Chapter 66: The Plot Begins

NATO Armed Command.

"For centuries, human weaponry has undergone revolutionary changes. MARS Industries has always been dedicated to creating cutting-edge technology, and today we are finally proud to announce that after nearly a decade of development, MARS Industries has finally created the ultimate weapon capable of ending any war!"

In the conference hall, a man in a well-tailored suit, with a calculating expression, enthusiastically explained the new weapon on the podium.

This man was none other than McCullen, the CEO of MARS Industries and the actual owner of this weapons manufacturing company.

He pointed back at the large screen in the conference hall.

"Nano-warhead!"

"This is a revolutionary product—just one of these can destroy an entire city!" A soldier in the video used a shoulder-fired launcher to deploy a warhead filled with a light green liquid.

The warhead struck an armored vehicle, and at a visible speed, the surface metal of the vehicle separated and crumbled, rapidly corroding away, leaving only a few broken metal supports.

In a simulated attack demonstration, a nano-warhead containing 6 million nanomites was dropped into a city center. The entire city's steel and concrete, everything in sight, was devoured, leaving only a desolate wasteland.

"Each nanomite is equipped with a kill switch—a simple command can terminate the attack at any time!" The operator in the video pressed a control device, and the nanomites frantically consuming the city were instantly deactivated—the response was swift and immediate.

McCullen stood on the platform, his arms outstretched, as if he controlled the entire world.

"Gentlemen, it won't be long before you can acquire this epoch-making weapon and completely end any conflict!"

The military and political figures from various countries seated in the conference hall all wore expressions of shock, greed, and barely concealed ambition.

Human history tells us that using war to stop war has never worked—wielding such a weapon inevitably breeds aggression. Seeing this, McCullen smiled with satisfaction.

At the MARS factory in Kyrgyzstan,

the first batch of four nano-warheads was being produced at full capacity.

"This is the final product of a $13 billion project, soldier. You'd better keep these things secure. If they're lost, you can't afford the consequences."

An elderly staff member handed a sealed metal case to a handsome, athletic young man.

The young man didn't respond—he always preferred to let his actions speak. He handed the case to an African American soldier beside him.

"Ripcord, take it and get it to the vehicle!"

The soldier named Ripcord said reluctantly, "I'm saying, Duke, isn't this thing dangerous?"

The young man called Duke didn't answer, but the staff member beside him said seriously, "None of the nano-warheads have been activated, but I suggest you avoid any serious impact!"

"If the warheads break, you'd better pray you're airborne—otherwise it will devour everything in sight!"

"Everyone, move out!" Duke clapped his hands, getting the attention of all his team members.

"We need to get this to Ganch Air Force Base. The recon team will meet us 40 kilometers from the base."

"Two Apache attack helicopters will provide air cover along the way. All units, stay alert. We need to be prepared for any possible attacks!"

"Alright, everyone, let's roll!" Duke gave the order, and the rest of the team sprang into action. Accompanied by the roar of helicopters, the convoy formed up, escorting the warheads away from the factory.

Night fell, and nothing unexpected happened along the way. Duke occasionally communicated with the two helicopters overhead.

"Wildcat 1, Wildcat 2, report status!"

"All clear. No suspicious vehicles detected. Switching to night vision mode!" The helicopters activated radar scanning, constantly monitoring the surrounding area.

"Hey, Duke! Didn't you say we were meeting the recon team 40 kilometers from Ganch Air Force Base?" Ripcord looked at the GPS unit in his hand and suddenly asked.

"Yes, that's the op plan. What's wrong?"

"We just passed the 41-kilometer mark, but we haven't seen the recon team!" Ripcord said warily.

Duke grabbed the comm. "Wildcat One, be advised—stay sharp!"

"No anomalies detected!"

The helicopter circled, scanning the area, but failed to notice that, hidden in the darkness, a strangely shaped aircraft appeared alongside Wildcat One, moving in an arc.

The aircraft hovered steadily in mid-air, and then two violent electromagnetic pulses erupted, accompanied by a humming sound. The unsuspecting Wildcat One was instantly torn apart.

The metal frame was shredded, and amidst a towering explosion, Wildcat One plummeted from the sky, crashing onto a vehicle on the ground!

"All units! All units! We are under attack!" Duke shouted frantically. "Wildcat 2, target located! Shoot it down!"

"Protect the warheads! Show them what we've got!"

Explosions and machine gun fire filled the air. Before the escorts below could mount a proper counterattack, Wildcat 2 was blasted down from the sky.

Vehicles tumbled, dirt flew everywhere. The aircraft attacking them was clearly technologically superior to anything in service—50mm cannon fire only produced sparks on the surface, failing to damage it in the slightest.

Electromagnetic cannons fired from the wings easily tore through Duke's defensive positions. Duke's squad, having quickly lost air superiority, was now completely on the defensive.

The enemy aircraft slowly descended from the sky. The hatch opened, and six tall, fully armored warriors in powered exoskeletons stepped out. Each of them was nearly six-foot-six, wearing thick ballistic armor and metal plating covering their vital areas.

Behind this group of armored soldiers, a tall, slender woman in a tight tactical suit gracefully descended the ramp.

It was none other than Mason's stepsister—Anna!

"Find the warhead—kill them all!" Anna coldly ordered.

She adjusted her tactical goggles, which clearly displayed the location of the nano-warheads, then pulled out her electromagnetic pulse pistol and casually shot a soldier taking cover nearby.

Her pistol looked compact, but its power was comparable to a grenade launcher—anyone hit directly was either killed instantly or severely wounded, often sent flying through the air.

She didn't even need to aim carefully—she simply pointed at clusters of soldiers and pulled the trigger.

Meanwhile, the G.I. Joe team, who were supposed to be heading to the battlefield, encountered an unexpected situation.
