Chapter 19 - Transit

"However, if we can't go above ground, we can go underground."

His eyes gleamed with wisdom as he spoke in a deep voice.

"When we first built this base, we already reserved a special transportation route, a line buried three hundred meters underground."

"It can transport goods from inside the base directly to a secret transit station fifteen kilometers away, using a fully automated conveying system."

General Randy paused, his gaze fixed on Steve, and asked the question he cared about most.

"But Steve, what's the principle behind you taking things from the Minecraft World? Do you need to open a Portal-like opening at a specific location? Or..."

His tone carried a hint of nervousness and anticipation.

"If we go to that underground transport station now, can you stand next to the conveyor belt, conjure the items out of thin air, and then directly place them on it for transport?"

This question was crucial.

If Steve had location restrictions for retrieving items, they would have to re-plan, or even build a dedicated retrieval area for him within the base.

But if not, it would be much simpler.

Steve looked at General Randy's nervous expression and smiled easily.

He raised his hand, pointed to his temple, his voice calm yet full of absolute confidence.

"Randy, have you forgotten when I demonstrated taking out gold in the base before?"

"That world is like it's in my mind; it's a part of me. As long as I want to, no matter where I am, I can directly bring things from inside it to my side."

"Just like this."

Before his words finished, Steve flipped his wrist.

Clatter.

A perfect cubic Gold Block, shimmering with a warm golden light, appeared on the ground without warning.

General Randy's eyes widened as he stared intently at the Gold Block, then burst into an uncontrollable, suppressed laugh.

"Good, good, this is great!"

He slapped his thigh heavily, all his worries vanishing into thin air.

"Let's go, we'll head to the transport route now. Today we're going to load up that old bastard Pedro's truck until its tires burst."

With that, General Randy took the lead, guiding Steve towards a special passage deep within the base.

The two walked on, passing through several heavy gates requiring dual iris and genetic verification, finally arriving at an unassuming alloy elevator.

The elevator's interior was vast, large enough to accommodate a light tank, but it had no floor buttons, only a downward arrow sensor area.

General Randy placed his palm on the sensor.

"Permission confirmed, General Randy, destination: third underground level, Central Cargo Transit Hub."

Rumble!

Accompanied by the deep whirring of machinery, the entire elevator began to descend rapidly.

Steve could clearly feel a sense of weightlessness and the pressure change in his eardrums; the depth of this descent far exceeded his imagination.

After nearly a full minute of descent, the elevator jolted abruptly and slowly came to a stop.

Ding!

The heavy alloy doors silently slid open to the sides.

The moment he saw the sight before him, Steve couldn't help but gasp, his eyes filled with shock.

Before him was an enormous underground cavern, impossible to describe with words.

Above the dome, countless high-power industrial lights illuminated the area as brightly as day, their light reflecting off the intricate network of steel tracks and conveyor belts.

This place was like a giant cargo port.

Countless heavy-duty conveyor belts, five meters wide, snaked like interwoven steel pythons from the depths of tunnels in all directions, finally converging here.

At this very moment, these conveyor belts were operating with extreme efficiency.

Crates of precision instruments, living supplies, and weapons and ammunition from the outside world were precisely grasped, sorted, and then sent to different areas by robotic arms.

The entire space was filled only with the roar of machines, with hardly any people visible; the high degree of automation made it seem like an efficient steel empire.

Steve gazed at this breathtaking scene, muttering to himself.

"Are all these supplies placed outside and then transported in by conveyor belt?"

"That's right."

General Randy stood beside him, his eyes full of pride.

"This is the esophagus of the Fortress. After all external supplies arrive at the transit station fifteen kilometers away, they are disassembled and packaged, then transported in through this underground passage. The entire process is unmanned, ensuring the base's absolute concealment and security."

"However..."

General Randy grinned, pointing at the conveyor belts that were continuously transporting supplies, his eyes gleaming with fanaticism.

"Starting today, this esophagus, which only takes in and never gives out, is going to start vomiting."

"And what it's about to vomit out is a miracle capable of rewriting the industrial landscape of all of world, and even the world."

As General Randy's words fell, Steve smiled calmly, stepped forward, and stood in the center of this torrent of steel and machinery.

He said no more, simply and calmly raised his right hand, and with a gentle wave, gestured towards the vast, empty alloy ground before him, large enough to accommodate several football fields.

In an instant.

Space, at this moment, showed visible distortion and warping.

An indescribable, heavy pressure, as if from another dimension, descended out of thin air.

General Randy's pupils suddenly contracted, and before he could recover from the shock of this spatial anomaly.

Boom!

Accompanied by a dull thud, the distorted space suddenly expanded outwards.

Dazzling golden light, mixed with deep iron-gray and pure jet-black, surged wildly from the void crack like a breached flood.

In just one second.

A small mountain, constructed from countless one-cubic-meter blocks, appeared out of thin air in this massive underground transit hub.

Gold Blocks, Iron Blocks, Coal Blocks.

The three materials were distinctly separated yet tightly stacked together, instantly covering thousands of square meters of the huge empty space.

The mountain of gold, shimmering with the light of wealth, reflected a dazzling halo under the industrial lights, almost dyeing the entire underground space golden.

General Randy looked up, his mouth unconsciously agape. He had been a soldier his entire life and had seen many grand spectacles, but this scene before him...

Just then, accompanied by a series of dull thuds, over a dozen tall and burly figures abruptly appeared beside the resource mountain.

They were, astonishingly, over a dozen Iron Golems, nearly three meters tall.

Their appearance once again caused the hearts of the few monitoring guards nearby to stop, and they instinctively reached for their guns.

"Don't move, they're with us!"

General Randy was the first to react, shouting loudly.

The dozen or so Iron Golems, upon seeing Steve and General Randy, moved with surprisingly standard actions.
