Chapter 122 - Chapter 119 Toxapex?

I'll just surrender it if I encounter it... I won't let it have its fun!

"Lucario is also a popular Pokémon."

"Unfortunately, only Aura can unleash Lucario's full potential."

Bai Yu slowly shook his head, though he did have the idea of catching Lucario.

Thinking about how Lucario is inherently warlike, and his team already had so many warlike Pokémon, adding more Lucarios wouldn't fit the subsequent team composition.

Rather than an offensive team, Bai Yu preferred a defensive, defensive, and poisonous team, represented by Gliscor—a "bladder team." He wanted to let the trainers of this world experience real Pokémon battles.

This had always been Bai Yu's thought, and that was the trainer's way that he had always adhered to.

  The little incident quickly passed.

Bai Yu returned to the backyard and immediately noticed the feather in Sabrina's hand.

Rainbow Feather?!   Bai Yu was taken aback. If he remembered correctly, this feather should have been on Xiao Lan. The Rainbow Feather and Silver Feather created the GS Ball, and that GS Ball was used to capture Celebi, the Time God.

How did it end up in Sabrina's hands? Could it be that Xiao Lan deliberately left it behind when she visited the gym last time?   That little thief actually had such a kind heart?   Bai Yu thought about the Xiao Lan he remembered. Given Xiao Lan's personality, she wouldn't do such a thing at this stage, after all, she had always been focused on survival.

After Team Rocket's defeat, she went to Professor Oak's lab and spoke with him, then took on the responsibility of a Pokédex holder to catch all sorts of Pokémon to fill the National Pokédex.

Xiao Lan also appeared in the 25th Anniversary Short, along with another trainer who was Xiao Lan's rival. That person's setting was somewhat similar to Red's.

In another parallel universe, Red was called Xiao Jin. He would also become the Kanto League Champion in the future. He used very few Pokémon different from Red, and his main Pokémon was a Pikachu.

There's another one... Bai Yu remembers it being Ayumi. If all these trainers appear, things will get even more interesting. Ayumi and Koshin seem to be juniors of the Green and Crimson generations.

Judging by the time, they haven't even left Pallet Town yet, so it's probably not time to start their journey.

Bai Yu shook his head. There are many trainers in the Kanto Region, and even more powerful ones. Compared to other generations, Kanto is definitely a monster region.

Whether it's the games, special episodes, or the main characters in the anime, you can see the influence of Kanto. After all, this region is the first part of Origin.

"What's wrong? Didn't you have a good chat with Lance?" Sabrina had already seen Bai Yu enter the backyard, but Bai Yu was standing there in a daze, seemingly lost in thought.

  "I just said something casually."

Bai Yu shook his head and threw out a Poké Ball.

A Larvitar appeared in front of Sabrina. The Larvitar seemed to sense something, scratched its cheek, rolled over, and continued sleeping.

Bai Yu's lips twitched at the sight. Why were all the Pokémon he'd gotten lately like this? The only one worth mentioning was Toxapex, at least it looked relatively normal.

"Was this kid sent by Lance? It looks a little... a little silly."

Sabrina crouched down and reached out to poke Larvitar's cheek, but Larvitar just scratched back, completely oblivious to its surroundings.

Normally, when Pokémon are released, they're curious about their surroundings, but this Larvitar was completely different; all it did was sleep. Ads by PubRevAds by PubRev

"Being a little silly is fine, as long as it doesn't cause trouble."

Bai Yu sighed. Being a little silly is fine, anyway, all it needs is to control the weather; it doesn't really need anything else.

This Pokémon, Flying Dragon, has already been registered in the League for Bai Yu. Bai Yu also took out his Pokédex to check Larvitar's stats, especially its ability.

Although the system can scan information, detailed move descriptions still require entering the game.

Given Larvitar's current state, it's better to check with the Pokédex; the difference between the two isn't that significant.

'Ding~ Larvitar, Rock/Ground type, found in Johto, Unova, Kalos, etc.'

