Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: The Greedy Pokémon Girl

Seeing Skitty's internal struggle, Wade waited patiently, a faint smile on his lips. He understood—not all Pokémon desired a Trainer's partnership. Many cherished their wild freedom over the structured journey toward becoming champions.

But the conflicted creature before him, whose gaze kept darting between his eyes and the fish, clearly belonged to a different category.

"Meowth."

Finally, with a soft sigh of defeat, Skitty surrendered to the aroma. Yet, a spark of pride remained. Before accepting her new life, she wished to issue a formal capture challenge—a duel for honor, not just dinner.

"Of course. No problem." Wade's expression turned wryly amused. So the little gourmand has a fighter's spirit after all. I thought the fish alone would suffice.

He considered his team. Mienshao or Gardevoir would end this in a heartbeat. No, this required a gentler touch.

"Lilligant, I'll leave this to you."

The elegant Grass-type stepped forward, her leaf-skirt rustling softly. Skitty faced her, muscles coiled.

"You may make the first move," Wade offered.

In a flash, Skitty cried out—a sharp, startling sound. It was as if an invisible hand slapped through the air towards Lilligant with startling speed.

[Fake Out: A priority attack that causes flinching. Only works on the first turn.]

Wade recognized it instantly—a classic, irritating opener in the games. In reality, a significant power gap could negate it, but here, the levels were close enough for the move to land true.

"Yami~!"

Lilligant, caught off-guard, stumbled back and fell in a flurry of green fabric.

"Meowth~!" Skitty trilled, puffing her chest out in triumph.

"Lilligant," Wade's voice was calm. "Synthesis. Then, Grassy Terrain."

While Skitty basked in her small victory, Lilligant simply raised a hand. A warm, golden glow enveloped her, and the scent of sun-warmed herbs filled the clearing. In moments, she rose, refreshed and radiant, the minor damage undone. The very ground beneath her feet blossomed with vibrant, nourishing energy.

"Meowth?!" Skitty's eyes widened in disbelief. With a frustrated yowl, she curled and launched herself forward in a headlong Tackle.

"Dance, Lilligant," Wade instructed, his voice still serene amidst the charging dust. "Use Teeter Dance."

Against brute force, finesse was the key.

"Pivot left on your light foot."

"Now, retract your right leg, bend at the waist, and arch back gracefully."

"Sha" "Mino" From the sidelines, Gardevoir and Mienshao exchanged glances of quiet approval.

Under her Trainer's guidance, Lilligant became a vision. She was a princess at a grand ball, weaving through Skitty's frantic charges with impossible grace. Her movements were a flowing, hypnotic rhythm—a dance among falling leaves where not a single one touched her gown.

[Teeter Dance: A dizzying dance that confuses all nearby Pokémon.]

Skitty's furious charges soon turned clumsy. Her eyes glazed over, her head swimming from the mesmerizing, swirling steps.

"Now!" Wade commanded.

A Poké Ball sailed through the air. It tapped Skitty's forehead, engulfing her in red light. It shook once, twice—and clicked.

"Meowth" a drowsy murmur came from within the ball. "Mmm… so fragrant"

"Awake now?"

Wade's gentle voice roused her. Skitty—now in her Pokémon Girl form—blinked her vibrant cherry-pink eyes, slowly emerging from the crook of his arm.

"Mm-hmm~" she hummed softly, her gaze immediately locking onto a beautiful, terrible sight: a whole shelf lined with plump, glistening fish.

She swallowed, a delicate gulp echoing in the quiet room. A serious dilemma presented itself. Should I start from the left end… or the right?

"Patience," Wade chuckled, ruffling her silken, pink-cherry hair. "They're all raw. You have to wait for them to be grilled."

The newly captured Pokémon Girl was a picture of adorable contradictions. Her hair fell like a smooth mountain stream to her shoulders, framing creamy skin, a pair of fluffy, expressive cat ears, and those wide, sparkling eyes. The light pink dress she now wore clung to a surprisingly graceful figure—hinting at soft, rounded curves, a slender waist, and the promise of a firm, shapely fullness that belied her youthful appearance. The spirit of a wild glutton was now encased in the form of a captivating, if slightly distracted, young lady.

"Here, this one's yours."

As the bonfire crackled and the first tendrils of smoky, savory aroma curled into the air, Wade selected the largest, most perfectly bronzed fish and presented it to the wide-eyed Pokémon Girl in his arms. She had been tracking its progress over the flames with the intensity of a hunter.

"Mmm… delicious!"

The moment the flaky, tender flesh met her tongue, Skitty's eyes flew wide, then fluttered shut in bliss. An explosive burst of savory juices flooded her mouth, rich with the notes of smoke, spice, and lemon. An involuntary, happy hum vibrated in her throat.

"Eat slowly. There's plenty," Wade chuckled, his fingers gently stroking the velvety softness of her cat ears before he turned back to tend the remaining fish.

His movements were practiced and efficient, a skill honed from another life. With a few deft slices of a sharp knife, he scored the fish skin, then showered them with a rain of seasonings—a pinch of salt, a dusting of cumin and pepper, a final, bright squeeze of lemon juice. Over the fire, they sizzled into perfection.

"I... I'm sorry, Master! I didn't mean to~"

A little while later, a soft, mortified gasp came from his lap. The Pokémon Girl clutched her dress, her cheeks flushed. Her culinary enthusiasm had left a mark: a sizable chunk of grilled fish now rested squarely on the previously clean fabric of his trousers, a constellation of glistening oil drops spreading around it.

"Oh, that's alright," Wade waved a dismissive hand. "Just a pair of pants. I'll change later."

"How can that be?!" Skitty shook her head fiercely, her fluffy ears bouncing. Changing his pants would be the ultimate waste! The very idea was unacceptable.

"Let me clean it for Master!"

Without waiting for permission, driven by a potent mix of guilt and a deeper, more compelling motive, she lowered her head. Her warm, slick tongue darted out with surprising delicacy, retrieving the fallen morsel from the fabric.

"Mmm… still delicious," she murmured happily to herself, savoring the rescued bite.

Wade finally understood. The "cleaning" was merely a pretext. This little gourmand couldn't bear to see even a single speck of that delectable feast go to waste. Her greed was a thing of pure, focused reverence.

Having dispatched the fish, her quest continued. That tantalizing, oil-slicked spot called to her. Her tongue, soft and insistent, began to lap at the stain, tracing slow, meticulous circles.

"Ma... Master," she mumbled, her voice muffled against the fabric. A new, daring thought seemed to strike her. "There... there might be some inside, too…"

Not content with the surface, driven by an instinct that was both naive and perilously knowing, her small fingers fumbled with the obstructive layer of cloth, pushing it aside.

"W-What is this?"

Skitty drew back slightly, her cherry-pink eyes wide with innocent shock. She had never encountered "food" that looked so… formidable. So imposing.

Beside them, Gardevoir—having long since shifted into her diaphanous, white-gowned form—let out a soft, almost imperceptible swallow. Her emerald eyes were dark pools of infatuated understanding.

"It…" Wade began, his voice a low rasp. He could feel it now—not just Gardevoir's hungry gaze, but several other pairs of intense eyes watching from the shadows of the firelight. The air grew thick with unspoken competition. "It's… a very special kind of milk. Sweet. And rich."

"Then…" Skitty's hesitation vanished, replaced by the pure, unadulterated avarice of a true foodie presented with a unique delicacy. Her tears of apology were forgotten, superseded by tears of desperate craving. "Then I want to eat it!"

And before any of her rivals could so much as twitch, the tearfully greedy Pokémon Girl lunged forward, claiming her prize with a hungry, determined pounce.
