Becoming the Master of the Bright Light Academy seemed like a daunting task, and I couldn't fathom why the system had chosen such a quest for me. Seeking clarity, I turned to Albert for insight.
"Albert, who currently serves as the master of the Bright Light Academy?" I inquired.
Albert's response was sobering. "Master Bowan holds that title. He's at the Early Master stage of Cultivation, but his methods are notorious for their cruelty. He's known to resort to torture if his students fail to meet his demands."
Appalled by this revelation, I pressed further. "Why haven't the students lodged complaints against such barbarity? Surely the government would intervene."
With a somber expression, Albert explained, "Unfortunately, the government turns a blind eye to such matters. Their priority lies in maintaining the academy's profitability and influence. Those who dared to speak out were swiftly silenced or removed from the equation."
Concerned about the danger, I hesitated. Just as doubt crept in, the system issued a stern warning: "[If the host fails to complete the quest within 3 months, the penalty will be the deactivation of the system and imminent death]." Faced with a life-or-death ultimatum, I begrudgingly accepted the challenge.
Albert, noticing my frustration, questioned my outburst. Composing myself, I sought a solution. "Albert, how can the Master of the academy be changed?"
"There are two ways to change the academy's leadership," Albert offered. "Either openly challenge Master Bowan and defeat him in combat, or infiltrate the academy, rise through the ranks, and then issue a challenge."
Stepping away, I gazed across the serene lake, contemplating the injustices of the world. "The strong prey on the weak," I mused, resolved to instigate change.
"Enroll me in the academy," I instructed Albert. "But conceal my true level of cultivation. We cannot afford to draw unnecessary attention."
Albert, taken aback by my revelation, stammered, "You're already at the Advanced Mortal stage?"
I nodded solemnly. "This knowledge must remain between us. The repercussions of its disclosure could be catastrophic."
Assured of Albert's discretion, I emphasized the importance of secrecy. "Your loyalty will be tested, Albert. But remember, the consequences of betrayal are severe."
Albert, visibly shaken, assured me, "Your secret is safe with me, sir. I'll guard it with my life."
As I contemplated the challenges ahead, I muttered to myself, "This will be a lengthy journey, and I must be mentally prepared."
With a resolute nod, Albert vowed to uphold the secrecy of my cultivation level, even unto death.