Ability: Guts   Moves: Tackle, Rockfall, Teeth of Teeth, Bite, Scary Face, Rock Slide, Dragon Dance (Egg Moves)   Description: Larvitar eats constantly, and then sleeps after it's full. This guy is quite the gourmet! Recently, I've been feeding it a special mix of various mountain soils. (Professor Oak's Lecture)

"Dragon Dance?" Bai Yu looked at the Larvitar in front of him. It

had actually inherited Dragon Dance! However, considering Lance's personality, Bai Yu

wasn't surprised. After all, Lance came from a family of dragons, and this Larvitar was very likely a Pokémon raised by that family, probably intended as Lance's main Pokémon.

It's just that Lance didn't like Pokémon other than dragons; he also had a Tyranitar in the special episode, which he ultimately gave to Silver. There should be some connection between the two.

This Larvitar was probably the Tyranitar that Lance would give to Silver in the future.

After all, by the Gold and Silver seasons, Red had already become a legendary trainer.

"Knows Dragon Dance, this Larvitar has a high potential."

Sabrina also heard the information from the Pokédex and was a little surprised. This little guy actually knew Dragon Dance; it was quite a hidden talent.

  "Yes." Bai Yu nodded.

Dragon Dance is one of the few ways for Dragon-type Pokémon to increase their attack.

A single Dragon Dance can boost Attack and Speed by one stage. In a match, even a small increase can determine the outcome. It's a pity that this certain Garchomp doesn't know Dragon Dance.

Indeed, the title "Ground Dragon" doesn't describe Garchomp, but rather my dragon-headed Excadrill.

"This feather, I think it should belong to you."

Sabrina stood up and handed the feather to Bai Yu. The Rainbow Feather sounds very prestigious, but it's actually just a feather from Ho-Oh.

It carries a trace of Ho-Oh's aura; simply put, the trainer who possesses this feather is essentially under the protection of that Ho-Oh.

As for whether Ho-Oh will appear at a crucial moment, that depends on the region. If it appears in the Unova region, the time it takes to fly over would probably be enough for it to die several times over.

"Where did you find this feather?" Bai Yu was still a little curious.

  "Where Gengar was eating,"

Sabrina pointed to a dark shadow not far away without giving it much thought.

  Eating?

Bai Yu glanced at the shadow, seemingly realizing something.

If Bai Yu wasn't mistaken, this feather shouldn't have anything to do with Xiao Lan.

That Pokémon seemed to be from Kanto, but it should be a Pokémon from another world, appearing in a movie. Besides, shouldn't this feather be given to Ash?   Bai Yu was increasingly confused about this world. Even if Ash suddenly appeared to challenge him, or Alain suddenly appeared in Kanto, he wouldn't find it strange.

"This feather is quite pretty, I'll let Gengar and the others play with it."

Bai Yu looked at the Rainbow Feather in his hand; he had no interest in Ho-Oh.

  At least not now.

That old guy, Liu Bo, was dreaming of finding Ho-Oh and Lugia's whereabouts; Ho-Oh's appearance now would only cause more trouble.

The Kanto League can't even handle a small Team Rocket, let alone Lyub from the Johto region, whose strength is comparable to Giovanni's.

The addition of Liu Bo will only worsen and confuse the situation in the League.

Moreover, Red hasn't fully matured yet, nor have Blue and the others. Any unforeseen events will only hasten the League's demise, and then the Elite Four cause trouble again.

The Kanto Region was in an uproar.

"That feather comes from Ho-Oh, a legendary being in Kanto." Sabrina watched as Bai Yu tossed the feather to Gengar. Gengar grabbed the feather, about to swallow it, but Bai Yu scared it off with a look.

  "Giggle~"

Gengar clutched the feather, treating it like a precious treasure.

"It's alright. Ho-Oh is probably flying somewhere now. Besides, it's just a feather."

Bai Yu shook his head. Even if Ho-Oh knew, it wouldn't do anything.

"Alright then, it depends on your plans, Little White."

Sabrina was still surprised by Bai Yu's actions. Who exactly was that Rainbow Warrior who appeared in her mind?   And what kind of power did that Pokémon possess that accompanied the Rainbow Warrior?

Bai Yu tossed the feather to Gengar and then ignored the matter, tidying up the backyard. Just as he was about to rest, he heard the receptionist call out,

"Gym Leader, today's challenger is here. It's an older man, and he doesn't seem friendly. Gym Leader, please be careful."

