Chapter 103 - Monsters

"Right over there."

"Let's go."

Boom!

Over a hundred Fifth-Tier zombies took to the air at once. Steve led the way, carrying Greg and Marry as they sped toward their target.

Mid-air, Steve tilted his head slightly, keenly sensing several powerful auras rapidly approaching from all directions.

"People from the authorities?"

Steve thought to himself.

"They've arrived at just the right time. With their help, I can save some effort when dealing with these paranormals in the future."

Haven City South City Branch.

"It's right there."

Greg pointed at a seemingly ordinary office building below and shouted.

"Very well."

A flash of excitement gleamed in Steve's eyes.

In his perception, this building was practically a den of thieves, packed with sickeningly dense Paranormal auras.

"Land and seal it off."

Boom!

Over a hundred zombies plummeted down, instantly surrounding the entire police station building.

An even sturdier ice wall rose from the ground, turning the place into an isolated island.

"Let me see just what kind of goods are hidden in this nest..."

Just as Steve was about to lead his group inside, several figures suddenly blocked the main entrance as if they had teleported.

Leading them was a middle-aged man in a black trench coat; it was John, who had rushed over.

He was currently on high alert, gripping a Paranormal blade that emitted a red glow, with several fully armed Supernatural Controllerss following behind him.

"Halt! Who are you—"

John was about to shout a reprimand when he suddenly froze.

He stared fixedly at Steve and the group of highly disciplined zombies behind him.

"Wait... this aura?"

As a veteran Supernatural Controllers, he was extremely sensitive to paranormal auras.

But while the monsters before him possessed dense death energy and energy fluctuations, they lacked that chaotic, twisted paranormal flavor.

On the contrary, Marry, who was being held by the lead monster, emitted a pure, foul Paranormal stench.

"You aren't paranormals?"

John asked subconsciously.

"Are you the people from the authorities?"

Steve spoke first, his tone calm.

"You got here pretty fast. That's right, we're here to... clean up the paranormals."

As he spoke, he shook Marry in his hand.

"Cleaning up paranormals?"

John and his team members looked at each other. This group, which looked more like paranormals than actual paranormals, was actually helping humans catch them? Had the world gone mad?

Just as the two sides were at a standstill.

The police station doors suddenly opened.

A group of people walked out expressionlessly.

Leading them was a tall, thin man in a police uniform, followed by forty or fifty officers.

Their gait was stiff and their eyes were hollow, but when they saw the captured Marry, a flash of shared malice crossed their eyes.

"A word of advice."

Steve spoke flatly.

"Don't look into their eyes. They're all paranormals."

"What?!"

John was shocked, but as a battle-hardened veteran, he didn't hesitate and immediately roared.

"Everyone, close your eyes! Activate sensory vision!"

Rustle.

The team members behind him were well-trained; they instantly pulled out special runic black cloths to blindfold themselves, relying on mental power to perceive their surroundings.

"Run! These monsters are out of their minds!!"

At that moment, Marry, still held by Steve, suddenly screamed at the top of her lungs.

"Boss! Run! This monster isn't just immune to rules; they're simply a bunch of freaks."

The group of paranormal police officers who had just walked out were slightly taken aback.

This wasn't how the script was supposed to go.

Normally, shouldn't these human supernatural controllers be scared out of their wits?

Why was one of their own calling for help?

Steve ignored her shouting, his icy blue eyes quickly scanning everyone opposite him.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

The Totems of Undying inside his body popped over fifty times in succession.

"Very good."

An extremely greedy smile appeared on Steve's face.

"They're all physical paranormals... a full fifty cores."

"Thinking of running?"

"None of you are getting away today."

Before his voice had even faded, Steve's body began to slowly rise into the air.

"Captain John... why does this monster seem even more excited than the paranormals?"

A team member whispered behind John.

John swallowed hard.

"I think... we might not need to do anything."

In mid-air.

Steve spread his arms wide, and the Fifth-Tier Genetic Lock inside his body fully opened.

"Roar!!!"

Accompanied by an earth-shaking roar, his body began to expand wildly.

In the blink of an eye, a terrifying fifty-meter-tall Frost Giant stood between heaven and earth. Its massive body blotted out the sun, looking like an ancient god or demon had descended.

The once clear sky was suddenly covered in dark clouds, and snow as large as goose feathers began to fall.

"Spatial Transfer."

Steve's thunderous voice echoed through the sky.

Buzz!

Over a hundred Fifth-Tier zombies simultaneously activated their spatial abilities.

A second later, the official Supernatural Controllerss present, the bewildered paranormal police officers, and the entire frozen police station building instantly vanished from the spot.

When they reappeared, they were in a desolate, open wilderness.

John took off his blindfold and stared at the towering Frost Giant before him, completely stunned.

"What... what the hell is this power?!"

"Is this even a level we can handle? Is this really an ally?!"

On the other side, the group of paranormals who had originally thought about resisting were now frozen in place.

The tall, thin paranormal leader looked up at Steve's foot, which was large enough to crush a building, and his lip couldn't help but twitch.

"She was right, he really is out of his mind!!"

"Damn it, do you think I've been absorbing energy all these years for nothing?!"

Although the tall, thin paranormal leader was afraid, he knew he couldn't escape. He let out a roar, and a thick, blood-colored energy erupted from his body.

"Since you won't give us a way out, let's fight to the death."

The tall, thin paranormal leader had just expanded his paranormal domain.

A space of pitch-black darkness, where one couldn't see their own hand in front of their face, tried to swallow everyone up.

However, before his domain could fully form...

"Rules? Too much trouble."

Steve's massive frost palm reached directly into the darkness.

Rip!

That despair-inducing dark domain was instantly torn apart by brute force.

"What?!"

Before the paranormal leader could react, a cold current of absolute zero suddenly swept over him.

Including him, and the forty-some subordinates behind him, they were all instantly frozen into lifelike ice sculptures.

The expressions of terror and anger on their faces were perfectly preserved within the crystal-clear ice.

"Take them away."

Steve returned to his normal size and waved to the zombies behind him.

"That B-rank core from before has been sent back. We should soon be able to figure out how to use those creatures. Once we've collected 100 cores, we'll have the beast cultivation manual."

Over a hundred zombies immediately stepped forward and hoisted the ice sculptures.

Having dealt with this batch of spoils, Steve turned to look at John, who had been standing dazed for some time.

"Can we talk?"
