dropped straight to the floor.

And then the room exploded.

Everyone started talking at once — whispers, accusations, confusion — all of it crashing into me like a wave I couldn't breathe under.

"Jay, why would you do that?" Felix asked, staring at me

His voice wasn't angry.

It was disappointed.

"Jay, please explain," David said, stepping forward, brows furrowed. "Because right now it looks really bad."

I looked at Section E — desperate, shaking, begging silently for someone, anyone, to help me.

"Edrix," I said, voice cracking, "aren't you good at this stuff? Please tell them it's edited."

Edrix didn't even hesitate.

"Jay… this looks way too real to be edited."

My stomach dropped.

I turned to Ci‑n next — because if anyone would defend me, it would be him.

But he just stared at me.

His eyes were red.

Not from anger.

From disappointment.

"Ci‑n…" I whispered.

He looked away.

Like he couldn't even stand to look at me.

My chest tightened painfully.

Then Josh spoke.

"I knew you were only in our Section E to hurt one of us."

The words hit me like a punch.

I felt the air leave my lungs.

"Josh… no," I whispered, shaking my head. "I would never—"

"You already did," he said quietly.

"Please believe me" I said with tears in my eyes

I shook my head, tears blurring everything.

"I didn't do this," I whispered.

But no one heard me.

Or maybe they did — they just didn't believe it.

"Just shut up and explain why you did this," Keifer said.

His voice wasn't just angry.

It was hurt.

And somehow, that hurt more than the yelling.

"Keifer," I said, my voice barely holding together, "I didn't do it."

"I never knew my sister was characterless," Aries said.

The word hit me like a slap.

My breath caught.

My knees almost gave out.

"We never raised you to be like this, Jay," Kuya said, his voice low and disappointed.

That one hurt the most.

Kuya never talked to me like that.

Never.

My chest tightened so hard it felt like I couldn't breathe.

"Kuya…" I whispered, shaking my head. "Aries… please. I didn't do this."

Aries looked away, jaw clenched.

Kuya's eyes were cold — angry, hurt, disappointment

 Like I had betrayed them.

Like I wasn't their Jay anymore.

Tears blurred my vision. "Kuya, you know me. You know I wouldn't—"

"Then explain the pictures," he said sharply.

"I CAN'T!" I cried, voice cracking. "Because I didn't do it! Someone edited them!"

Aries scoffed. "Jay, stop lying. Just admit it."

"I'm not lying!" I yelled, my voice breaking completely. "Why won't you believe me?"

I looked at Keifer.

And he looked right back at me.

For a second, everything went silent — the whispers, the accusations, even Kuya and Aries' voices faded into the background.

It was just me and him.

His eyes were full of something I couldn't read — anger, hurt, betrayal, confusion — all mixed together until it felt like he wasn't even Keifer anymore.

Then, without saying a single word…

He grabbed my wrist.

Painfully, harshly

"Keifer, please—" I said, trying to pull my wrist free because the grip hurt.

But he didn't loosen it.

He didn't even slow down.

He pulled me out of the classroom.

Kuya shouted my name.

Aries tried to follow.

Someone knocked over a chair.

The whole class erupted again—voices rising, people yelling, desks scraping.

But Keifer didn't stop.

He dragged me down the hallway, his steps fast and uneven, like he was running from something inside his own head.

"Keifer, you're hurting me," I said, my voice shaking.

He froze for a split second and only tightened his grip

He dragged me to his car and put me in the passenger seat, slamming the door shut before I could even react.

My heart was pounding so hard it hurt.

He got into the driver's seat, hands shaking as he jammed the key into the ignition. The engine roared to life, and he pulled out of the parking lot too fast, breathing unevenly.

"Keifer, please listen—" I said, voice trembling.

"Just shut up," he snapped.

The words hit me like a punch.

I froze.

His jaw was clenched so tight it looked painful.

His grip on the steering wheel was white-knuckled, like he was holding onto it to keep himself from falling apart.

"Keifer… you're scaring me," I whispered.

He didn't look at me.

He didn't blink.

He just kept driving, eyes fixed on the road, chest rising and falling too fast

He stopped the car so suddenly my body jerked forward.

When I looked out the window, my stomach dropped.

We were at his house.

Before I could even process it, he was already out of the car, yanking my door open. He grabbed my wrist again and dragged me toward the front door, his steps fast and uneven.

"Keifer—please—" I tried, stumbling after him.

He didn't answer.

He didn't even look at me.

He just pulled me inside.

The moment we stepped into the living room, I saw Keigan standing there

"Kuya—" he started

"Get out of the house, Keigan. Take Keiran with you," Keifer said, voice low

Keigan blinked. "What are you—"

"Just do what I tell you to do!" Keifer yelled, louder than I'd ever heard him.

Keigan froze.

He looked at me—really looked—and his expression shifted from confusion to worry.

"Keigan, Keiran, out. Now," Keifer said.

His voice wasn't loud.

It was worse.

Sharp.

Cold.

Controlled in that terrifying way that meant he was seconds away from exploding.

Keigan didn't argue.

He grabbed Keiran and rushed out.

The moment the door shut, Keifer turned to the maids.

"Everyone get out of the house."

They froze for half a second —then they all nodded and hurried out.

The door clicked.

Silence.

It was just me and Keifer in the house.

My heart hammered against my ribs.

He stood there, chest rising and falling too fast, fists clenched at his sides, jaw tight enough to crack.

Please comment and tell me how it was — I tried my best😭💬💙

And also, please don't hate Keigan.

In the story, he's dealing with Multiple Personality Disorder, so his behavior is supposed to be all over the place 👀💭

It's part of his character arc, and honestly… it's only gonna get worse from here 😭🔥

So yeah… prepare yourselves.😭😭😭