An older man? Bai Yu glanced at the Pokémon in the backyard, took out three Poké Balls, recalled three Pokémon, and headed towards the gym.

If it were a trainer younger than him, or even the same age, Bai Yu would send his strongest Pokémon to test their strength.

However, the fact that it was an older man dispelled Bai Yu's idea of going all out.

In Bai Yu's mind, older trainers were generally weak, and none of them could display extraordinary strength; the challengers he had seen before were all like that.

"What kind of crappy gym is this? Where's the gym leader? Come out and see me!"

Bai Yu heard a chorus of shouts even before he entered the arena.

Glancing at the stands, he saw quite a few trainers already seated there, all covering their mouths, afraid of bursting out laughing.

It seemed that the arrogant man on the field was the work of these spectators.

Honestly, they don't learn the good things, they only learn the bad things, always trying to trick others into coming to challenge them.

"Hey bro, what do you guys think that guy's going to do? I feel like he'll lose really badly, he actually called this gym a piece of trash."

"No, no, no~ I think he'll be tortured terribly. I have nightmares every night just thinking about that Toxapex, it's so sunny!"

"Yeah, I heard that almost all the visible Toxapex in Alola have been caught, only a few are hiding in the sea, impossible to catch."

"Just a Toxapex, if I encountered one..." One of the men was about to boast when he felt the intense gazes around him.

He swallowed hard, coughed slightly, and added, "If I encountered one... if I encountered one, I'd just surrender, I'd not let him have his fun, I'd make him suffer."

Many spectators thought he had some brilliant plan, but instead, he just spewed out a fart.

However, upon closer examination, this fart did have some merit: don't fight, just surrender, just don't let him have his fun, it's not like it's an official match anyway.

Losing once or twice is normal. In official matches, who still has Toxapex?

Even some of the Gym Leaders don't even recognize Toxapex.

  On the field,

the middle-aged man ignored the commotion outside. He was incredibly confident.

He had originally wanted to win the badge, and the cheers from the crowd only fueled his confidence.

He felt invincible and would soon become the Kanto League Champion!

"You're that Gym Leader? You don't look that strong."

"Heh, the internet was full of bragging about you beating Steven and Lance, but now it seems you're nothing special."

The middle-aged man sneered, pulling out a Poké Ball, his eyes filled with disdain and distrust. This kind of trainer could defeat Champion Steven?

These days, anything can be spread online. If a small Gym Leader like him could defeat Steven, he'd be jumping up and down, ready to slaughter legendary Pokémon.

  "Hmm?"

Bai Yu was silent for a moment.

The rumors circulating online were indeed unreliable. What did they mean by him beating Steven and kicking Lance?

He had never even fought Lance, and as for Steven, he had only defeated one of Steven's Spikeback Pokémon, which wasn't even Steven's main Pokémon.

Rumors were unreliable, and rumors in the Pokédex were even less so.

He was clearly a cheerful and outgoing Gym Leader, yet so many trolls online were saying his Pokémon usage was extremely disgusting and his tactics utterly repulsive!   "Hmph~ A cowardly little guy who doesn't dare speak up, nothing special."

"I'm Tie from Neon Town. The internet keeps bragging about how strong your Gym is, but it seems you're not all that great~ I wonder if the Gym Leader dares to accept my challenge."

The uncle named Tie glanced at the Gym area; he hadn't noticed it when he first entered, but the Gym area didn't look very good.

Big brother, are you really alright? I have a feeling that uncle is going to be tortured."

A boy in shorts trembled slightly, his heart unable to calm down.

He'd witnessed Bai Yu's battle with Hua Yue yesterday; even if the online claims of defeating Steven were false...

He'd witnessed Bai Yu defeat Hua Yue firsthand; otherwise, so many trainers wouldn't have flown all the way to Alola to catch Toxapex.

They just wanted to imitate Bai Yu's battle against Hua Yue, using entry darts to control the entire match's tempo.

"It should be fine, right?" a young man beside him said after a long silence.

  Neon Town's Tie?

Never heard of him. If he couldn't win, he could choose to surrender.

He wouldn't be so stubborn as to refuse to admit defeat until the match was over, would he? Probably not.
